I absolutely love this episode! While it might be slower-paced it has multiple subtle nuances that keep the reader guessing as to what is really going on. Is Amelie jealous/distrustful of Thomas or merely curious? Is there a budding relationship between Fina and Stan or are they plotting something? And finally - is Amelie as obedient of a pet as Nora thinks she is?  Of course the answers can be quite simple and the young girl really is that naive but some of the things she talks about (the gate, Nora's fangs, amount of people she killed) can hint that at the very least she has certain doubts about her Mistress. ?

Either way, the episode is as masterfully executed as always and showing the sunset and the lives of mortals in the castle was a very nice touch. ?

While some may find it boring, I say never be afraid to use some down time in the story to set up things for later chapters. That lie to Amelie is a great set up for future events. If I have to watch a sex scene and some characters chatting it up, I'm fine with that. ?

I which I had been a bit clearer about Fina and Stand, I wanted to change it to a kiss instead of merely a nice hug, but there's some time until their story progresses so I think I might be able to fit a kiss in there somewhere. 

With Amelie and Nora, we have to wait and see, but she seemed satisfied with the answers Nora gave her.

Thank you Aureate! You're not wrong about what you just wrote, initially there was mostly the sex scene, but I started adding stuff a bit later to give the entry a bit more substance in within the greater story.

This was a fantastic look into the lives of Nora's servants that we hadn't seen before. I really enjoyed that. It gave a breath of life into the dark world we usually see. It felt very candid, very real", which I thoroughly enjoyed. Great work!

Thanks, one of the ideas was to have a bit more focus on the mortals and their live, like how they deal with having to work at night for example and how they interact with each other. Glad you noticed.

I liked this entry for my part. Sure it's not as eventful and story paced than the best ones you did, and sure it goes a bit into what your blog already explored, but we still get an important glimpse of what Amelie's life and views are as Nora's favorite thrall. The deep, jealous love she feels towards Nora ; the submissive obedience she was educated to ; and also her naivety and fragility her mistress certainly cultivates. Until now, that was only hinted through Amelie's answers to Malicia's comments in fact. The sex part was a bit long, yet made with the same quality than usual, so with an interest of it's own even though not story advancing in itself (yet some character development is shown in it). And with that you opened quite a few ways to unbalance said equilibrium, so the stakes only get more numerous ! ?

We don't know for sure how much Amelie did buy from Nora's lies, but she certainly is blinded by the love she feels towards her. Considering her denial of her mistress' doings of her attraction towards Thomas, and the complete discipline she's been put into, as is I don't see her rebelling against Nora for my part. ?

As said in another comment, I wanted to show some of the humans and their everyday live from the perspective of Amelie and also how she perceives her Mistress. Her answers are more then naive in my opinion.

It's also telling that Fina didn't want to talk about the machinations of Nora, as Fina clearly knows what's going on. So she maintains Amelie's naive and romanticized version of Nora, even though she clearly knows better.

Btw. Amelie is not a thrall , she's a servant like the other named human characters. A thrall, at least in Nora's world, is somone who's meant to be fed on, like the guys in the dungeon.

When you look back at Chapter 1 Section 2 (Remake) we see Nora's servant from back then and she also calls her 'Mistress'. I was trying to imply that Amelie is by far not her first handmaiden with whom she has a relationship like this. The comment of Jonas in the same section towards that servant was also meant that there was another handmaiden before. All blond and some sort of BDSM relationship. 

So Nora has some experience in that regard knows how to treat and manipulate them.
