The beginning of Sirrae's journey starts with what she thought would be the end. Aboard a ship leaving Skyrim, a cataclysmic explosion devastates the ship's hull. Filling up with water fast, Sirrae must act quickly in order to survive.

Hey, looks like you found the blog section!

Great first entry! Really nice to see a new blog start up and already be at such a high quality level. The diary format and the shift between writers supplemented by the in scene comic dialogue works very nicely. Looking forward to more!

My, you sure are quick, haha!

Yep, I found it. Thanks so much for your help. I'm still in the process of editing it at the moment, and i'll link it in the old thread when I'm done getting things up to speed. Took me forever just to figure out how to embed images...

And thank you for your kind words!

I agree, for a start, you're already at a quite pleasant quality level. I did appreciate how you mimicked the paper and fonts of the ingame books and messages as narrative captions. So far the scenario isn't too peculiar, but you managed to make it refreshing due to the setting (Stormcloacks ongoing victory) and uncommon characters (an high elf, and an argonian). The dialogues, fashioned in a comic style, also were adapted to the argonian fisherman uneducated thinking, which allowed for fun exchanges. The screens are already well posed/synced, and colored (though too lightly compressed IMO, 1 MB by image may cause problems on larger entries) ; and the narration's tension well cultivated. So you clearly have quite the potential for a good story. Awaiting to see what you'll do of it ! :D

Anyway, that Sirrae gal is very pretty, but if she doesn't want to honey-honey, she shouldn't go around in her underwear. Or else she gonna stab a lot of people. million_dollar_baby.gif »

Yeeaaaah, we'll see how that goes. I'd rather not compress them down any lower. It's already difficult to read some of the text in the entries at 1080p, since these were taken and edited at 1440p.

When it's all wrapped up and finished, maybe I'll explore other ways to upload the higher (source) resolutions. and if the larger filesizes cause problems then I guess I'll cross that bridge when I get there.

My images are generally around 1mb and 1440p and the only time there's ever a problem is when imgbox is imploding ?‍♂️

I wonder why imgbox would implode, though. Shouldn't I to make my images 3x heavier as well, just to make sure the servers die for good ? million_dollar_baby.gif

Jokes aside, I'm not convinced of the benefit to go beyond 1600*900/1920*1080 jpegs at 95 preset in stories, even more considering the tendencies of the sites to spontaneously resize the images. Anyway, as long as it works (most of the time), you can do as you please, but make sure you save your data duly, because 1.2MB per image is too much for me to make occasional saves. :classic_tongue:

It's not really a matter of image size when it implodes. The day I uploaded DCI 2 for example my old stories weren't loading so I checked Drunna, WANOBI and a few others who all used imgbox as well and nothing was loading. When I say implode I mean server issues, etc. on their end so you can keep your sass, mister :unamused::sweat_smile:. I do convert to jpegs At least.

I really like the idea of using the diary style to show internal thoughts of characters! The colors and ENB is gorgeous and shows off your sexy Elf girl really well and the details on the scales of your Argonian. You did an incredible job with your poses and capturing them with really nice, dynamic angles in your screenshots!

Your pictures, angles, poses, action, and expression were all very clear in your screens! I also liked that you used different fonts for the diary entries between the two to prevent confusion who is internally thinking what.

Personal opinion and maybe nitpicking,  I think pictures #12 and #21 could be cropped a bit more to the left as there is quite a bit of empty space (even when keeping the knife in view for #21) and your Diary journal page did cover up some of the action on the right side :P

IMO when servers are slow, it's most often a matter of servers' load ; and infrequently a hardware issue. Servers loads are proportional to the load, which depends on the complexity of requests handled (software, file types and locations) and on everyone's usage of the servers. In other words, for an imagehost, on images amounts and size. Which is why some Imagehosts (such as Postimage and IPB host I think) deliberately choose to recompress and downsize hotlinked files. :classic_tongue:

Yet you do convert to jpeg indeed, so I won't remind my associate of your pony delivery problems. :classic_biggrin:

Nice work... I'm going back to catch up what I missed. I haven't went to blog section in a long time so I often miss new blogs. There is a storytellers discord so if newcomers don't join I would end up knowing to late unless less I stumble on accident or someone informs me of someone is doing great work over here that I've missed. :heart:;)
