BIG Update Part 3

EnragedBard

So here was my graphics test.  Looks pretty good.

As far as quest mods I also added:

Relics of Hyrule

https://www.nexusmods.com/skyrimspecialedition/mods/12244

Agent of Righteous Might

https://www.nexusmods.com/skyrimspecialedition/mods/29067

Kagrenfalz

https://www.nexusmods.com/skyrimspecialedition/mods/40776

Vigilant

https://www.nexusmods.com/skyrimspecialedition/mods/11849/

Unslaad (Updated to newest version)

https://www.nexusmods.com/skyrimspecialedition/mods/11789

Glenmoril

https://www.nexusmods.com/skyrimspecialedition/mods/32998

Legends of Aetherium

https://www.nexusmods.com/skyrimspecialedition/mods/69807

Hestra's Nest

https://www.nexusmods.com/skyrimspecialedition/mods/70098/

Alpha

(Do a google search!)

Some of them are just radiant 'things' to be done in the world.  The rest are things I'm planning on doing soon.

I spent a couple hours fiddling with 200 MCMs to get them how I wanted them and then I'm going to advance quests to where I want them.

I'm on a character named 'Motherman,' who I'm just going to use to create each of my characters, and have all settings and quests how I want them from the get-go.

Looks like your efforts payed off quite nicely. Can't wait to see D. and friends explore their "overhauled" stomping grounds.?

Somehow that video claims Motherman is called Testguy ... both misleading in my opinion, looks more like a teeny girl to me. ?

While this is Loverslab, hence it fits theme wise, I'm really curious how you are going to make Alpha fit into your story. Guess I will have to wait and see. ^^

At any rate looks pretty good, aye. I still prefer my Whiterun setup, it's a tad more colorful, making it more reminiscence how a medieval city likely looked, but yours looks fine too.

Testguy was just to check. I added more and took more away and had to delete Testguy. Motherman is an adult female Nord.

Part of the reason they're female is to test how I messed with female DAR animations. I had a couple of idles that I absolutely hated that kept popping up so I removed all female idles and redownloaded what I wanted (no way to tell which ones are which if you do them in a large group).

Mostly my Whiterun looks like vanilla with a bunch of stuff built on, which matches the story.  Going to be a fourish year time jump.

Last update before something with actual substance, I swear.  I actually deactivated some of the quest mods if I'm not going to play them right away, and threw on Redbag's Solitude.  I might add a docks expansion if it's not enough.  Anyway, now off to finish tweaking.

No worries about any "lack of substance" in your recent posts. You spend what? 4-5 days? fiddling with far too many menus. So, go and enjoy your game. "LL-Posts of substance" can wait until then.?

Once you got the chance to test it for a bit (if you plan on using it) I would be interested in your opinion on CGO's sweeping 2H hitboxes. I've a love-hate relationship, I guess I would love it if we could configure a hotkey to toggle it.

I mean it's one of the talents I always get on Ordinator. Feels cheap to get it for free.  But I haven't regenerated Runa, Valiana or Roheisa yet.

I just did Destana and went on a mini sojourn.

Oh hey but also according to Precision's page the sweeping perks don't do anything now so I doubt the option in CGO does.

Hey, anybody got any opinions about MCO/ADXP?

Does "I've no idea what those darn acronyms stand for" count as opinion? No? Ok checked the Nexus. Still not sure. Generally I'm not really convinced that everything from a 10 years more advanced game engine should be (and really can be) introduced into Skyrim. We might be able to somehow superimpose it on the Skyrim engine, but more often than not it will not work to well and produce odd results or only affect the player (where it usually can be made to work better at the price of having different systems for NPC's and the PC, which I also don't like).
That said, didn't test those mods and not likely to try anytime soon, unless someone gives me a compelling argument why it will improve my personal game experience.

And aye Precision seems to render those features/perks obsolete, but then I've opted against using it. I'm not a melee person. Even in WoW I usually only played ranged or healer. In Skyrim so far it's been mage or archer builds, with a spellblade as the most melee oriented. Still struggling with this melee build as is tbh. So I didn't feel like something like Precision would help me at all.

Does the Ordinator perk prevent friendly fire somehow? Or how did you avoid accumulating accidental victims (and bounties) left and right from 'helpful' (non-follower) NPC's coming to your aid and getting caught in the arc?

In dungeons it's all right, but outside I feel like half the time I've to stop and switch to a bow or spell in order not to hit some friendly NPC's.

Also just Destana is all right with me. ;)

I'm not sure bout Ord, but Precision definitely does protect your followers.

As you can imagine, I play everything.  I had like 5 characters in WoW, but my three most played were Monk, Druid and Paladin (the ones who can do everything).

OTOH Precision brings you back to the usual 35° arc (more or less ... it's more precise of course ?) for two handed weapons if I understood it right. With that arc I can usually avoid hitting my followers or allies anyway.

Oh, I had a lot of chars in WoW as well, even enjoyed playing a rogue in PvP (even though I wasn't really good at it), but I was in a pretty progress oriented raid guild (and playing an Ele Shami as main, so yes I'm kinda masochistic ?), not so much that they expect you to have several fully raid capable chars, but enough so that it was expected to play our mains to the 'T' and have them equipped, etc. as much as possible (even if most of the good stuff came from the raids of course), so time for twinks was limited.
Btw. can't help to nitpick: Palas and Monks can't do it all, they have no range spec. Druids can of course.

By all I mean the three basic roles.  DPS, Tank, Healer.  Druid just has two DPS specs.

Also, I have DAR Replacers for animations, and with Precision it detects where the weapons actually are (it's basically reverse engineered from Planck, the VR location detection mod).

I'm looking at Coldsun's stuff, and as weird as this may sound, some of the women are TOO hot.  I might pick up one.  Those are the ladies that got blessed by the life waters.

Dude!  Look at Maven Black-Briar!

Infact, if anybody got their hands on the waters, it was probably Maven.  I think I want to get this pack so I can make a big deal out of how hot Maven is with this mod.

Sooo... Is that what Maven looks like, when seen through the lens of Blackbriar-Mead-goggles??? No wonder that stuff is so popular (and pricey). It seems to be rather potent, if it can make Skyrim's No.1 Beer-B*tch look like that. ?

For comparison, here's Bijin Maven, which looks like her age (attractive for her age), but is very high quality.

And here's Vanilla Maven.

But anyway, this had given me an idea for plot points.

"Whoa, Maven!  What happened to you?  You're hot!"

"The waters worked for me, I guess."

"Is this what you looked like when you were 20-something!?"

"Better, actually."

She's one of the outliers.  I'm testing out EasyNPC, so this gives me more to work with.

I'm actually working out the conflicts between Bijin, Pandorable, Dibella's Blessing and now ColdSun and seeing which version I want.

Sounds like all of your NPC's get overhauled too, not just Skyrim itself. ?

I am also looking forward to reading, how you are going to write that little scene with Maven. Since I have a hard time imagining her reacting so... reasonable. Almost like she's talking to someone who she considers her equal. Which IMO would be a rare person, indeed.

I feel like she considers Destana an equal, in this Skyrim anyway.

But yeah the reasons for the life waters plot point were many:

1. Explain the Thalmor's last reserves of strength and fit with chronomancy.

2. ??? (Spoilers, big plot point coming up).

3. Explain the NPCs still being young (and some of them, alive) in 4E 220.

4. Explain some NPCs looking even younger than they used to.

5. Give Damien something new to study with his wizard buddies, and something to find in Alinor.

6. International relations.  Give the other nations a reason not to war with Skyrim, because they provide youth!

To be fair: Maven has a history of cozying up to those, who have enough power (-cough- Thalmor Embassy -cough-). So her being at least civil with the High Queen sounds believable enough. Even more so, since she's Jarl thanks to D.

Let me guess: The appropriate gods & deadra (Sanguine, Dibella and EB) figured, that the people of Skyrim simply don't look good enough and therefore gave them a proper, all-inclusive makeover.?

Well, it's either HM's guess ... or more likely, that's what you get from messing with the timestream (or in Skyrims case have your timestream messed with), time might simply not work properly for everyone, or everwhere ... imagine having a bedroom where time flows backward at an accelerated rate ... so for every night spend you get a full day younger ... well physics would probably go havok with negative time flow, but they that's why it is fantasy not Sci-Fi, you can get away with such things, cause it's a magical effect. ^^)

Also I agree about ColdSuns, as mentioned I'm using a mix of Bijin and ColdSun (well and Modpocalypse to cover the holes ... most of them anyway). That's why I like the latest iteration of Coldsuns replacers, you can easily pick exactly which NPC's you want from them.

Okok, you now got me to install it after all, should you suddenly grow any warts or so, it's likely because I'm cursing you. ?

Ok removed Precision again, in populated region I lose 20-25 fps with it installed, which brings say Whiterun from an okayish 48-50 fps to an unbearable 25'ish fps. Don't get why that happens, but well I will wait for it to mature a little and perhaps try again later.
It also seems to cause massive misalignements in Sexlab scenes, that only affects the 3BA body though, so you likely don't notice it. Seems there is a workaround, but heck with all the other bugs there seem to be, I guess waiting a bit is the wiser path.
