It's the same result either way, just different mentalities for each approach. But if you're always going to have SexLab loaded after then you don't even need the separate Papyrus mod to begin with, so you can get rid of that. Edited November 19, 2021 by tasairis
nikcomp69 Posted November 20, 2021 Posted November 20, 2021 On Skyrim 1.5.97 and just updated sexlab from 1.63 beta 8 to 9. I can't seem to get any facial expressions to work any more. Tried uninstall 1.63 beta 8 and clean install of 9 and still no luck. Has anyone had a similar issue. I can post my mod list but just wanted to see if there was something simple aside of "click the check boxes "

Other mods started using it as well because it is a useful library, but this is its birthplace. Also, stop posting nonsense about the Steam manifests and SteamDB content. SteamDB is not Steam, not the Steam Console, nor even a Valve product in general. SteamDB is just a 3rd-party (meaning NOT from/by Valve/Steam) online database of the Steam game library. It seems quite clear from community feedback that Valve/Steam (not SteamDB) have added blocks/limitations to the Steam Console for retrieving previous manifests, at least for Skyrim SE. Since these same manifests are still accessible via DepotDownloader, that should indicate to you that Steam has not, in fact, deleted those manifests...either that or someone is maintaining additional illegal download servers. Go use DepotDownloader while it still works and stop whining about this. Your enduser experience with all of this is not typical. You've messed up somewhere and jacked your game all to hell. Any savegames created post tinkering/update on your part should be considered tainted and beyond repair. Rather than insult my actions, you could tell me how I messed up if you know how I messed up. I cited the original document that I was following and cited the 3 manifests that I am using. If you haven't used SteamDB before, then just say that, but I was tagging you so much because it seemed like you were saying that you have used it, and it works. And, I wanted to be sure that you have done this post-AE. The writer of the document that I referenced earlier said to completely delete your Steam folder and start over if your game was updated to AE because it is the most invasive update out of all the past Skyrim updates. -- That said, I don't blame you for being a little curt. Interestingly, or annoyingly, people who went along with the AE update are reporting bugs: https://www.thegamer.com/skyrim-anniversary-edition-patch-next-week/ It looks like if you didn't let your game update to AE, you're not missing out on much except for fishing (just find a fishing mod, bro) Edited November 20, 2021 by liars_paradox
liars_paradox Posted November 20, 2021 Posted November 20, 2021 (edited) Also, it turns out that SteamDB does work! Vortex just does a shitty job of reinstalling your mods, but I had my post-AE Data folder backed up and just copied and pasted it and not let it overwrite any files. And, pre-AE Skyrim SE works now. Not perfectly, though. The saved games don't CTD per say, but it didn't load properly either yet. I need to do some digging to find out why. But, I'm able to confirm in a new game that SOS is installed now. I don't want to start over as-is, because this copy doesn't remember my presets. I had a preset called "Imperial Hottie" that I have been using for my character. I don't want to start over, with trying to create my ideal woman character. fred200 Posted November 20, 2021 Posted November 20, 2021 If you use Vortex - and copied and pasted your data directory - you have destroyed Vortex management of your mods. The copy operation replaces every hard link installed by Vortex with an actual copy of the mod. Always "Purge" in Vortex before doing anything to your game directory. "Deploy" after.

I tried taking a screenshot to show you my Orc follower's penis, but even though it says that a screenshot was saved I don't see it in the Skyrim Special Edition folder, so I don't know how to show you guys that it's working. But, I might try the mod that @zarantha suggested (it's already downloaded) so I can try the "Best of Both World's" patch. However, I don't seem to need the original patch to back up my game. The aforementioned manifests work fine. Except, Steam thinks that I uninstalled it as I did uninstall it from Steam, and people on Discord won't know that I'm playing Skyrim. But, I think that this way Steam won't try any sneak updates again. Presets are lost, however. But, I can live with that for now.

It is a reference guide...a 3rd party (this means not owned by or affiliated with Steam or Valve) catalog of software Steam has available for download. You keep talking about SteamDB like it is the thing you're downloading updates from...it isn't. SteamDB is not the same as Steam Console, nor is it a service that DepotDownload connects to in any way when you use it to download depots. From what you've described so far, you're not using your mod manager correctly. You're mixing manual and Vortex install methods together and creating a mess for yourself. Until you straighten out your foundation, as in learn to use Vortex, or MO2, correctly, you're not worth anyone's time in helping. If you won't do the fundamentals correctly, anyone that tries to help you swim in this mess is wasting both of your time. Install all of your mods only through a mod manager, except where that is absolutely not how it works for that mod manager (like SKSE64 and ENB's while using MO2). Vortex works just fine as long as the staging folder and game folders are on the same drive letter so hardlink deployment works. Vortex is particularly interesting in how it allows you to install EXE level data, unlike MO2 which would consider that level of access to the game unacceptable. What this means is that you can install the entire game as a mod in Vortex, using the right settings, including SkyrimSE.exe part, all the main directory files, SKSE64 and the ENB, as well as everything that goes in DATA. With this information, you should try to put together your install in Vortex to an empty game directory, and put each depot in its own zip and add each to Vortex as a mod. The top level folders, stuff above DATA, including the game EXE, ENB, SKSE64 launcher, etc...needs to be flagged as mod type "Engine Injector" or "ENB", as appropriate. In application, I'm not sure they are functionally different from each other in that both allow Vortex to write data to the main game folder. 1
Popular Post Ashal Posted November 20, 2021 Author Popular Post Posted November 20, 2021 Download SexLab SE/AE v1.64 I've posted an updated version now that works with the AE update and current SKSE (2.1.2). I've also decided it's way past time to stop calling it a beta and give it a proper download page. This isn't the end of development by any means though, work will continue. A proper changelog for what's different over 1.63 beta 9 is still pending And before anybody asks... No, I won't be porting the update back to work with SE before the AE update. If you want to update to this version, be ready to take the plunge into AE, which is still missing updates for a lot of common major mods people tend to want and use. An update to the LE version to bring it's features up to par may happen in the future, but I don't consider it a high priority. If you want to download the 1.63 beta 9 for the pre-AE build of the game, check the spoiler in the 2nd post of this thread for the download. --- A major thanks and appreciation goes to @OsmelMC who has really pushed the development of the framework forward this year. Without them, updates would likely still be pretty stagnant as I've really been stuck in a depressive hole for awhile now and really struggled with the motivation needed to get a lot of it done myself, having somebody with a fresh set of ideas for the framework has also been a big creative boost. I can't thank you enough and hope to see you stick to it for as long as you are willing. 32

Can confirm "SexLabFrameworkSE_v164" is working correctly for me with AE (1.6.318.0.8 and SKSE64 2.1.2) AND Nemesis only! (I don't have FNIS installed) And since "CBBE 3BA (3BBB)-30174-2-11-1637354732" and "CBPC - Fomod installer - MAIN FILE-21224-1-4-1-1637344297" have been released for AE, I'm getting correct vagina collision. The little experimenting I still need to do is that I CTD'd the first time after I had made some changes, but when I set it back to default settings, it worked. So I plan to change one thing at a time to see what caused the CTD. *EDIT* The CTDs were from checking "Apply Facial Expressions" under "Animation Settings" (W/O "Play Lip Sync Animations" checked.) *EDIT2* Updated to "SexLabFrameworkAE_v164", and still working great except still having CTDs with "Apply Facial Expressions" checked. I don't have the AE but already did my research and the new SKSE have some changes that force the authors to modify and update all his DLL files. Each DLL file usually means for the programmer's, make or in this case modify a lot of files just to compile one DLL file. Yeah I really cannot blame you for not wanting to update since being a early updater for these things(not mods the games themselves) can be full of bugs sometimes I really dont understand how mods can do better with their bug fixing and updates the triple A game producers no offence meant to the people who update and maintain sexlab none at all just you'd think these triple A companies would have more resources to spend on testing and such. This was my exact question as well when I read @OsmelMC's post. The problem is that many, many players can't move to AE yet because there are a host of other mods beside SexLab that need to be updated before we can do so. So we are blocking SSE updates and happily playing 1.5.97 with SKSE64 2.00.17 with no issues to speak of. Also, some of us haven't even updated to SL Beta 9 yet, waiting for some of the reported issues to be addressed- I definitely don't want a SexLab that crashes after every animation when it reverts to 3P camera, nor one that shows no expressions... both of these issues have been, and continue to be, posted almost daily about SL Beta 9 by different players. Hearing now that the only "fixed Beta 9" available (latest Github version) has been switched to AE (the rug has been pulled out from under us if I have correctly interpreted OsmelMC's statement) is kind of a shock, and means that I may be playing my "Beta 8.5" build (Github April 26, 2021) for the foreseeable future. EDIT to add: Thanks, @Ashal, for the new Sexlab SE v 1.63! It contains, if I'm reading everything correctly, all of the new AE version 1.64's bugfixes but still compatible with SE and none of the non-SE functions (something about a timer). This is exactly what we Luddites needed. ? Edited November 21, 2021 by Vyxenne Because the fat lady hasn't sung yet 5
