An Aside

So I figured I'd just take a moment and talk.  For one, part of the original premise of the blog was that Destana was pregnant in Windstad, and I've already passed that point.  I'm going to continue writing in past tense first person semi-omniscient.  Also, I'm going to do a summary of everything up 'til now, so everyone (including myself) can keep it straight.  I kept pretty detailed notes and took a decent amount of screenshots while I was playing, because I had an inkling I wanted to do something like this when I started.  You know, actually have a record of myself playing this, and its a way of having a guided roleplay/story.  I like the thought of having a character that actually fits into the world.  And I love writing.  This may be a bit game-mentioning.

Plot Summary

Entry 1-6

I am Destana, originally from Hammerfell.  I was a sailor, originally coming to Skyrim on a ship that is now is out of business at the age of 19, in 4E 201.  I came to Riften for the purpose of joining the Thieves Guild.  I was sent on a host of jobs to the other side of Skyrim to get me out of the way.  I participated in a drinking contest with Sam Guivenne (Sanguine) and I woke up across Skyrim.  When I got to Solitude, I was put in prison on BS pretenses and beaten and manhandled by the unnamed Jailer and atleast a dozen men and women in Solitude for about two weeks.  Then I was sold into slavery, where the slaver took me into dungeons.  She protected and helped me until she was killed and then I got raped again by bandits.  This time, though, I escaped and made my way back to Solitude and robbed the place.  I returned to the Thieves Guild and turned in all my loot, having gained a lot of skills and hardened by my experiences.

Entry 7&8

I continued to make a name for myself, doing many jobs for the Thieves' Guild.  I also killed Grelod the Kind for Aventus.  I met Sanguine again and spent a few wild nights in his Oblivion realm, agreeing to be his Aspirant.  This is when I started to fall in love with the Daedric Prince.

Entry 9

Found out I was pregnant with my first child and started nesting.  I joined the college of winterhold and attended a few classes.  I was snatched by the Dark Brotherhood for killing Grelod the Kind.

Entry 10&11

I mad-dashed to Thanehood in Riften during the weekend between classes at the College.  I attend classes, do a bunch of dungeons and get betrayed by Mercer Frey from the Thieves' Guild.

Entry 12

Did a whole entry on Markarth as I searched for how to translate Mercer's journal (and prove him guilty) and delved the ruins for several other reasons.

Entry 13-15 (1 Year in Skyrim Mark)

I finally join the Stormcloaks and recruit several followers, taking a backseat to them (to take myself out of danger).  Throughout the course of my pregnancy (and a little after) I pursue the campaign against Imperial occupation.  At the end of this Entry, I've been in Skyrim about a year.  Over the course of the year, I make the Thieves' Guild great and they offer to make me guildmaster.  Damien Guevenne is born.  He's dark with my eyes, but he turns light like a Nord, with blond hair.  During this period, I kill my first dragon, I talk to the Greybeards and tell them off for trying to saddle me with 'destiny.'  Sanguine and I also spend more time together, and I convince him to marry me and come live on Nirn for a while.

Entry 16

A whole entry where I go back to Solitude and solve all their problems, buy Windstad Manor, and build it.  My second child is born, father is Ulfric (from the campaign).  His name is Fenrir Stormcloak.  I officially move out of Riften and adopt Runa Fair-Shield, who at this time was 8.

Entry 17 (9 Years in Skyrim Mark)

This is a much larger time skip.  It's 4E 210, I'm 28 and I've been in Skyrim for 9 years now.  Over the period, I take a much needed vacation, doing oddjobs throughout the province but nothing major (except very basically the Horn of Jurgen Windcaller).  Big things to take away is Runa, Damien and Fenrir grow up.  Runa goes on adventures with me. Even though she's only 15, she has quite a lot of skill with Greatswords (and good equipment, from me).  During the entry itself, I find the unnamed Jailer and get my revenge.  And because I performed the Black Sacrament to get him killed (because of my years of no success) and Runa finishes him off, Astrid abducts her.

Entry 18

Runa is made Listener of the Dark Brotherhood and we do jobs for them.  Damien goes to college.  Fenrir goes for an extended visit to Ulfric, who is teaching him to be a 'true warrior.'  Sanguine leaves for some kind of war in Oblivion. The DB is contacted to kill Emperor Titus Mede II.  We go through a lot to prepare for it.

Entry 19&20

Awaiting the Emperor's arrival, Runa goes on a side quest to train her skills.  I go to Helgen and meet some new friends.  I help Helgen be reborn.  I become a vampire from the fight cave.

Entry 21

I talk to the Dawnguard about vampirism (ultimately unhelpful).  I kill the Gourmet, but I send Runa to infiltrate (since I'm obviously a vampire).  We get tricked and the DB sanctuary is torched, but we're able to save about half the brotherhood.  We kill Astrid (who betrayed us), then kill the Emperor for real.

Future

This is a bridge between the story told here, and where I am now.  I don't want to give away huge parts of the story, but I do want to take suggestions and see thoughts (If many people are still reading this).  For anybody enjoying the surprise, I'm going to put up a spoiler (though it will be broad strokes).

Spoiler

Broad strokes where I go next - Rescue Serana.  Visit Damien+College quests.  Moon and Star.  Moonpath to Elswyer.  Dark Brotherhood+ Quests (Not all of them).  DG (vampire side) up to 'we require more Elder Scrolls.'  Main Quest.  Finish DG.  Companions/A Forsworn Story.  I did them in concert with each other, though I finished Companions and am still working on AFS because there's a lot.  And that's where I am now.

Believe me, there's going to be a lot of other stuff in there.  And a couple of BIG things that can't be summarized in giving the names of questlines.

What I'm thinking about -

1. What to do with Fenrir, though, see 4.

2. If I should pursue Manantis quests with Damien, I haven't been able to get them working.

3. Beyond Skyrim: Cyrodiil is supposed to deal with the aftermath of the Emperor dying.  But, as it's been in development for 6 years, there's no telling when it will come out.  So I am considering doing Rigmor of Cyrodiil.  Because killing the Emperor is a BIG DEAL, and no mod seems to cover that besides these two.

4. Some combination between Become High King where I just make Ulfric High King, the Second Great War, and Invading Elven Lands.

5. Possibly sprinkled in here, doing some huge dungeon mods.  For the most part, probably just going to summarize the entire mod in a single entry and give my thoughts.  This can get dry pretty quickly.  Might also bring companions to make it more palatable (for both me and you).

The pictures below are:

(First row, Left to right): Destana upon arrival, Destana in prison, Destana during Civil War, Destana recent, Destana recent Vampire, Sam Guivenne, Sanguine.

(Second row, left to right): Runa as a small child, Runa as tween, Runa as 15, Fenrir as child, Fenrir after being with Ulfric for a while, Damien as a child, Damien after being with college.

I realize Runa's eye color changed, but I blame that on the Hearthfire Children Grow Up mod, and I just went with how she looked as a tween when I created a teenage version.  I think Fenrir is pretty spot on, but Damien looks like his father's rugged chin is coming in a lot more in the final shot.

Nice summary of past events. And still big plans for the future, I see. I am looking forward to reading more about D.'s misadventures all over skyrim and beyond.

As an aside: If Destana ever get's to solving the whole dragon issue, there really should be a hilarious sceen, when she get's to sovngarde and is checked by Tsun. And all her involvements with the various daedric lords come to light. I know there won't be anything like that in the game, but my headcanon says there should be, and that it would be comedic gold.

p.s. Nevermind the "If Destana ever..."-thing. I just read the spoiler and realized the Main Quest is already done. And the story just hasn't caught up with it.

I wonder what Harkon has to offer if you are already a Vampire? I guess he can 'upgrade' you to Vampire Lord? Never tried that. Also wonder how sacrosanct handles the switch.

Manantis quests ... might be nice to round out the story, but if they give you trouble, not sure it's worth it. It's not unlikely that they they will eventually break, even if you get them to work somehow.

Yeah, she's going to handle the dragons.  But it takes a lot of convincing, something big.  The Sovngarde idea... I might steal (since I am taking some creative license to explain what's going on sometimes), because it makes a lot of sense that Ysmir is like, "WHAT have you been doing down there?"

Serana ?

My thoughts exactly.  And I have Serana mods.  And of course, the most hilarious part about Serana (modded) is that she roasts Sofia about being an idiot.  And of course, good conversations with Inigo and such.

Yeah, Harkon just makes you into a Vamp Lord if you're a vampire.  He says something like, "She's not a true vampire.  She caught a disease, that is all.  I'm offering true power."  Sacrosanct totally upgrades the VLord tree to be awesome, there's even a few perks that improve normal vampire abilities.

Meh, I'll probably just try playing as Damien and see if I can get Manantis to work.  If not, no harm.

I can't wait to see how it turns out. I've never played with Serana and Sofia at the same time. I don't know Inigo though, or at least I don't remember him.

Serana cutting Sofia down a peg or two? I like the sound of that. I like Sofia but she can be abit too sure of herself at times.

Plus I have never played the vampire side of DG. Looking forward to that too.
