Dear Jazzman,

Pete Hines is getting frustrated with the consumers about this topic, and honestly we just need more people to hear.

Im sorry i missed the part where you explain why im suppose to care ...

Is Bethesda some precious little flower ? Some poor sick kid that doesn't deserve the criticism because life is hard enough for them as it is ? Some small two people indie team that one has to forgive some "rough around the edges" things in their games ?

NO, its a fucking multimilion company.

Company that is famous for releasing outright broken games, riddled with glitches, bugs, missing content, company that killed TWO great RPG franchise with this dumbing down bullshit, making them with less and less features but with more samey content, kill-loot-return fetch quests, retarded plot, basic writing errors etc.

Games that are on top only thanks to unreasonable hypemachine and most of all MODDING.

Modding in which people outright restore cut stuff and fix basic issues with their game per se.

And now the same company wants to kill independent modding and milk its fans for every penny they can ( again - with CC rates we have now, any serious modding of all Creation Club F5/NuSkyrim would cost as much as 300-500$, possibly even more - all that on top of paying 60 $ for the game plus more for eventual DLC's ).

Hines gets frustrated ?

I dont give a single solitary fuck if Hines gets ulcer, cancer and carpal tunnel syndrome from all that well deserved backlash he has to deflect and downplay on Twitter/other social media.

This is "be or not to be" of independent modding for both current and future games ( because we all know that if Bethesda gets away with charging for mods, other cancerous assholes like EA and Ubi will follow ).

P.s. i also dont give a fuck if anyone says im a doomsayer - gaming industry proved time and time again that it will do the most vile, unfair and outright evil shit to get more money without any actual work - its not a doomsaying when its been done before.

I agree with all of this. First instance of how the gaming industry is going to shit is the lack and downright exclusion of couch coop gameplay from virtually every game. Now it required you to buy two copies of the same game to even enjoy with siblings or friends.

call of duty used to be split screen coop, not anymore.

Mortal kombat used to have tag team split screen coop, not anymore.

Honestly fuck all game companies except Nintendo. The only one that are legit. I'll be enjoying the new Kirby game and play it with my little brother. I was also going to preorder Wolfenstein new colossus for my younger brother as a gift but not anymore because fuck Bethesda

Nintendo are pretty scummy as well, they're catching up to DLC/Microtransaction bullshite. I hold Nintendo on equal regards (well a little less) than other asshole money grubby companies.

At this point, our knights in shining armor devs are CDProjekt. They have been actually true to their word and actually care for their fanbase. I hope they get on board with a sandbox openworld RPG, because I'm sure they can get it done right.

I personally don't think Nintendo is like that. $20 for Zelda breath of the wild season pass which adds another quest lines and weapons and armor? Yes please and on top of that their games aren't as glitchy and their stories are always top notch. Unlike scummy Bethesda that offered the season pass for $30 and then hiked up the prices for little content. Or even other games that offer their seasons passes for $40-$60 and have little content to show for it.

Last game I bought from Beth, were Skyrim (oldrim) when it was almost released. Although, I had decent time modding and playing it throughout the years, in the end, no matter how much weapons, armor, sexiness and new mechanics I added - there were no escape from the shitty core game itself and the dumbed down of everything.

Skyrim might be wide as a ocean, but only has the depth of puddle. So Beth can go fuck themselves.

I don't think it can be said enough, but thank you all you modders for making a incredible shitty game, a little less shitty.

But I am so glad I don't involve myself with these things these days. But mark my words, it's just gonna get worse. It all started with the cancerous DLC back in the day. And moved slowly to other aspects. Greedy and corrupt corporations will do anything to steal your money by tricking and saying fancy words.

A thief on the street is way more honest than a greedy company.

I can't remember the name of movie now, but I saw this movie about a guy that somehow ends up in the future, and humanity has not become smarter, but actually dumber.

And we can clearly see, it's already going in that direction today. As long as idiotic snowflakes support the actions of a corporation who actually don't care about you at all,

is just part of the problem. People are so fucking stupid, it kinda baffles me.

I bet my nut sack that Todd Howard could probably trick some idiots to shit in their hands, and call it gold, and the idiots would hook, line and sinker it.

The movie is called Idiocracy.

And honestly, at this point, I'm not even a little bit shocked by the shitty things game companies are pulling.

Hell, if they thought they could get away with selling us a "game" literally one line of code at a time, they'd jump on that on a heartbeat.

Ya know what? escape from tarkov is lookin pretty good right now if they can just release it sometime soon it might be kind of fun to play that instead of fallout 4. All anyone does in that game is slide stuff around on inventory screens for a long time then go to some specific part of this russian city and try to escape from it. Then while trying to escape they are instead hiding in bushes and tall grass sniping each other and taking their stuff while looting through an abandoned city. There is no story so far but the gunplay and attention to detail for all the guns is INSANE it kinda looks like how fallout 4 should have been. All they would have to do is throw in a single player campaign and make it not suck and not charge an arm and a leg for it and no micro transactions. I've been watching people play this game on youtube and there is a beta now or some kind of beta but they say the game won't be out until next year sometime.

at 7:00 minutes CC contents all downloaded on user pc and user can just use all assets without paying for those mods this is brilliant. :D

btw this is not piracy since they uploaded the files onto your pc without your consent.

Posted

for those interested in what the CC has to offer so far and haven't taken a gander at it yet.... forgive the youtuber choice for those with slightly "Elitist" tastes i.e. those who prefer gopher, or brodual or other "mainstream" Beth games mod reviewers...this was the first vid I can find where my lazy ass can click on to:

I guess not everybody agrees with this - earlier a thread where I wrote the same thing was locked for piracy.

Uhhhhh what?? MxR is THE main stream mod reviewer for both Skyrim and Fallout 4. Can't get any more mainstream than that. He gets the most views and subscribers out of everyone else.

and yet there are those who only knew that Youtuber for his Slooty™ mod reviews and decry him for it in the comments section of other "respectable" mod reviewers like gopher et al. lol....

that said, after watching the aforementioned video, if this is the future of CC and if Beth continues to make more unimaginative mods shown here in the future, then the future is very bleak indeed...

Terminator 2 levels of bleak...

While everyone here was busy spending their time wondering whether the Creation Club is entirely legal or ethical, they never asked themselves an important question about Creation Club mods: Are they lore friendly?

Posted

Of course it's ethical. If you believe in a persons product, let's call it what it is, you should donate. But, if the product breaks a normally working game, that's kinda like buying a car with no drivers seat.

I was not defending them I was pointing out that not a lot of people hear about this stuff, And pete getting frustrated was stated as a good thing meaning that there seems to be enough of a voice that its irritating them. I was not attacking anyone on here what so ever, I was agreeing in part with jazzman, I guess I could have wrote that better, my apologies for that. Ill go get those vids on the recent stuff I was saying.

1.) here was the video I was watching when poorly trying to comment about. hope this clears up my blunder there.

It gets better!

A lot of false information and people are still sucking his dick. He could do at least a bit more research about how light esp works. Light esp supports up to 4k records. These were made to avoid plugin numbers with armor/skin etc mods.

If above 4k of records they are just simply .esm's.

Quest mods are are fully possible.

And your citation for that is....?

If big quest mods are fully possible, where are they?

You'll have to do better than that to play apologist for Bethesda.

Not really related to Bethesda or the Creation Club, but it shows the philosophy big publishers have now and how fast it's spreading. Microtransactions have the potential to generate almost infinite money and thus immense profits without any risk or cost, assuming the game itself sells.

How fast it's spreading?

It's been here for two years as the defacto payment method for most companies, the difference between then and now is someone finally bothered to pay attention and it's now essentially the only model publishers will implement past a certain logistical scale.

Namco has been using this model for almost fifteen years and microsoft started with halo 3, creative assembly with Rome onward.

So modding behind a CC mod listed as a master using CC assets is still a no go? Why? If you still have to have the CC mod for your mod to work- then how is that piracy? You are simply *ahem* "enhancing" said mod by adding to it. This is done all the time so long as original mod author gives permission for free mods. With CC mods, Beth has neither said yes or no. It is a non- issue to them. Doesn't a non-issue for them basically mean yes to modding with CC assets with a CC mod as a master?

I mean let's say for a moment that I did purchase one of their mods because I saw potential. Now I go to work and build whatever the fuck I want behind it using all assets and then I wanted to release it. Could I?

It's just a question. I still don't want CC. Just looking for ways to use this crap with minimal investment.

Posted

You are here not because there is no clear alternative elsewhere but because there is no alternative at all, no caravan of modders leaving as of now and no willingness on your part to fight for those that came before and those that are still working on mods as we speak. One might lose the fight, getting a bloody nose or worse, huh? So, you are a professional user that doesn't give a fuck and is just entertaining us with already known and commonly agreed to complaints. Is that your purpose? Great! But hey, we ain't senile yet, we remember the fuck we receive from Beth. What else do you have in your pockets, if any? Lo, everybody here puts his pants on the same way as you... ;)

No, im here because i want to and because mods are free.

Im on dozens of gaming forums, that does not have anything to do with the topic at hand.

What even is your fucking point at this moment ?

Well the mods are being downloaded without your consent, so bethesda is using your bandwith and your disk space without even asking, now this is not much of an issue with just a few hundred mb's but once more and more mods are going to be added this will be, especially for users who have limited data...here you can basically see how much they not giving a fuck on anything except getting money and that their sight is set on consoles.

And since they havent given a clear answer yet, i cant view that as piracy, because its their own fault for allowing this to happen in the first place.

Im just glad i skipped SSE and FO4.

Trainwiz said several times on reddit that bigger things are in the works - that's why he's been contracted to begin with, the guy's mostly known for his quest mods. And his train obsession I suppose. That being said, Fallout 4 has a lot more technical restrictions than Skyrim SE so it's possible that the more substantial offerings will be Skyrim-only.

^ A few of his comments I found with a quick search. Of course you're free to believe that he's lying, not really hired by Bethesda, or that the account is not his and I'll be equally free to think you're a tool parroting click-bait Youtube videos.

Yeah, because why the fuck would you want to launch your new controversial service with as much feature rich content as its humanly possible..

Its way better than to make a complete tool of yourself and your product and THEN try to salvage the situation after incredibly horrible first impression.

Thats just business basics 101.

P.s. Maybe there are some big mods coming - at this point i dont give a single solitary flying fuck. They had a chance, they wasted in on stale meme jokes and trying to shove me the shit i already got for free. Fuck Bethesda and fuck their money hungry, agressively lazy bullshit.

lol force bullshit you didn't ask for in the first place on your hard drive you use it "Piracy".

The first attempted implementation of this trash was run into the fucking ground and never recovered yet somehow this method which is without a doubt worse in every way is still being miraculously defended even in this thread.

This is what Bethesda considers worth real money? A bunch of mediocre mods (Pete Hines can kiss my furry butt; "official content" is just another term for mods) that can't hold a candle to the free stuff on the Nexus? It's so asinine it'd be funny if it wasn't so pathetic. :(

Why am I surprised? He works in Marketing. Any Dilbert fan knows they only employ sociopaths with no idea how the real world works. And let's not forget Todd Howard's part. Guilt by association.

Well, Bethesda has always had an issue with premature... releases ;)

Somehow i still i want to believe they just wanted get this out as soon as possible, and everyone would happy. You know, means good, but ain't too bright.

Meanwhile, in the real world, this most likely is a test so the system is ready for the big releases. Spoilers: knowing Bethesda, it won't :P
