I'm curious to see when the first complaints about CTD for mod collections will come and then it will become clear that the user has dared to install other mods that are unfortunately not compatible with a mod from the collection.
Will this mod be collected or does the guarantee / support for the collection expire?
It gets even more amusing when different collections are not compatible with each other. lol

The truth hurts and it's not my fault Dork0ne is a cunt.  If the staff here had let that thread continue more people would have been made aware of what Dork0ne really is.  All this 'I'm taking your mods' stupidity would have been in context since people would have know that Dork0ne is a thieving wormy little shit.  No one would have been surprised.  The staff here protected him and for what?  All factual criticism got dismissed by the LL staff and Dork0ne was able to carry on unscrutinized....and now he's openly stealing mods.

 

The LL staff is just as culpable as the modders who participated at Neruxs and Dork0ne himself.

The thread you speak of also had its fair share of insulting all Nexus modders and members. Weirdly enough, almost all LL modders and members at the time were Nexus members too. Anyway, this led to tension and reprisals that damaged modding across the aisle, and hurt LL in more ways than I care to explain. Any attempt on our part to tone at least that part of it down was cheerfully ignored and shouted down.

This is in no way what is happening.

What IS happening, is I am telling you "here is a link to the nexus page where you can download the mod, as well as endorse it".

 

There are no plans currently to integrate collections with Donation Points. This means that, in essance, collection curators do not get anything from their work maintaining a collection. You CAN link your patreon/kofi/paypal/whatever on the collection page and get donations that way, but it is by no means mandatory. You cannot paywall collections either, as they are available only via the nexus and there is no way to upload a file for it somewhere else.

NOT because of 'modpacks' but because no communication is done out of pure laziness and fear of getting 'no' as an answer. They never even gave the original creators of the mods a chance to be involved.

 

Perhaps I'll work on a different way of distributing mods, perhaps my mods will have installers and DRM in the future. With mounted virtual drives that need INTERNET acces to play. Admittedly i was just googling "Dungeons&Deviousness" to see what that was about but one of the reddit threads it brought up was about someone having installed a modlist but now having no nude textures (imagine the bodyslide files were for CBBE and included the nevernude option) so i'd think a good guide would mention not to tick/select those but (at least from that reddit post) it seems installing via a modlist doesnt

The more i read about it, the stranger it becomes.

I printed out an old thread about "piracy" from Nexus. Awe is the only word that can describe it.

But this had nothing to do with this topic.

 

I enjoy modding the games i have, but there is apparently more to it behind the scenes.

 

If i were a modder, i am not sure what i would do. I mean, you want exposure and Nexus surely has that.

But all the recent change seems strange. You can sugar code a lot of stuff and be evil. Its like Google or Facebook.

It always bothered me that Nexus did not had any sexy stuff. They do have an adult switch but whats the point if there isn't anything really. Perhaps i have a different understand off adult things.

 

What does not make sense though, is the back up thing. If you remove a mod (at the moment) that mod is gone and even later, if you say i want to have it removed and they adhere to it, the mod is not there, though "archived". I just do not get the sense of it. For what purpose?

He, the DorkOne, justifies it technically. Which is strange. I admit, i never ran a website with huge data in tow. So dunno if that is true. But if that were true, other sites would have the same problem. I truly hate if sites decide to take ownership of your content. Its the Facebook thing and so i do not have Facebook.

Deleting a file is often much harder than clicking "delete" and calling it a day.

 

The nexus has a lot of servers that may not be able to delete files with no warning, so archival is used to at least hide it from public view, prior to being removed.
