Wolf470 Posted November 15, 2021 Posted November 15, 2021 (edited) just gunna note that the AE update (that doesn't require AE to be bought) broke SexLabUtil.dll (which means Sexlab won't work) The SKSE programmers put out a quick patch that depends on the mod authors to fix the DLL's that are not working... Fixing the SexLabUtil.dll will for now allow SexLab to work (presumably) Yes we can downgrade but that is a temporary solution for those of us that have many games on STEAM and intend to keep playing them. Edit: and before you tell me that I didn't read the posts or anything like that.... I've been away from Skyrim for 18 months (I don't keep every game I own on my computer 24/7) Edited November 15, 2021 by Wolf470
Ashal Posted November 15, 2021 Author Posted November 15, 2021 It's going to be at least a week or so before I can update stuff for AE. I've got the hard parts of the update done already, but waiting on changes and non-preliminary build of SKSE first. 18

Skyrim SE should appear uninstalled now. Use the SKSE64 launcher to start the game from now on (make sure Steam is running 1st) and you'll never have to worry about the game being updated ever again. As for restoring, you can use the Steam Console or https://github.com/SteamRE/DepotDownloader to download everything. You'll need an extra step to get the German specific parts, but it is all achievable. https://steamcommunity.com/sharedfiles/filedetails/?id=1086279994 has an in depth explanation how the Steam Console restore method works (though the example isn't Skyrim). You can use the SteamDB - https://steamdb.info/app/489830/ to figure out which manifests you'll need to reference in the commands. This is brilliant and concise, and needs to be stickied where it doesn't get buried- it applies to all SSE players on PC, not just SLF users. I'm copying the link so I can refer ppl who don't know how to do any of it to this post.

SexLab Beta8 LipSync Fix.7z Then, with the new scripts installed, I went into SL's MCM and enabled "Apply Facial Expressions" and "Play Lip Sync Animations," ignoring the warnings, and it works astonishingly well. Before Mfg Fix incorporated Blinking Eyes, I used Blinking Player Eyes, which added even a bit more realism. Here's an example of my expressions now: The Elder Scrolls V Skyrim Special Edition 2020.07.20 - 14.22.56.02.mp4 138.45 MB · 1 download Hope this was helpful to you. Or someone. I have Conan Exiles set to update on launch and yesterday Steam just queued that shit right up and downloaded it like that setting didn't exist. The only way to make sure SkyrimSE doesn't update is to rename/delete the manifest (disable cloud saves 1st, stop steam, move/rename manifest, start steam). It will appear to not be installed in your Steam Library.

At least on NTFS it works that way - I have one game frozen that way since January of 2019. Of course I do not have anything outside OS partition set as being owned by built-in administrators group or account, but I'm not sure it matters here.

But this was within 15 minutes of the actual AE pre-event happening). People ware raising hell, and there was some discussion Steam may put it back. I was so disgusted with it, have not checked back since I got this straightened out. If it's working again, that's great.

Don't let OSA overwrite anything, really. ConsoleUtilSSE, MfgFix, Sexlab SE Framework and PapyrusUtil SSE are all newer than the latest version of version of OSA for SSE. If you want to maintain PapyrusUtil SE separately from Sexlab, use this https://www.nexusmods.com/skyrimspecialedition/mods/13048 and never let anything overwrite it (except maybe newer versions of Sexlab Framework SSE). Both Papyrus Utils (both LE/SE) and Sexlab Framework (both LE/SE) are maintained by Ashal. As long as you stay up to date there you should be good. Then why does Vortex show this?

Back up your game folder as a first line of defence, and then set Steram as above so (hopefully) you won't have to restore that backup too frequently.

If this is the case, you should be able to replicate it by having custom followers be added to SexLab's 'skills' storage. Doing anything SexLab related with them will add them. Then save the game, quit, and disable that follower mod from your mod list. When you next attempt to use the 'Clean System' SexLab option on that save file it should cause the same crash. As there may be a difference, try it both on a follower mod that does and doesn't have an ESL/ESPFE flagged plugin. I have no understanding of what causes this to happen. The related code for debug_cleanup() in PapyrusUtil and the papyrus script that calls it hasn't changed, so either this isn't it or (amazingly) no one has reported it until now. I seem to of found a little workaround for now though I dont know how long this workaround will work for those having the same problem as me waiting for everthing to load in then making another save then loading into that save and waiting for it to load then clicking the clean system button does seem to work though I dont know whether this is a perment workaround.
Elsidia Posted November 16, 2021 Posted November 16, 2021 I wonder why Steam force to get a gift if players don't want this gift? (AE)
biggusthiccus Posted November 16, 2021 Posted November 16, 2021 quick question, does anyone know if the issue with AE is due to the SKSE update being less finished or SL framework needing to update to fit in with SKSE? Both? 1

(AE) Firstly, it's Bethesda forcing the updates. Steam is basically just a conduit, although of course they bend over backwards to aid and abet a major game publisher. Secondly, if you were Bethesda and had concocted a scheme (twice) to set up a paid mod marketplace, going so far as to deliberately and unnecessarily break SKSE-users' games with numerous updates over a 2 year period (2017-2019) and failed both times to kill off free modding, and then been bought up by Microsoft, another company not known for it's customer friendliness, might you not regroup and plan a new assault on free mods using less-easily circumvented methods?
