* * Just a fun little SMV (Skyrim Music Video) I made with some SMP stuff XD* * SMV_BlueWaves.mp4 GIFS I wanted to upgrade one of my favorite hair wigs called Lime from KS Hairdo's pack. So, I remade it with extra bones in outfit studio (previously the wig only had one bone 🤢). This version has multiple branched bones for more realistic physics that have all been weight painted. The other new thing I tried with this wig was to use a different shader in nifskope. Normally most wigs will use a Hair Shader under BSLightingShaderProperty so that racemenu can change the color. However, I wanted the hair to sort of glow with sub surface scattering around the edges (I'm not sure if there is a way to do this in Skyrim) so I ended up experimenting with a glow shader. I made a gradient glow map texture in photoshop and hooked it up with an emmissive color in nifskope. Basically the white parts of the texture shows the emmissive color and the black part masks it, resulting in glowing edges. I think it sort of looks cool. The upside is the emmissive color can be anything so you can have gradient hair or highlights of different colors. The downside is since its not a Hair Shader anymore in nifskope, the hair texture had to be manually colored outside of skyrim. So I ended up making 5 colors for the wig (Green, Blue, Pink, Blonde and Purple). The other small thing I did was blur the Normal texture so that the hair appears smoother/silkier. For the video, I used a lot of my ENB Light Objects mod and some WIP stuff too including the flickering neon sign and the custom condom strap with SMP physics. I've been getting more practice with making smp physics based accessories so if anyone is interested, let me know. I can make a tutorial on how to add SMP bones to an existing object and configure the .xml to make things like the condom strap, hair or elf ear physics.
