Have you tried this to start A Dish Served Hot?

The OP states that after talking to one of the three, you have to talk to Griffe at Mixwater Mill while wearing a device.  Did you do that?

yeah, nothing triggered. Meanwhile triggering pirate prize by sslv was no issue. Pretty sure I'm running 1.9.

Do you have to have finished noone escapes cidnah mine?

@grooovus: No, Cidhna Mine is not a prereq, except in the sense that it triggers one of the 3 prereqs (the guy in Markarth).  The prereq is the 'Fair Game' minor quest, started by any of the 3 noted NPCs (or Farengar, in some cases).  If you don't get their dialogue (and collar/gag), the 'Fair Game' quest did not start.

As I recall, the easiest (minimal conditions, trivial prereq quest) is the Jarl's son in Riften.  I believe the 'Fair Game' start is triggered from a 'change location' event, either the tavern or the keep (don't remember which); after that, finishing the quest to fetch a sword for the Jarl's worthless son gives an option for a sarcastic response ("Such a fine lordling" or some such) and the 'Fair Game' quest is off and running.

You could probably start 'Fair Game' from console commands, in a pinch.

I should add, I didn't deliberately try to make 'A Dish Served Hot' difficult to start, though it seems to have had that effect.  Rather, I was attempting to integrate these side quests into normal play so that they flowed naturally out of other events.  That's what I get for trying to be clever.  ;)

I'm having a problem with this quest:

Confusion to the Forsworn:

Talk to Thonar Silverblood to start (assuming Madanach was killed).

I went through the mine, escaped and killed Madanach.  Now i'm free of any DD, no followers (just in case), but I talk tho Thonar and he doesn't say anything special.

Anyone able to do this quest, or know what's going on?

The description page say's Devious Cidhna Mine is special edition compatible.  How do you get it to work when Devious Integration isn't compatible and is a requirement?

The mod itself can work with SE and as soon as it's dependencies support SE, you can just install Devious Cidhna as well and be done.

I don't recall editing the description to say that it's SkyrimSE compatible... but I believe CGi is correct.  If anyone knows different, I'll correct the description.

That is actually just an unfortunately misleading effect of the site upgrade.  A "Special Edition Compatible" line was added to the file information, but it is not filled in by default with a "Yes" or "No".  So people just read it as "this is a SE compatible mod" unless the modder has updated the page.

interessted in an updated translation? ^^

@CGi Yes, but hold that thought.  I'd hate to put you through the trouble twice, and there might be more dialogue changes on the way...

Ah, that explains it.  I suspected something of the kind, but it's good to have it confirmed.  Thanks.

More dialogue means more content means more quests. Can't wait.

Just translating the wizard dialogue made me wish for more. ^^

Maybe you could add something similar to the old woman in Whiterun (forgot her name) who got ties with the Black Briars?

Her relationship with them is not really explained but she has something they want/need and she doesn't do any work but (with CRF installed) got a nice house in front of Whiterun.

I actually raised this issue (with screenshots) earlier, so hopefully something can be done about it.

@stobor

Potential bug report: It may be possible to get passed around in Cidhna Mine with no way out. Using DDi-DDe 4.1betas, Cidhna Mine Expanded, and precious little else that should impact it, and all other requirements, everything worked just fine except I couldn't engage Borkul in conversation to the effect I had either skooma or a shiv. It appears  to reset the "use PC quest" for lack of a better term, and the workaround is to console his key to enter Madenach's quarters.

Right now I don't have any data to back it up, nor do I have any conclusive data as to what might cause it, so... yeah...

I'd suggest filing it under "huh..." and waiting to see if anyone else has the same problem. That might narrow it down. Anyway, players wishing to stay true to the quest who encounter similar problems can simply get the skooma from X, then get the shiv from Y, and then console the key to Madenach's quarters and continue.

ok i have a question for you.

do you you Better Dialogue Controls (or another mod that fixes the dialogue so you can have more choices such as EZ2C)??

reason i ask is i use the DDI/DDE 4.1 betas as well and did the Cidhna Mine questline just a few days ago, and did get the dialogue with Borkul to trade Skooma or a

Shiv for the key, with probably a bit more mods involved in there (i also have the Cidhna Expansion, and Sexlab Solutions).

I use Better Dialogue Controls and did have all the options show up (Devious Cidhna adjusted vanilla and Solutions).  i did complete the run thru with Devious Cidhna

(got the Skooma and Shiv thru Devious Cidhna's options).

I do have BDC. And now I can't get it to repeat, even reverting to the save that I was using to test it. Probably just Skyrim being Skyrim.

New v1_10 uploaded, with a German translation and FOMOD installer courtesy of @CGi (thanks!).  See the version history for the details, but the short summary is this adds a new repeatable scenario for bandit camps (any place with LocTypeBanditCamp).  That scenario is triggered by walking into a bandit camp while wearing one or more restraints that prevent effective fighting (blindfold, armbinder, straitjacket or yoke).

There's a separate download with just the non-localized ESP file, for folks who want to hack on it in the Creation Kit.  Script sources are an option under the FOMOD installer.

Does the newest version require DDi 4.0 or does it just support it?

Requires DDi 4.0 or later.  v1_8 was the last version on older DDi.

Most stuff would probably still work fine, but there are at least a few references to items that didn't exist in older versions.  And I certainly haven't tested the new content on older versions.

Really cool update - I honestly wasn't expecting a mini-Deviously Helpless feature to be included in the mod.  Since the feature seems like it could be even be used as a risky/fun way to get out of some of these tough restraints I'll definitely try running it for awhile.

Quick question - for the optional mods to feature in the bandit camps (Cursed Loot collar/Simple Slavery sale) do these mods need to be loaded before Devious Cidhna in the load order?  Or does load order not matter in this case.

 Thank you very much.

Just wondering: wouldn't it be logical to integrate the non-localized version into the FOMOD installer?

This was already discussed and may be in the next update if stobor chooses to do so.
