For the five users that still think the Nexus is your buddy.

I don't see why it's such a big issue. You people just got such a huge hateboner for Nexus, I can't take your complaints seriously.
Nexus is still vastly better than the closed and DRM'd alternatives out there.

Lol So what? Bottom line reality is, If you aren't making mods that are significant, what you see, think and feel about modding doesn't really have any significance. There is no hosting files, or using files, showcasing files, or the "community" of sharing files... unless someone makes those files. Some of yall folks are out of touch with reality by a FAR shot lmao

The funny thing is, they used to criticize Arthmoor, now they are on the same side, which just shows the bias here is towards people (the Nexus staff), not towards methods (automated mod lists versus vanity modding). Rent free.

Reminder I don't have anything against Arthmoor. I just disagree with him. This is normal in a open society. Not the case in reddit-style mob rule.

Been explained a few times over this thread why peeps feel it is a big issue

What free modding site has DRM on it?

Oh look! Whoever put together the mod list/pack is the MA (author if you couldn't guess children) to cheer about! Never mind those individual asshats with tude that... like... actually made the content. We keep those fools locked in a back room slaving away so you wonderful users don't have to have any messy interactions with them. :smirk:

I only intend to play through Skyrim once, I begin to think modlists are for those who play through it once each week and begin to get bored.

The way I see it is this: If someone goes to the trouble to make a mod for a game and share it with everyone giving detailed instructions on everything about it and all they ask is some recognition for it and maybe some positive feedback, then I sure as hell don't mind giving them that and maybe a little more if I'm really happy. It's sort of like an unspoken agreement and mod paks break that agreement. Nobody wants to feel used/taken for granted which is exactly what this does. Those talented, knowledgeable authors of mods won't stop what they're doing. No, they'll just stop sharing and they will be missed. Even the ones that stay are going to think twice before uploading new content or even updating.

Wrong.

Given your mental aptitude and condition, you are in absolutely no place to be telling anyone else what or how to think.

Do I have to remember again that the tones have to be kept down?

You are free to disagree.

You are NOT free to insult.

"Some people mod for vanity, it's like their parlor, you walk in their(diva's) parlor, they show off their goods, but for us, we(the humble) work together to build something grander, more complex....for the bigger picture... as such it's like building a cathedral.... Some people just open their own parlor, but we're building a CATHEDRAL over here baby..... yeeeaah" lol It's basically some shit like that, hope that helps with the confusion lol

Plenty incurred.

Still doesn't equivocate telling someone what their opinion is or should be.

Rendering an opinion != "this is the law".

Nexus moderators are saints compared to LL moderators.

They're all cut from the same 'because I said so' cloth.

Well, what Dork0ne is essentially doing is holding Bethesda IP (the esms/esps) behind an implied pay wall.  BUT all these modders with Patreon accounts are doing the same thing; soliciting donations for things they don't actually own.  Meshes/textures = yes.  ESMs/ESPs =no.

What would be a real hoot is Bethesda suspending Dork0ne's Bethesda.net account so he can't play the games anymore.  They've done it to other people guilty of less.

Technically you can create ESPs without Bethesda's CK with TESVEdit, although I could be wrong because I'm not sure of the terms of that mod.

Bodyslide is a no go as far as I can remember, they used to drop takedowns on Patreons that had bodyslide files and people quit that real quick.

X-edit works just fine. That is how I make some of my mods.

Last I checked Bodyslide outfits are still on Patreon. Maybe...

yeah i basically got shut down for asking about a sims 4 modder who got blacklisted from the site awhile back, just some questions regarding the legitimacy of the ban and if the claims the modder stole assets was valid or not, then immediate penalty that will forever be stuck on my account for bothering to ask.

Ok i was going off what two people not sure how reliable it is. just wanted to say i heard that. my mistrust betheseda go beyond the mods. i dont think it has much to do with mods. more their ppr and stuff

as more and more mods are abandoned due to the passage of time, or maliciously deleted by a minority of skilled but mentally unstable devs over what can only charitably be called teenage drama (somewhat ironically undermining the work of other modders  in turn

Where is it malicious to delete ones own files from a Website they don't agree with anymore? Where is it teenage drama when someone who works hours on end on something they really are passionate about getting pissed because someone just decides "Hey you know what? It's mine now, fuck off"?

the Problems are not the Modpacks, the problem is the way it is handled right now.  Many other People, some of them by far better suited then i am to tell you this said, there where many better ways to implement mod packs. One if which is just giving Modders a tiniy, shiny button on the upload page or in their profil "You can put it in one of ya modpacks/ You shall not put this in one of ya modpacks." Or just plane say "Uff well when you put your mod down, i guess i have no other choice but to alter the modpacks your mod is a part of.. Sucks but it's your work and i understand and respect your choice."

Why the royally, god forsaken fuck is it so hard to understand that someone just gets PISSED when a Big Site takes away their right do nuke their free work just because it's more convenient then asking for permission or altering broken Packs?
