Scrups Posted October 5, 2025 Posted October 5, 2025 is there a version of this without all the devious devices and stuff

After some testing with a crash logger I noticed that Content Consumer's Alternate Starts was causing errors, so I disabled that and tried again and made it into the mine without CTD! Dunno if that'll fix it for ya'll but it might be worth a try. Just wanted to report that this worked for me. Disabling CCAS let me load Cidhna Mine without my game crashing.
Ursur1major Posted November 24, 2025 Posted November 24, 2025 I have been told that the "Lie down with dogs" quest is related to this mod. Although searching for it doesn't give any results on here so I don't know if that is true. It seems to just complete randomly every so often, usually after killing a bunch of wolves? But not always, and sometimes several times in quick succession. Anyone have a clue what's going on? 1

I've been wondering this for years but never knew its source and had not really looked into it too deeply. Now that you have mentioned it, I pulled this mod up in TES5Edit and see it has something to do with Bandits. Seems to be another scenario about being caught in a bandit camp and enslaved for a time. It is not the same as A Dish Served Hot, as far as I can tell. Edited November 29, 2025 by Ethetrix

Huh, that does ring a bell, I did once get into a bandit camp where they were all passive and I got dialogue reminiscent of "A Dish Served Hot" when i interacted with them. Assumed it was just a weird bug. Still feels extremely broken, I can't think of any commonalities between the times I've seen it pop up, and the dialogue of course didn't have any ensalvement events, it was acting as though I was already enslaved to them, despite me rocking up and stabbing several of them while the others just watched. That time I was tied up in some Devious Devices (But nothing that immobilized me, no heavy bondage) but I've had it pop up in settlements, when I was in the middle of nowhere, when i was in dungeons, when I've been wearing and not wearing devices.

It is this, from the patch notes: 1.100: Added a repeatable minor expansion quest: Wandering into a bandit camp with restraints (blindfold, armbinder, straitjacket, or yoke) will result in the bandits taking advantage instead of attacking. Equipping weapons or sneaking may turn them hostile again. If they start tripping over dead bodies, they will definitely turn hostile. This is meant to give vampire or succubus characters an alternate approach, instead of stealth or mayhem. The first bandit that greets you will steal most gear, including restraint keys. So keep that in mind. Bandits may sell you (Simple Slavery), or add a slave collar (Cursed Loot), or add ankle fetters. But they may also remove some generic restraints (not custom or quest gear). As far as I can see in the quest parameters and scripts: The start up condition on the "Lie Down with Dogs" seems to only be that the player is in the Bandit Ally Faction. The quest is completed when the player moves to a new location that is not marked as a bandit camp, or is a vampire and feeds. This mod is probably not the only one that adds the player to the faction to make them non-hostile to bandits, even temporarily. When the quest is completed, it also removes the player from the Bandit Ally Faction and this could cause problems with other mods that expect the player to still be in the faction. 1
plutocene Posted January 5 Posted January 5 Does this mod actually work on AE game version? I installed Devious Cidhna v1_10_FOMOD.7Z and the .esp Devious Cidhna v1_10_SE.7z, but the BSA file is reported to be outdated and CTDs on game start. Unpack and repack?

Using it now, in fact, on 1.6.1170. I never dl'd the FOMOD version, only Devious Cidhna v1_10_SE. If you need the FOMOD version for whatever reason, then you will need to unpack and repack the .BSA. I use Cathedral Assets Optimizer, you can find it on Nexus. If you don't need the FOMOD version, just dl Devious Cidhna v1_10_SE and it'll work out of the box - no BSA. 1

Omnishade Posted February 28 Posted February 28 (edited) Not expecting much here, since this mod seems abandoned but I'll add my feedback for the Pirate Prize quest. The idea is good on paper, but it's very unrealistic that the same pirate rapes you over and over in the short time set by this mod, and it's also frustrating that you can't even approach and open dialogue without getting raped. This leads to inflation in sex animations, and you just get tired of it. The author's instict was right when he said something like "You need to be used by pirates 40 times to get sold, so most people probably won't ever see it". This applies to the bandit quest too of course, and it would be better, more immersive and more playable if their cooldown was longer, or even better, if you there was an MCM where you can set the cooldown. That would also open up for the use of other mods for sex encounters(which can enable threesomes and more). Right now it happens too often as it is to even consider. This is made even worse by the fact that the mod doesn't have a reliable method of making the PC friendly with the bandits. If I reload they become hostile, so it has to be played without reloading even once. It's the only slavery mod I've played that has this issue. SD+ works fine for example. Escaping also seems impossible without being good at pickpocketing(and I don't play a thief), so you would need use the console to give yourself more skill and perks in it, which is cheating/metagaming. I've talked to pirates until I can ask why the door is locked, and spent at least 3 days on the boat(had to make the time pass by waiting and sleeping) but there is no progress after that. So much for "the key can be stolen as part of the quest dialogue". Does anyone care to tell me how exactly? Edited February 28 by Omnishade
VORP Posted May 10 Posted May 10 (edited) Yes, I have also found out that every time I reload all bandits just become hostile, which makes the mod almost impossible to play through The other problem is that once I steal the keys and bandits find it out, they just become hostile and kill me. There is nothing to control this The mod needs updates to become playable. At least the Pirate Prize part of it Edited May 10 by VORP
Naps-On-Dirt Posted May 16 Posted May 16 (edited) I often time using Pirate Prize to help with the Thieves Guild quest where you have to plant Balmora Blue on that ship. You're right though, it would be hard to do this quest without being able to pickpocket. The First Mate carries two keys, one to the chest with your stuff, and one to the master locked door out onto the deck. Turn off any other mod that causes random acts of surprise sex because that will just interfere with this one. I will then find a pirate and talk to him, taking the quest related dialogue options except the one about asking to stretch your legs. You get raped after each time, but after 3 or so times one of the options will be to remove a device. Once one is removed I pick a different pirate and repeat, until all 3(?) devices are removed and the quest updates to tell you to escape. Then I go back to the First Mates cabin, pickpocket the chest key, get my stuff (and leave the BB) then go invisible (by potion or spell) and creep out and run back to Solitude.
