FauxFurry Posted August 28, 2021 Posted August 28, 2021 After seeing the Cowboy Beebop casting decisions that Netflix made, I get the impression that if there is anyone or anything with Black in the title, they are only capable of translating it to 'person of African descent'. If they were to make an adaptation of Berserk, they would have to change Guts to look more like Casca since he is referred to at some point as The Black Swordsman. Would Rainbow Brite suddenly be redefined as a race war of some kind, as well? Could they even pull it off as it could fry their brains to figure out how to implement Black and shades of Grey fighting against all of the colors of the Rainbow unless they consider a Rainbow as nothing but White light split by a prism.

The concept of "race," "racism" is for those quasi-'empathists' (???) who haven't figured out, refuse to, or are even incapable of acknowledging what ubiquitous color lays underneath: 2

steelpanther24 Posted September 5, 2021 Posted September 5, 2021 References I think are widely known are not that widely known anymore. In case anyone wondered why I chose Merkwurkdigliebe for a second avatar name. Spoiler
robokore Posted September 6, 2021 Posted September 6, 2021 You ever had one of those days that all you wanted to do was screw around with various mods to your favorite game just to see what you could stack with what? Even if you weren't really playing the game that much? 2
Darkpig Posted September 8, 2021 Posted September 8, 2021 Somebody was telling me about how people who never rid a motorcycle always seem to talk about motorcycle accidents but never car accidents. To be fair cars are heavier and they have metal all around to protect people inside them. That aside this is probably mostly talked about by fathers who replaced their old trucks with a mini vans of all things (talk about losing your soul). Some of them even have the gall to put a "children on board" sticker on their car. (Assholes). So people have lost their soul from many walks of life like rednecks, punks, hippies, metal heads, suburban sweater people, Canadians, Russians and I'm running out of examples. Point is everybody turns into a bitch when they reach a certain age. ?Not me though l'll always be swine. 2

There are so many cars in our city that without getting very early to the work or without motorcycle you'll always be late. So, two of them are driving the bike and both of them are very careful drivers. Indeed, car is more safe, but it doesn't buy you a time when you are in hurry.
KoolHndLuke Posted September 9, 2021 Posted September 9, 2021 (edited) The sad fact that we have become so accustomed to hearing lies and uncovering deceit in our lives that when someone or something genuine and sincere does comes along, we are suspicious, accusatory, and all too willing to pass arbitrary judgement in an vain effort to protect ourselves. So we expect the lies, need them because it's all we have known. For they provide a cold. yet all-to-familiar and comfortable prison. I will resign my inquisitions, put down my magnifying glass next to battered gavel... and where evidence is lacking, just believe, for once, that someone in this life can actually mean it when they tell me they care and will be there to catch my inevitable fall. I post the thread "why do we lie?" recently and it is not popular. You see, thanks to my wife whom I met when I was little girl I stopped lying long time ago. My husband doesn't lie either for he was raised that way. Indeed, lying brings more hurt than good.

Me too (hmm not the bit about being a lil girl and having a husband)!! Although sometimes I'll tell the odd white lie just to avoid arguments. I have a sister who tells sooooo many lies she ends up believing them.
landess Posted September 9, 2021 Posted September 9, 2021 In the future, will PI (Pre-Internet) become the new BC (Before Christ)?

I never supported the theory that you are person that you believe you are, like if you constantly saying for yourself that you are stupid, it became your reality until I saw similar theory in my husband's life. For instance, he had low esteem before he met my wife and me. He avoided confrontations and he thought he is no good enough as a person and in everything he does. It was something that his mother was telling him constantly. My Ivy changed that. She turned him into very self-confident person, who is very good in everything he does. So, last several years he is very good musician, organizer, muscular and gifted martial arts fighter and excellent husband and the father of two children. It all depends about the person (society) who has influence on you. Edited September 9, 2021 by EvalovesEP

Stormer Posted September 10, 2021 Posted September 10, 2021 Majority of people have above average number of arms. Since some people have one or no arms at all, which brings the average number of arms per person bellow two. So if you have two arms, you have more than is average. 1
