It is for LooksMenu skin overlays like tattoos, etc.  If that setting is set to true then those types of overlays will not be copied onto the player body double during animations.  It's really just for troubleshooting.

Got it, thanks.

Any ideas on how to make subtitles from dialogues work during the scenes? The scenario is:

- PC is involved into the scene

- A passerby (or nearby) NPC says some dialogue line

- The lip sync works and I suspect the sound does as well, but the subtitles are suppressed. I believe this is because AAF blocks some native UI layers from being shown

And the difference isssssssssssssss? We seem to be saying the same thing. Will AAF still work without it? I have 147 and no Buffout and it works. Buffout is not an easy setup and to ask that on top of a working AAF install that can be a bit wonky for most seems a bit much. :scream:

Suggestion: Can be ignored.
Recommendation: Should be used.
Both point towards it being optional but only one tells the user that it's better to use it.

it may be a bit intimidating to install but in the long run it's better to have it, help finding bugs & report them so a longterm solution can be created for the things it already fixes and what else there is to come.

Hey everyone,

Can someone help me with an issue i got with AAF ? I got AAF,Each Animation Pack available and some other AAF related mods installed and my game really doesn´t seem to like them. My loadingtimes are extremely long, my game struggles at every corner, loading screens lag before ending, starting a new game makes my
Computer freeze for about 5 minutes,Loading into a game gets me a 10-15 second freeze, about each 1-2 minutes there is a 10-15 second lag and the game just generally crashes whenever it can. I don´t really get why this is happening. Do i have too many animation packs ? I don´t see why AAF could affect my game this much. Sexlab in Skyrim works fine.

I´ve got countless playthroughs and AAF stuff is the only thing that keeps me playing Fallout 4 at the moment.

AAF does cause a brief freeze when the game has first loaded.  Depending on how many animation packs and other data AAF has to load it can be around 10-15 seconds.  But the other issues you are reporting are not related to AAF.  Loading screens in this game have always been ridiculously long.  There have been many times when I thought my game had crashed when walking from an interior to an exterior, even with a very up to date computer.

Or / and a script issue, too many scripts active, I had similar issues before, such as 6 fps at best in cities, I deactivated some mods I did not use regularly, and that did the trick.

I don't see why AAF would affect loading screen lag. In that case, it sounds more like high-cost textures.

I have the 2k Head Texture Mod and the Radiation Queen Texture for my Body but nothing else really. I don´t really have any enviornment textures. I also have lots of weapon mods where i replaced some sounds. Could those cause trouble ? They´re not .bsa files.

Others might know better, but I read that the more new stuff you add to the FO4 game ( more new weapons, more new npcs, more new settlement objects ) the harder the game engine is taxed. And when you add new textures and meshes on top of that, game can slow down quite a bit. I have my FPS counter from Steam always on. Not perfect but can give you a heads up on how taxing a load order is on the system. If you add a mod and your FPS drops, not good.

I´m gonna remove a bunch of my weapon mods, unimportant stuff and I´ll clean my masterfiles.

Running Fallout 4 on 2540x1440 Resolution is fine right ? 1920 x 1080 just looks really bad on my monitor.

I run 2540 x 1440 also. Graphics look great but I also know that I do lose FPS doing so. My game works great, load order is stable, with few hiccups in city. I cannot live with the lower resolution even if it means higher FPS. My game plays great at only 17 to 21 FPS. It lags at 12 13 FPS. Get a FPS counter. Really tells you alot..

I have the Steam FPS Counter. Im running the game at a constant 60 fps most of the time.  I´ve just disabled the 2k Head Texture Mod and my game seems 100x better but now it just crashes around every corner i go. Fallout 4 doesn´t work, Skyrim also just stopped working for me. I really don´t know anymore.

I´m gonna uninstall all mods, uninstall Fallout 4, do a complete new installation and then slowly add mods. Gods have mercy on me.

It is all about the mod choice and load order. I use Vortex which works well for me since I am still a relative PC newbie. Also when in doubt, start a new game. Old corrupted files can still remain in your save even after mod deletion. A corrupted save stays with you forever unless you start a new game. Up to you?

Im using NMM, the worst mod manager for keeping your game clean it seems. But everything else I´ve tried either doesn´t work or is too complicated.

I recently found the High FPS Physics Fix mod which has been working better for me than Load Accelerator, and is implemented as an F4SE plugin so no separate DLL to manually install and no need to fiddle with proxy-loading for ENB. Has specific options for disabling animated load screens too: https://www.nexusmods.com/fallout4/mods/44798

I know folks complain about some animations with characters not lining up proper for sex, which is not an AAF issue. But is there a way to create a mod to stop time during an animation, click on the character that needs adjustment, move it by controller or keys to a corrected position, lock it in place then restart time with the animation's characters now aligned? Maybe this mod retains the new positions in memory for the next time. I know that we can try to change the position numbers in a particular packs files but not all packs have those numbers listed..

Under 4-Play, you could move the characters with the X & Y keys I think?? Seems like I remember something like that.

Idk why AAF still doesn't have animation adjustment keys. You can edit them in the XML files, but it's a pain in the ass to troubleshoot.

It's the one thing that AAF needs.

Not sure AAF has to fix a problem that is not their making. Was asking if a mod could be made to do so?

Okay so I´m currently trying to slowly add mods and it works great so far. Fusion Girl+Looksmenu+AAF+AAF Animations works. So it isn´t AAF itself. Next will be all of the AAF Addons. I kind of expect Sex Attributes and Sex Harassment to be a big deal but I can´t say for now. I also broke my AAF once because Custom Moans seems to not be compatible with some Mods. Uninstalling it fixed it again thankfully. Gotta say though, Animations are awfully quiet without it.

EDIT: Alright the lag just started again. I just installed: ZaZout4, Prisoner Shackles, CRX, Commonwealth Captives, Combat Strip Lite, Companion Ivy so it´s one of those.

EDIT 2: It´s none of those. My game decided just to do the same shit all over again. I guess im gonna go back to my broken Skyrim and be jealous of everyone elses perfect Fallout 4. I don´t get it.
