What's on your mind?

May be a rant, and likely to push the limits on politics, but hopefully this will be seen as not as a divisive post but one that speaks to a sentiment that is shared by many.

 

I wonder what is my political leaning these days, when the options are only  1) screw all of you, I am taking my pail and going home (i.e. ignore it all), 2) the "left" (who requires absolute belief in their ideology, i.e. the ends justify the means such as cancel culture, etc.) 3) the "right" (authoritarianism isn't a bad thing ....as long as we are in charge and so what if our current idol is a cult of personality, what he believes we believe) or 4) "independent" which means...... you get attacked by the left and the right for not being one of them.

 

Now, in this particular site, I believe that I can share opinions, thoughts, comments, etc. with some of those who are likely of opposite political beliefs, as long as we stay clear of hot button items (or "dog whistles") and have a decent place.     That is the point, in my opinion.    We all share a common desire to have a common space to share things that we all hold dear, likely PC gaming, modding, sexy images (be it of whatever your fancy is) and music.    No doubt there are other sites (Kendo2, I like yours but....you don't have quite the same diverse conversations there as we do here, but I do like the mods there, esp for FONV) but I have not found them.  

 

I suppose what is on my mind is that I wished there was another option of "give me the best of the left and of the right" party.   Ah well, just  what is on my mind.

Just don't like the idea of 'games as a service'. Like he was saying at one point, it seems like they are manipulating things to where they maintain more control over a product they sell us where it shouldn't legally be acceptable and that the EULA that ppl agree to with them shouldn't be legally binding (and in fact wouldn't be in most courts worldwide). Doesn't bode well for modding or our rights as consumers when the service providers can pull the plug on things literally whenever they want for any reason whatsoever (like it's no longer profitable). Don't know about you, but when I pay for a game I expect it to stay in my possession and work for as long as I want it.

 

Anyway, not really a good summary on my part and should really watch the vid to understand what's being said and why.

I'm wondering about the future of the species and how modern medical science has saved too many stupid people from becoming victims of natural selection.  I think we are witnessing the end of the American empire and am wondering what's next and how we will survive.

Another nation would rise to prominence and they would almost certainly outlaw whatever type of foolishness bought about America's downfall. It would not be too different than any other shift in power from one empire to the next at any other point in history other than the ruin would be inflicted entirely from the inside out rather than the inverse.

Medical science is stronger than natural selection. The end of days is here to stay and live another day. But then again it is a matter of perspective. After all humans die every day more often from their own stupidity than not. Some people want to think an empire is done for and mostly so they can play their stupid blame game. With the frequency people call doomsday on a civilization eventually one of those people will be correct and the sun will die out and humans with it.
