I tried adding pictures to the post headers but it never works so I gave up on it.

You mean headers feel does not syncs well with the entry ?

I'd say it's a problem of wanting to achieve too difficult too quickly. To get an image perfectly in line with what you imagine, one often has to created it, or at the very lead to customize it. And it takes some experience to achieve good results either with screenshots, or by photoshopping other kind of images (or both).

Yet it's often because of aiming for to complex too quickly. I mean, for example, trying to show a character performing a martial arts kick with a movement effect and a tuned background, wouldn't be something I would've been able to do at first.

So I didn't ; and went for an object symbolizing the entry rather than one event of the entry. Hence the book covers, with different colors, but basically the same shape for each storyline. And that is way more accessible to do, basically you only have to photoshop it once to your desires, and then just tune the colors.

So if you can't find images fitting enough for the action ; create one visual symbol for the storyline. Though not as eye catching than faces or action shots, readers will recognize the symbol, and it'll draw in more clicks than a bland, empty, default header. IMO. :classic_smile:

Anyway, you're not the first to ask so, as I was already thinking in better explaining it, here's the relevant part of the tutorial (I just illustrated it for more clarity) :

It's from about the same time that LL was ported from the old forums to the current Invision board (4.0+), so I'd say between one and two years ago. That's the moment where the likes were reset and the smileys did change, if that's easier for you to recall.

Or rather you didn't paid attention when it happened. Just before that we had a period of time where the "header" was just an image that came up in the first lines of an entry. Current system is quite an improvement over it.

As for being blind, no worries : you're not the first to ask me about how to add a header ; and some people didn't even find the like button, so... :classic_wink:

You're welcome Aristos ! Your work more than deserved it by the sheer quality of it. Though mainly articulated around sheer erotism, I liked how you added a game of influence and manipulation to each chapter.

As for being averted from it by other games, that's only natural : originally, we're all gamers. And see the bright side of it : Anno 1800 might give you more ideas and inspiration for your later works. :classic_wink:

Most of the stories listed here are comics or illustrated/subtitled text (though some are written in pure text format). I am not sure if any of them are available as in-game books, however if there is a particular story that you really like you can always reach out to the author directly to see if they would be willing to create something like that or to work with a modder.

Hi Gro_Lak.

Regarding ingame versions, while theoretically doable for the shortest stories (3-4 images strips), it's very unlikely to happen for most of the stories you'll read here. The reason being most are between 1600x900 and 1920x1080 jpegs, with about 25 to 150 images per entry. And so that would make 30 to 100 Mo per entry, which is unacceptable in a video game (not even mentionning entries with PNG of GIFs). As you'll have noticed very few ingame books have illustrations, and most of them have only one or two, with only a few colors ; all of that in order to occupy as little disk space as possible. So I don't see a massive ingame port of our stories happening.

My workaround works but is a bit tedious : you simply add post in the comment section, with a spoiler where you mention all the followers of your blog.

I see it's been a bit since you tinkered with this (and certainly I'm not one to cast dispersions about that! ) but, if you are still toying with this idea at all, I noticed the links to my little stories are the old now-inaccessible ones.

If you are done toying with it, which I totally get, that's fine, of course.

No, I'm not done. I've had a switch of priorities, which was forced by the events at first, and then was followed by a willing rearrangement. But the Small Library isn't dead in my mind, and the Chronicles possibly aren't either, though in a more distant future.

Now that my freetime has partly returned, I've got one non LL online project I'd like to attend to. But then (and that should be before the end of the summer), I'll probably do a large update, which shall fix all the deadlinks issues if there are. ?

Now since you're asking, and since Malicia tells me she wishes to get on your good side, I'll fix the three already provided right away. :classic_biggrin:

@Cema I saw you made the effort to create a story index. That's a good idea, and I like its visuals. However, if, for each storyline, you do place the more recent entries first, it contradicts the reading order, which will imply the readers will have either to be watchful, or will start by the latest entry by mistake (which is btw the order they would be served just by accessing your blog the regular way). Feel free to leave it at that, but if I were you I'd probably go for older first.

@SpyVsPie Old doesn't means bad, specially considering the quality your blog started with. Yet, I rearranged your blogs' description as wished, feel free to tell me it it's not alright yet.

@jfraser Blogs links updated. Added the blogs and the story index (nice idea again ^^).

@Crw Updated your blog with the reboot's links. However the feature image doesn't feel at the level of the visuals your blogs currently proposes us. While it still has some charm, feel free to submit another image if you wish so. :classic_wink:
