Hi everyone ! In this little library, you'll find a collection of Loverslab's most noteworthy story-blogs, made for adventure lovers. Originally a hub for the Chronicles of Mereth, the library part has grown, and rapidly became the main attraction of the entry. To the point it became out of place in the Chronicles, and now evolves inside a fully fledged blog, to better complement the Storytellers' Club (its community counterpart). Of course, my troublesome associate being an eager blog reader, she'll still make some comments alongside mine.

ldyMRSUy_o.png « Hi-i ♪ !  Do you like reading ? You should, because that's what intelligent people do, you see ?  And I'm very expert at being intelligent, yes. :classic_sleepy: »

THE SMALL LIBRARY : LOVERSLAB'S STORIES

Story-blogs can require a lot of work from their authors, and do only take the spotlight briefly. As a story lover, I thought it would be a pity for them to get forgotten (specially the elder scrolls ones), and found it could be handy to have them all gathered in one place, for quick access. JrVs7UW4_o.gif

Do you like stories ? Here are some of the ones Malicia and I liked most, sorted by type.

Captions :
— The amount of adult content is flagged with letters (L = light, M = medium, H = heavy). Heavy means frontal sex scenes at almost every episode (≥75%), light means mostly nudity or quite infrequent sex scenes (≤ 25%), medium or moderate is somewhere between those two (meaning there is sex but you should not expect it at every episode). SFW means there is none (no visible/explicit private bits).
— Click on the blog's titles to access them. Do not forget to check for the last page for each blog, for the first entries are the oldest ones, and some blogs are quite large.  In case the oldest entry isn't the best one to start with, a recommended one will be linked after the description.

—  Blog's status will be checked periodically, and flagged as you may know if the story is still available.

That's the explosive mix that Crw brilliantly demonstrates through a story rich in special effects, humor, epic combats and story twists, all in a rather unique setup for Loverslab. Ever heard of Nunsploitation ?  Like B-movies and adventure ? Flavorful transformations ? You'll love this blog, which not only features comic styled dialogues, but also animated gifs.

Life isn't easy. Probably less as a warrior. Probably harder as an elf, not even mentionning Altmers. But if you're a female altmer warrior wandering Skyrim, that you're too busty for you own good, and not that clever, you're in for one hell of a ride. ^^ Thus an original « Bad Ends » feature, where the author develops what might've happened if things went even more wrong. And events that could go wrong there will be...

Recommend start : Chapter One.

Malicia : « Sirrae is a yellow elf who thinks a lot. But only when she's got her hand on the pee-pee, and she's rubbing it you know ? A bit like Tabi, uh. :classic_angel: »

Old man Dovakiin is the kind of blog that's hard to classify : wackiness is the main vector, but it carries a story which can dish oniric adventures and torturous erotism alike. Erotism that will punctuate the encounter of a myriad of characters, ranking from a teddy bear to the busty incarnation of Vaermina, and a plethora of succubus inbetween. Feeling curious ? Take a look, master Sheogorath commands it.

It is currently being backed by a second blog, Vargr, which deals with the whereabouts of those sensual, yet scheming mythical creatures.

Second version of a same storyline, this blogs features his own mix of fantasy, sex and humor born from the reunion of the three ingame alter-egos of its authors. Though the main tale has been discontinued due to technical issues, there are some good laughs in there (poses and faces are very expressive ^^). Very well written, and featuring a realism only pure text tales can offer ; worth the read if images are not a requisite for you. Usually, thoughtless frontal assaults upon strong foes do lead to a quick death. If the first dragonborn were to be killed during one of those, to who else could Tamriel turn to ? What if the intelligence from another world was the answer to the lacks of the current one ? Created by an already experienced author, this cross-over describes the original steps of a Fallout 4 heroine into a completely different fantasy universe. My blog isn't featured ! WTF Trilog ! Malicia, give me my money back !

Keep in mind the library, being originally also a hub for my chronicles, does only get updated each time I do publish one of them, and only with 4 blogs at a time. So, I have to make choices : is the author steady (only time can tell), has its work's quality matured enough to be featured, is there an older blog that could benefit from the spotlight... Those are considerations I do take in account when choosing them. So, if you don't see your blog in the library, it's still very likely that I've noticed it ; but that either I'm waiting for it to improve, either simply waiting for the next batch to feature it. Best way to make sure is to ask (I suggest PM). axrWsMKf_o.gif

It says the blog is Imgur locked. The images won't show !

Imgur blocks LL. It translates in some entries being accessible only from Imgur directly, and sometimes even locked to registered users only. There are a few workarounds, such as referer concealing addons, such as Smart Referer for Firefox (which I could confirm functional), or Referer Control for Chrome (which may be outdated). No issues so far with Smart Referer, but as those addons aren't security checked,  I would advise disabling them after use.

Hey guys !

The small library is now a fully fledged blog ! Besides the library that you know, and which will be updated as usual, it will feature detailed blogs reviews (with ratings to stimulate people ), and partial restorations of deleted blogs. And so it will live a bit more than the previous library, and do so in a better suited place (IMO), as I understand that the library's readers might not necessarily be interested in the Chronicles, and vice-versa.

To the updates then :

  • @The Gauntman, @Lukaslegend , @Yosih I don't want to bother you guys, but some great entries are left dormant, and it's up to you to wake them !
  • @Nuka Raider69 After due deliberation (with myself ?), as you have already restarted your stories, I have decided to maintain your current blog as active and not out of order. I still consider Child of Darkness as a deleted blog though, as you already know
  • @djregs I updated your blog's feature image and description. I had quite a lot of others images I hesitated with, some quite lewder, some covered with text. So if you want another image, just send it to me !
  • @Alter Native I saw you updated your summary entry ; that's nice; Yet you previously asked to report if some orthographic mistakes were made, and I think it's "fiance" rather than "finance" twice, and her "beliefs" instead of believes. You asked. I also updated your feature image to make up for it. :classic_tongue:

The order of the blogs also was a bit scrambled, as it wasn't really up to date ; but some of it is subject to changes once I'll have made the detailed reviews. Keep in mind that though the blogs are indeed somewhat "ranked", their maintenance has a big impact over it, and so if your blog ends up going towards the end, it's very likely that it is poorly maintained.

That's it folks !

Thanks for the update. I'll fix it when I do the update after Chapter 7 next week.

I'm not sure how I feel about the gif category or rather the choices for it. Crw0 has some gifs but most of his stuff is static, so the comic category might be more fitting, the same is true for Amanda's blog (I didn't know it even had gifs...).

Woohoo, I didn't expect such an enthusiastic reaction ! Fixing your blog, even partially, was the best thing I could've hope from that update, Gaunt !

Now, to be honest, archives aren't a great substitute for images in entries, as they require a download and won't be read in order by most computer programs (it'll be image 1, then image 11, then 12 for example). But there's no hurry, and if a choice had to be made, the ones left to be fixed are in fact only Omi City heat only (as that's the point where you started doing comics). So when you'll have the time (there are usually three to four months between library updates), I still consider it's worth your efforts. But I'm amazed by your reaction already : that was a nice present for the community, Gauntman !

And so I used the occasion to update a tiny bit your blog's description. :classic_wink:

Thanks for the update. I'll fix it when I do the update after Chapter 7 next week.

I'm not sure how I feel about the gif category or rather the choices for it. Crw0 has some gifs but most of his stuff is static, so the comic category might be more fitting, the same is true for Amanda's blog (I didn't know it even had gifs...).

Adding a category has the advantage of offering more exposure to some blogs (Crw's and Hats lady's are on top of the gif category, whereas if not they'd be in competition with Wanobi's, Spy's and Cema's for the comics ; and Collygon's + Irstina's for illustrated text). And that while Crw's and Hats lady's work deserve some special spotlight. So there would be some drawbacks for them if I were to delete that category. ?

That being said, this library is meant as a part of our community activity, and so as a place where the authors can also express themselves. So if they feel their blog isn't in the right category anymore, or if the want something changed (like the feature image, some parts of the description) ; they can just ask. I can't guarantee I'll accept everything but I won't bite ! :D

Im curious about the detailed reviews and other things. ?

Looking forward for it, especially for my own one haha ?

Illustrated text do fit more well my stories and blog in general, Im glad you added that.

Thanks Resdayn ! It was indeed needed, as it is an exercise clearly different in style than writing subtitles.

Well I think you have a bit of an idea of what the detail reviews will be. The only thing, is that I took in consideration what was said about it, and so there'll be no global ratings but ratings by "criterias/domains" so to speak ; plus they'll only be on the individual blog page. So the comparisons won't be forced upon the readers/authors (though still possible). But, the review will only be a part of the entry, there should be more depending on what the author has made and agrees to. :classic_wink:

Well, yes. I didn't post any gif stuff for ages. Time to do something about it ^_^

It's how you feel like, Crw ; but your work used to feature at least one gif per entry. Now if you feel they are unneeded and want your blog to be considered as a comic, feel free to ask. Smiley_jap_HFR.gif

You added very good bloggers. I really love Irstina's work. By saying that I don't mean that two others are less worthy, just that she has a style that suites me more. :)

Well Irstina's work graphic quality is truly spectacular, and the text part is a bit shorter than Desvati's. But his work is quite impressive as well (he had one of the biggest Skyrim adult story blog of Tumblr). Forshare is more accessible, despite really making stories only quite recently ; but he tends to insist more on the "phantasm/kink" aspect of the scenes, and is technically less advanced than the two others.

I think I would change the order of almost every single one of those categories ? ?

Actually the only ones I went through true marks comparisons to rank them so far were your blog compared to Cema's, as I couldn't really figure out that case without proper method. I wanted to do so for Personal Insanities vs Perversity, but I lacked of time, and the fact the second was a comic really impacted my decision. As for the others, there are 4-5 blogs that have lower ranking than they should due to poor maintenance.

But as I said, it was a really fast rough appreciation for most of them. And so it's subject to change. once I'll have the reviews done (which will be quite progressive). I still made an effort to rank according to objective criterias rather than my preference, and so current order should be a bit better than the previous one in that regard.

Anyway, if you want to debate on specific examples, I'm open to discussion. :D

I think you should not rank stuff, wasn't the original idea of yours getting readers notice those works and read it, especially ones what they not notice?

If you rank them, thats sorta already failed, cause nobody gonna read those you rank at the bottom, even worser if someone miss them due those ranks, when they actually wanted read something like that in the bottom.

Without Spy pointing out, I not even notice it.

Tell me Resdayn : were exactly do you see the rankings ?

Nowhere ? Indeed, the rankings are invisible, and it is not said in the entry itself that there are. I said it to you authors in my comments as, since my discussion with Spy I knew some suspected it ; but once we'll hit the second page of comments, it'll be forgotten.

The purpose of the library entry is to gather the works the authors put enough effort into, so that they can all be found in one place. And that despite not having the spotlight of the blogs main page anymore. That means all the blogs featured here are worth in some way. Point.

But some will be worth only in the eyes of people liking one precise type of entertainment ; while others will get addicted even the most volatile of readers. By putting those last ones first, I ensure that the passerby realizes how much value there can be in our stories, and make him/her more likely to come back here to search for others blogs.

Now Im not sure with detailed reviews now.

Detailed reviews will serve different purposes.  For one, they'll allow me to partially restore lost work. For two, they will be a precise description of current blog features, and I think grades are part of that.

  • There won't be global blog grades, but only grades by domains.
  • The grades won't be displayed in the library entry.
  • There won't be grades comparisons in one same entry, at least for the part I have full control over.

Ideally, I'd like the reviews to make authors realize the strengths and weaknesses of their blog, as authors are very likely to compare then to others. See it like emulation.

But for readers, they will probably read the reviews one by one, and if they see something they like/attracts their eyes, they are likely to try discovering the blog without making any type of comparison beforehand. And so the reviews will give even more spotlight to featured blogs, independently of each other.

Those reviews (which won't be purely an evaluation), but will aim to make that discovery easy and attractive.

I must confess I am myself a bit unsure of how that will be received. But I think a good way of making the readers pay attention to the reviews is to make them really more informative than the library. And some may use that to make comparisons, but I assure you, calculating the global gradefor a blog, even with all the grades under the eye is quite tedious (they're not numerical), and I don't see anyone but authors doing that. ^^

Well they are invisible, but one can see it if it look hard, ya Spy kinda made it more obvious in sight. ?

Something what noticed can't be hidden anymore. ?

I personally disagree with its existence, even fits subtle ?, I feel its pretty meaningless to talk about, but I have my own thoughts on it, but see no point talking about it.

I get readers look different kind of entertaiment, not everyone like the same thing, but how do you plan them get the right one?

I see and wait, about reviews and the entire thing with tihs, then make judgement after.

Contracting them before hand is good decision, let them know the thing, before they get something what can cause issues.

One order of presentation must necessarily be chosen, there is no way around it :

  • Blogs' age. Older blogs first. At the risk of frustrating the reader by clicking some mostly unavailable or even out of order first.
  • Alphabetical order : same problem, readers may stop if the one on top position isn't good enough. Plus once authors understand why Almost A Princess Tale gets the first place, we could see some well though blogs name changes. ^^
  • Personal preference. Purely arbitrary, possibly biased, but at least a bit harder to decipher than through defined criteria.
  • Popularity : already popular blogs would get more popular at the expense of already less popular ones. Accessibility and fan service may also prime into that kind of sorting ; but at least if wouldn't be me choosing it.
  • Displayed quality ranking : less bias, more chance to get the reader want to discover more, but more direct competition for the authors.
  • Hidden quality ranking : same than before, and a bit less frustrating for the authors. This is the current one.

  1. Categories. They'll know if they do enjoy some text or if they can't stand anything than comics beforehand.
  2. Precisely with quality ranking withing each category. Which induces that the first one presented is more likely to please a great proportion of readers, than the last. Which is why I do start by the ones supposedly having the best rankings.
  3. And there's the blog description, though it's very short, and would be expanded in detailed reviews.

Yep, I intended to do so beforehand anyway. There will be a possibility to refuse the review if one prefers so. Smiley_jap_HFR.gif

I AM actually still alive, but my estimates are wrong as usual :classic_tongue:

Along with my procrastination I also have like 195 (with a few possibly slated for removal, but still like 190+) screenshots instead of my estimated 150ish, which means that the next entry is actually longer than the other ones put together, oof.  Unfortunately there was no good way to split it up due to the way I format things with each Chapter being through a character's eyes.

All I still have to do is some minor photoshopping and another pass through the text. Thanks for the nomination regardless!

I'm banking on a quicker turnaround for the next thing as the scope won't be quite as absurd and I won't be on hiatus before starting on it. Sooo, Soon(TM)!

It's good to know you're alive. Though with "young geek found dead in the explosion of her computer, the cops suspect she was trying to reconstitute the great war" we would've known. :classic_biggrin:

Jokes aside, your work is outstanding, and your nomination well deserved. If I were you though, I may consider still doing the chapters through a characters' eyes, but possibly doing two in a row with the same character. That would allow you easier splits, and so more presence in the main page (though the library is there to get around that problem).

But, authors' freedom first ! Do what you think is best. :classic_wink:

Your goal was a library for the work, lets keep out the things what can change it to something else.

While the blog orders in the category might be a tricky question, it may be not that optimal but I would still pick one what gives all the choices equal standing, with no hard feelings.

Hidden quality one you use is subjective, one can argue about forever, like Spy said.

In retrospect, I should've probably figured out a way to split it somehow since it's so long! But there wasn't really a good place to do it because of the way it flowed - splitting it at the middle would've made the second half much more eventful than the first, it could probably have been done with some re-writing, you'll know what I mean when I upload :classic_tongue:

The next one ought to be more in line with the others in terms of size, though it wouldn't be the first time I was wrong~.  Next time I have a really long one I might do something like "Chapter 4.5 / 5 " for a shorter wait, probably helps with my motivation to get things done too.

Well, you seem to be in the category of those who can't compete with the most active bloggers in terms of publishing rate. So in that case, the rule of the thumb would be not to make things worse than they are already. My last chapter of EoP was supposed to be 160 images long : I decided to part it in 60 - 100, and released the second one not too far from the first, so that the readers would still have the previous part in mind upon reading the second.

In that precise case that backfired though, as my headers were extremely close from one another, and so there were very likely a significant amount of readers who thought I had simply bumped my previous entry. XD

Also, the loading times should be taken in account (195 images is a lot, even for JPEGs considering your style and resolution choice, so that might induce loading issues) ; and as you say, as an author it's a bit more motivating to have a bit more shiny entries upon clicking your blog. ^^

Anyway, you're the author, only you can take a fully enlightened decision. :classic_wink:

It is, but I still think of it as better than any of the others sorting orders. Plus it's not as subjective as you think.

For example, in the domain of graphical quality :

  • interface removal
  • facial expressions
  • poses
  • colors & levels (≈ ENB)
  • FOV  & angles
  • grain/sharpness/textures quality
  • composition & artistic value
  • lighting
  • backgrounds
  • Photoshop.

In other words if I see a picture ill centered, with characters not posed, one of them talking standing on a table (thus with only the lower body captured), with sepia colors, a backlight darkening the locutor's face, and its lips not even open ; it's bad and it's not subjective. ^^

This relates to the discussion we had about art btw, with screenarchery being a form of art between photography and painting, and so abiding by some of their rules. Smiley_henri_gaud-belin_HFR.gif

Illustrated text is really justified, as some readers have problems with english, or don't like reading, and so going from half a line subtitles to 6 lines paragraphs of styled english in between images would make quite a difference for them.

GIFs is more debatable indeed ; but it was a choice I did to highlight those who made the effort to add those. And it's one step closer to a video in some case, which again could appeal to different types of readers.

I think the creative vision comes first.

I have plenty of entry having over 200 screenshots. I just finished up some stuff for chapter 10 and the first three entries have ~250 images each :astonished:. But there is simply no way to cut this without compromising the story. Maybe a resolution reduction to sth. like 1600x900 solves the loading problem. Loverslab doesn't give you more space anyway.

I actually like this separation between subtitled and Illustrated text quite a lot, now that you did it.

For example Collygon has a lot of text describing everything, facial expression etc. . I only have spoken word like a subtitle in a movie. When an actor changes its facial expression I try to show that by two consecutive images with different expressions instead of having a narrator telling it.  Also huge parts of the story get carried by the images only (~20 images without a word etc.).

In Collygons, and other peoples cases you could completely remove all images and still had a perfectly reasonable story similar to a book. That wouldn't work with the "subtitled" approach.

It basically comes down whether the images are supporting the text or the text is supporting the images.

You're probably right. And going for slightly lower resolutions/more compression can definitely be a workaround in that case. Smiley_jap_HFR.gif

It's a completely different exercise. And actually I think people doing embedded subtitles or comics would be fully aware of it : you can't just fill-in half a page of text, it just wouldn't fit. You have to compose with a limited space for your text/dialogues, and it greatly influences them.

Whereas, in an illustrated text setting, adding a line just makes the next image one line lower, which doesn't changes anything. And so you can make full use of your style, and refine your descriptions to the max. And so you're right, it's much closer to a novel or a book. Smiley_henri_gaud-belin_HFR.gif

I think the biggest issue with the GIFs section right now is that it just seems completely arbitrary who you included there. WANOBI was highly praised for his GIFs (and the way he added after effects to them was really quite impressive and unique) but he is still in comics, CRW uses gifs to make motion comics but he is in GIFs and so on.

Several people in the subtitles section have also switched to a comic format now (thank god! ?)
