If I never played 'Plush' again it would be too soon.

Every time I hear that song, I want to go back and relive playing GTA San Andreas that first time (the old version WITH the hot coffee mod, yup bought that at CompUSA for way too much)

And restaurants still have to pay off health inspectors. Seriously - that sign just means you'll pay more for everything inside. What kind of certificates? What are the qualifications of the 'inspectors'? What exactly do they offer that the department of health doesn't? The Earth has become so cringe the other planets are considering ejecting us from this solar system.

The tabs at the bottom of the different plans are misspelled. They mean to say 'Be rolled now'.

Sticks and stones may break my bones but game journalists will always be stupid (most of them at least). I mean honestly, such disconnect should be a crime altogether. Though i suppose it's too hilarious to be one.

Ah, celebrities. Where would we be without them and their in-depth knowledge of every subject under the sun?

Once again I am reminded that it is not easy being green. That is why everyone needs pink dye. Cringer would have been stunning and brave if he could have gotten his paws on some of that.

Not gonna lie skimmed the video. I kind of get the gist of it. Evil races are bad writing. Having an entire race be evil without at least one thinking "hey this is wrong" Is very improbable. There are exceptions to this rule like Scott Ridley's Aliens who are evil for the sake of surviving as a species. They were probably talking about an evil for evil's sake villain which isn't dumb by itself but a whole race of them? This sounds like a very specific niche that would be hard to find an example of. I don't know if I am playing devil's advocate with this but this is my takeaway.

You're definitely not. If a race/species is shown to be capable of building functioning societies with technology and infrastructure then it's absurd to portray that whole race/species as 100% evil. This is why i always say "All Of Them Are Like That" is a retarded mentality to have and in writing terms quite a low hanging fruit. There is a catch however, if there's a hierarchal narrative at place where a species may be very cruel to another because they see themselves as far superior and advanced then that kind of plot can work if done carefully. I mean, it is a very real concept after all, some are even proud to adhere to it.

The recurring fantasy/sci-fi species which they picked for the example was not only one of the worst that they could have picked for the topic (literal animated fungus men created as tools for war in at least one case) but that is not even the worst of it. The connection of fantasy species to real human 'races' is itself a lazy trope resorted to by those incapable of proper speculation about other sapient species.  Worse still is the fact that they first thought of more heavily melanated races as the real world equivalent of Orcs.

That says far more about them than it does any author around the world who makes use of one of the 'Construct' versions of that fantasy species.

Even the idea that all variants of specific recurring fantasy races are all or even mostly the same is fallacious as anyone who even has a cursory knowledge of The Elder Scrolls series or Warcraft already knows. Our Elves/Orcs/Dragons are Different. The 'Living Weapon' variants are no worse a writing tool than the nuanced multi-layered one in much the same way as a hammer is not a worse tool than a scalpel.

Seeing racial allegory where is does not belong (or actually attempting to insert it where it does not belong) is no different than when people were seeing religious symbolism in cultural products from around the world, even in places where the religions whose symbols that they see are uncommonly practiced if it is practiced at all.

It is encouraging that there is not just one subset of people who see the troubles in using race allegory with members of other species lest it could be easily dismissed by extremists.

This is the issue. No one woke up and went ORKS IS BLAX PEEPLEZ ARMARGAR CALL THE WEEZARDZ.

100% manufactured. The main problem is you have places like 4chan that take this fuck obvious bait every. single. time. Which allows this shit to then drive a narrative. A 100% manufactured narrative.

A line of argumentation in the "Wat Pisses You Off?" Thread bought my mind back to the idea of technologies which are likely being suppressed for one reason or another, be it financial (the electric car for decades), man-animal hybrids (for moral reasons back in the early 21st Century) and human portable nuclear warhead launchers (Davy Crocketts) for safety and sanity reasons.

I wonder if the different methods for creating Artificial Wombs (mechanical or ones made from cloned tissues without a body) are being blocked due to potential harm caused by groups who could sustain their numbers without female members indefinitely, perhaps harm that could be done to women by said groups when women become as expendable as anyone else on the battlefield by said groups.
