Very nice entry and very excited and tensed. Glad to see Nora alive. Countess Cheyne is evil but hot.

Oh how the mighty have fallen. Poor Nora... kind of.

The little scene with the skeever made me think of a scene way back in chapter 2(?). It was a flashback of her time in the Imperial City when she was but a fledgling vampire and just got abused in the sewers by her vampire partner.

Also: I got the distinct feeling that Lenora was planning to thow Nora under the bus all along, just not at this point. And that Nora's letter to the duchess forced her to improvise and annoyed her a fair bit. Hence her stressing how much of a whore Nora is. Which seems somewhat weak to me, considering what tends to go on during the blood parties. Heck, Nora even screwed arround in the queens castle during a meeting of the highest nobles and got called out for it, by the queen, in front of everybody. And that didn't stop her from being a baroness. Nor does it appear to have damaged the reputation of anyone else involved.  I suppose even the oh so smart countess can't forsee everything and may occasionally be forced to fall back on less then entirely convincing accusations.

Which I consider to be a good thing, because it makes her appear fallible and hence more interesting as a character.

Overall, my compliments to the author for masterfully setting the stage for the trials and tribulations that await Nora at castle Volkihar.

ok how the heck has she got Harkon by the balls even though she's imprisoned?! that Nora really has some impressive negotiation skills!

Fantastic stuff! So tense and captivating. The dialogue was really well done. Those kind of scenes are really tough to do right. l've absolutely loved how this chapter continues to leave me guessing. Hopefully we won't have to wait as long for the next one?

Thank you, the scene you mentioned was during chapter 7, one of my all time favourites, even though it's a very tragic scene.

I use the "whore" term more as a general insult similar to game of thrones characters ("the whore from High Garden etc. "). In that particularly scene she was trying to appeal to the Duchess by pointing out Nora's debauchery. We know from Chapter 7 Section 9&10 that the Duchess hates this type of behaviour of her kind.

As said before, Nora's behaviour is the norm in her world but the Duchess in particular is not fond of that behaviour in general.

Yeah, I was impressed as well while developing the scene by how strong her position still is.

Thank you very much! Glad you liked the dialogue, this is something I tried to improve on over time. 

Next one is coming soon and was at some point part of this entry, but I decided to split them up.

 I like how you traded sexual tension for a psychological one in this chapter, with an unusual partition played by Nora, both in term of expressions and dialogues. I think however that you had some duplicates (same dialogues on two different images), it also seem to me that you re-used some images as well. But what it lost in pace and conciseness, it gained in precision and suspense ; as we gradually saw Nora exhaust all the arguments she kept for the duchess. Harkon also increased a lot in stature here, and provided two unforeseen twists. Good job on the ambiance building at the start with the skeever (posed or let idle ?), background, and then verticals. Nice chapter !

When I refreshed the page I saw that Tirloque mentioned the errors. How could I forget he would point that out and I wasn't sure if I should mention it. But hey at least I'm looking out for ya and you guys tell me if I did anything wrong so that's good.   

Yeah but other than that the story was great and it seemed like Nora was gonna get a skeever footjob.

Thank you for the explanation. I suppose I have given the duchess abit too much credit here. I assumed that she (as well as any other high ranking vampire) would easily recognize and resist any straight forward attempt at influencing her. Like in this case, where Lenora was yapping at her like an irate puppy to get her way. But considering that the old Count of Hammerfell wasn't the sharpest blade in the Caesar and Hakon is clearly thinking with his little vampire lord as well, it seems only fair that the duchess has a similar "weakness" to be exploited.

Wow, this is a really intense chapter! When it seems that it could not be worse, Nora manages to find a way out of the situation (although more likely this time "way out" finds her). Oh shit, I'm so excited about the games everyone are playing! Great job Alter Native!

The Skeever is just a normal skeever scaled down. When you disable and enable them you can force them to play an idle.

Well in the end they are also just normal people with others around that they like or don't like so influencing them is the most normal thing in the world.

Harkon, is just there to take advantage of the situation, no matter how it plays out.

I actually intended him to be the best schema out of my big three vampires (Isabella, Diana (The Duchess) and Harkon.
