About this blog

Well, here it is.  The story of the snarky badass reluctant Dragonborn who's lived in Skyrim for fifteen years.

Come along as I feed my most rabid addiction: exploration and adventure.  And, I guess, solving other people's problems in the least heroic ways possible.

This is my story.  Destana Stormblade.  Once a prisoner, a slave.  Once a refugee from Hammerfell.

Now, Queen of Skyrim!  Master thief.  Assassin.  Mage.  Vampire Lord.  Sometimes, sex-object.  Lover of Sanguine, Ulfric Stormcloak and Serana of Volkihar.  Mother of Runa Septim, Damien Guevenne, and Fenrir Stormcloak.  Grandmother to Oddvar, Kintyra and Sinidar.

Entry 79.5: Group Therapy Session

Author's Note: Not a full entry, just wanted to drop a video of the thing I did not describe or show.  May be a little rough, and is uncompressed so probably good quality.   Group Therapy After Valenwood.mp4     Also, going to say I'm going to be gone for a couple weeks.  (Next week and the week after).  I'll probably be working on an entry, but it might be a little slower than usual.

Entry 14: The Nine Months War

Hey, it's me, Destana.  At this point, I'd been living in Skyrim for about four months, and it was right around Saturnalia and the turning of the new year to 2E 202.  I turned 19 back in Last Seed (I know, I'm younger than you might think on account of my mad skills).   Last time Ulfric Stormcloak sent me to deliver an axe to Jarl Balgruuf of Whiterun.  I was accompanied by an entourage of Inigo, Vilja, Sofia and Shirley.  I'd been to Whiterun previously (even recently, infact to conta

Entry 15: Stormblade? Stormsheath, belike.

Hey, it's me, Destana.  After a year of making the Thieves' Guild great, learning to play Lute better, slaying dragons, raiding forts and 'persuading' them to join the Stormcloaks, attending magic college and having Damien, my son (with a couple months off before and a week off after for me), Ulfric and the gang were ready to raid Solitude.  I decided I would leave Damien with Iona and Sanguine.  He didn't want to get involved this time.  Something about meddling in the affairs of mortals far to

Entry 79: Death Uncarnate

Hey, this is Destana.  I think I'm going to compile stories I'm not there for again today. We finished our victory party (the army was also celebrating down in Haven with the locals).  And I addressed the command group in the morning.    "Good morning.  I can see you're all pretty tired after two battles and partying all night. Anyway, good job everybody.  I'm not one for big speeches like Ulfric.  We're going to meet off the coast of Alinor in about a week.  See you on the fifth of Ra

Entry 78: The Final Countdown

Hello audience, this is Damien.  Since we took Silvenaar I've been coordinating the movements of the groups via missives.  I've actually improved on their original spell a little bit.  (Dang High Rock wizards have nothing on me!)  I write a message, and a duplicate message appears in the pocket of a person I know with pretty-much unlimited range on the same plane of existence (that much is the same as the original).  But!  The person can write an up-to 25 word response on the letter and I will s

Entry 77: Two Nights from Hell

"You're Fenrir's friend, right?" Ulfric asked, "I heard what the old Stormcloaks put you through and I want you to know I've been doing everything in my power to stamp out that behavior." "Well thanks.  Name's Valiana Direnni by the way," I said back.      "I appreciate everything you've done for Skyrim recently," Ulfric continued, "I wanted to ask if you'd be willing to do a mission for me. You can say no, I'm not your king. Consider it a favor. It'd mean a lot."

Entry 75: Team Skyrim World Police

This is Destana again.  For the sake of brevity, I'm going to be telling a lot of the story.  Even the parts I'm not there for (as described to me later by various sources).  We set out from Solitude on the 17th of First Seed, 216 with the fleet and airship.  When we were out in the deep blue ocean, the airship peeled off to meet the small body of ships coming out of Daggerfall and Wayrest.  They hadn't contributed as much as Skyrim, but this was our war.  The kids went with the airship to meet

Entry 76: Sexcapades in Valenwood

Hey, it's Destana.  We're currently invading Valenwood.  Of the main cities, we hold Arenthia [Cyrodiil got it] and Woodhearth [Skyrim got it].  I keep calling it Arentina, which is unfortunate.     The morning after our planning meeting, Jura and Galachad (Sir Galahad Maynard) led a small strike force to the front gates of Falinesti while Runa, Roheisa and I snuck in the side.  It was surrounded by a creek on at least one side, which didn't provide a lot of protection again

Entry 74: Loose Ends

Hi.  Destana again.  Last time I ventured into the Hall of Initiation, solved a series of thief-related puzzles, then ventured into the Alik'r Desert.  I traveled around for a couple days, eventually finding myself in the town of Salas Kazas.  To date, I'd gotten both the pieces of the puzzle to entering the Champion of Cyrodiil's mausoleum and I'd also done a number of side quests for the Dark Brotherhood, an old man looking for the old Blades HQ here, and a few other random things.  I slept fo

Entry 72: Dunerippin' It Up!

Hey there, it's Destana back again.  I've been having quite the adventure in the Alik'r Desert.  Last time I got through all the trials to get here, I traveled the desert for a while, killed some Dunerippers.    I ended at the Forgotten City, and when Nahtil and I walked in, a dozen ghosts came out of the buildings.  Even though I was trying to be stealthy, they noticed me immediately.  I laid into them with arrows, blasted them with Unrelenting Force, and then even more came out.  One

Entry 71: Think Like A Thief

Hey, it's Destana.  Today I ventured into the depths of the Hall of Initiation.  This is a place fraught with puzzles, with not a lot of conflict.  I was told to think like a thief.    So I walked up to the dais with a teleporter, and behind me a small opening appeared, with a Grey Fox bust.  When I touched it, a pillar of light appeared on the dais.  I ventured inside.  I was taken to a long pathway high above the countryside.  Venturing further, I found a room with treasure and a loc

Entry 68: Double Princess'ed

Hey, this is Runa.  Recently I got some new weapons and fought Molag Bal with Boethiah's help.  Morag Sethius was killed in the blast and we (Calleius, Jura and I) made our way back to Quintus' camp, meeting up with Rigmor, Sethri, Quintus and Camaeus.  Sorella and Casius left with his crew and I was surprised to find Chancellor Blackwell, waiting for us, ready to discuss terms.     Rigmor and I sat at the table.  I said, "You took a risk coming here, Blackwell." "I hav

Entry 67: Behold, My Otherworldly Weapon

Hey, this is Runa.  I'm carrying the Eye of Boethiah and Scourge, Malacath's mace. Continuing on our journey to Table Mountain, Calleius, Jura, Rigmor, Sorella and I found Casius' camp near the Cyrodiil-Hammerfell border.  It was pouring rain, it was the middle of the night, we'd fought two battles at Bruma and a small skirmish on the way.  The men were dead tired, setting up the big tent and going to sleep immediately.  I sat with the girls and Casius, finding a strange sort-of energy carrying

Entry 66: Siegebreaker

Hey, it's Runa.  Last time we passed through Skyrim, making a short stay at Falkreath to ask Jarl Yngol if he could spare home help (and his daughter for the trouble at Table Mountain).  A nice scholar named Lucien Flavius guided us to an Ayleid tunnel just past Fort Neugrad.    We arrived at the tunnel at nightfall and resolved to continue on.       We passed over a land bridge to a deep chasm, and some ransacked treasure chests.  I casted a light spell.

Entry 65: Rebuilding Bridges Across Four Provinces

Hey, one more Fenrir joint and I'll shut up for a while.  Last time we got the Guivenne's a house - a faulty wizard's tower.  Then we went and checked the Blades' progress and Brisienna and Inigo stayed at Sky Haven Temple.  Then we managed to track down one of Damien's old friends - Medora Direnni.  She asked if we could find her daughter.  We started with Morreath and Folkstead.   Ultimately Folkstead wasn't very interesting.  Like one of Skyrim's small towns, it was only a ring of h

Entry 64: House Hunters Skyrim Edition

Hey, it's Fenrir.  We decided I'm writing this down after I managed to beat both my mom and Damien in a game of rock-paper-scissors for who is the focus today.  Last time I came back from Elsweyr with Inigo and Sofia, but that's not relevant right now.     We decided when we reported in to Windhelm that we'd split up, but our plans were immediately interrupted by a letter appearing in mine and my mom's pockets.   I read mine, "Hey, isn't this a great spell I learned in

Entry 63: Air and Desert Power

Hey everybody, it's Fenrir!  I'm headed to Elsweyr with Shirley to look for Inigo and Sofia, and feel out if the Khajiit would be amenable to rebellion against the Thalmor.  First I decided I would hit the Smithery and craft some Lighter armor and a new shield.  I've been working on my enchanting (very good) and alchemy (fair) because I have no skill with restoration so I need to rely on potions.  I also crafted a Dwemer Autocannon, which will help me immensely against large groups.  I also brou

Entry 62: Adventures on the High Seas!

Hey, it's Runa, one more time.  Last time Jura, Calleius and I rescued Rigmor from the Roscrea prison, during an unexpected attack by Akiviri.  We traversed the frozen Tundra and found the southern, alpine portion.  Rigmor got sick from the Akiviri's disease called the Living Death, and an old woman in the woods cured her, with my help.   I woke up in the chair.   As I was rubbing the sleep from my eyes, Rigmor, up and about, was saying, "So you spent how many years as a slav

Entry 61: Coming Out of My Cage

Hey there.  Runa again.  Last time was a whirlwind of emotion (but not really action).  Rigmor signed the Noble Decree, then they branded her with treason, cut her hair and set her prison on fire.  Turns out it was all a ruse to get me and Jura.  We braved the labyrinth, spoke with and ended the ancient minotaur's suffering by his request, then got to a boat to take us to Roscrea.    Morag told me Rigmor was already on her way to Roscrea when the fire broke out, so no suspense there.

Entry 60: Runa is NOT the Dragonborn

Hey, this is Runa.  I'm in the Imperial City and last time it became apparent that they want to make their Empire a thing again and not just Cyrodiil + High Rock.  Rigmor signed the Noble Decree and Ser Robere proposed to her to shield her from whatever the other Counts and the Emperor were planning.     Robere wanted to speak with me in private again - off to the side of the audience chamber. "I found out what's going on.  There's a ventilation shaft behind the wall th

Entry 59: Have Blade, Will (Time) Travel

Hello.  Damien again.  I'll dive right in.  Last time I managed to find out who killed King Lysandus (by speaking with his ghost) and get 'im.  I saved the Blades and found out Brisienna is a Blade, then got a mission from them to steal back the Totem of Tiber Septim from Castle Daggerfall.  Then I contacted my dad Sanguine via the conventional means back in the Third Era - murder and sex.  I found out I can summon items that were on me when I timeported here, and I asked dad to tell me to have

Entry 58: Vengeance Granted

Hello.  This is Damien.  I feel like it's been a week since I made a journal entry, so I'll sum up what I've been doing.     After the Thalmor war I found the secrets to chronomancy in Viranir's notes and found she was going to try and change history, so I cast her spell and ended up 200 years in the past.  I found I was thrust into the role of the Hero of Daggerfall.  After meeting Ocato (The Eternal Champion) and Uriel Septim VII, I went off to fix all of Illiac Bay's problems.  I be

Entry 56: My Unfair Lady

Hey, it’s me, Runa!  I volunteered to travel to Cyrodiil to figure out how I can get them on our side, while Fenrir went to Elswyer.  Oh yeah, we’re going to invade Alinor!   Mom gave me a letter from Sigunn of Bruma, asking for our help with Rigmor, an old friend of ours.  She also happens to be the Countess of Bruma, which is a good starting point for getting in with the new Emperor.  Anyway, I headed to Falkreath, meeting up with General Jura, Agrippina and Legate Calleius and sayin

Entry 55: Hands off the Locals!

Hey, it's Damien again.  I'm trapped in western and southern High Rock in 3E 405 (mostly my fault, but I had honest intentions).  On the power scale of me being magically castrated by the time travel, I've progressed from kitten to large housecat.  I've mostly spent a handful of days traveling around this cursed land, doing quests for the royals scattered amongst their castles.     Currently in Sentinel, which gave me clear Hammerfell vibes (from what I've read) with the deserts and tr

Entry 54: A Troubled Past

Hello audience.  This is Damien.  In the hopes of thwarting Viranir, I followed her into the past, casting a very complex spell and arriving in Daggerfall in 3E 405.  I decided I would go along with what was in front of me: a mission from Uriel Septim VII to Daggerfall, only to find her in the same predicament I now found myself in, but as a ghost.  I also found as part of my transportation here I've been reduced in power similar to that of a day 1 adventurer.   It makes me wonder who
