I do agree that villains are generally one of two flavors, either incredibly nuanced or evil for the sake of being evil. But I will have to disagree that pure evil villains is bad writing. Pure evil villains can be used in stories correctly as something to compete against the protagonist of the story who we are generally following anyway. One generally doesn't watch a movie for the side characters kind of thing. And besides even cardboard cutouts lets say the Joker have some personality as in the Joker's case it is simply desire, desire to torture, murder and stuff but desire nonetheless. You can even find real life examples out there. I won't say which ones I am thinking of for even the scum of the earth has their fans but as I said before, pure evil villains fill in a role and isn't that what really matters?

I think young Bruce got lost on Wayne Manor and found the bat cave when very young. He started inside, and when all of the bats flew out passed him, it traumatized him and created the fear of bats... or he fell in guano? ))) Maybe both??? The bat suit was fighting his phobia... AKA psychosis.

 

Joker is a character that the story continues to change as to what flipped his switch. I do not read comics, but perhaps will try to look up if he was ever given an original reason for going insane???

Today I have little stories on my mind, which might happen somewhere in our endless universum.

 

Little short stories, no claim to be the truth, no links, no names.

1       There is a world in our universe, where this might have happened.

They lived in a time of stagnation, let's call it
Dark times mid age.

Cereal was the main food, but difficult to store. The other day a monk
found a way, invented a stuff, let's call it beer, an alcoholic beverage.
Beer became a major food, part of every meal. Even sibbling where fed
with a kind of beer soup.
But
Alcohol is quite toxic to the brain, even more in young age of people.
For centuries, people just remained stupid.
Stagnation, dark midage times.

2        Another day someone brought another beverage with another brain active
substance. Let's call it Coffee.

It seems to change the way how people think.
It was quite quick adapted by a specific class of people.
Business man opened beside pubs also so called coffeehouses.
They became quite popular and lots of discussion started in
coffee rounds.
It became dangrous to the leaders, as there where things discussed
which endangered the crowd control.
So the main leader set up a law against any use of coffee, coffee traders
where killed.

3       Once a day, there was a group producing and selling alcohol.
They made lots of money doing so.
But, another brain actice substance was rediscovered.
This one has had the potential to endanger the moneymaking.
And similar to coffee endanger the crowd control.
So the lobby and leaders decided, this stuff will be forbidden.
As the above mentioned became quite strong, last but not least,
because of the immense economic power of the money they made.
Even that strong, to be able to force other worlds to forbid this
rediscovered substance.


In our world we have the internet.
Things like this cannot happen here, as everyone can easylie
check and inform themself about all those things.

Please forgive me any typos etc. and similarities to living or dead people.

My white trash peckerwood neighbors moved out in a hurry last month.  They packed everything on a flatbed trailer and just fucking vanished.  I figured they hadn't been paying the taxes or something and they got evicted.  NOPE, not the case.  Seems the youngest daughter was constantly going to the county clinic with some sort of vaginal infection.  It happened so often that one of the clinic nurses did a rape kit on the girl.  She had semen inside her but (wait for it) it wasn't human.  She was letting the goddamned dogs nail her.

 

My sister is friends with the nurse (who is a small town busy-body) and she notified the sheriff, child welfare and...get this...animal control.  The sheriff paid the father (who was in jail at the time for theft) a visit and the family was gone the next day.  I didn't find out about any if this shit because the sheriff and county health service wanted to keep it quiet.  But now EVERYONE knows.  I saw the anima control guy today and he laughed when I he saw ma and asked "So what about your Katrina refugee trash neighbors?  That's something else, huh?"  And I was like 'WTF are you talking about' and then he told me the whole story.

 

And NO the daughter was not hot.  She's a gangly 13 yr old with greasy hair, teeth like a picket fence and huge creamy zits...and she fucks dogs.

I already felt sorry for the dogs because the people didn't take care of them; covered in ticks, ribs showing, always cut up from hog hunting, etc.

I read an article on how the employee to employer power dynamic is at an all time high of the last 40 years which is good but at the same time employees want time to take care of their pets which is kind of skirting the edge of acceptable in my book. I mean how come those free loaders get it easy? I don't know whether that is just me being mean or I'm on to something. Maybe people should save that off time for their dying mother or children or something.

I wonder how much negative interaction on the Internet caused Chris' mental deterioration to accelerate and how much was a combination of the result of direct environmental influences (which included people taking things from the Internet into Meat Space). People setting out to 'milk the LOLCow' certainly could not have helped.
