the answer is linked to the history of the event and the climate of the region where the festival was held. The first party was held around the 1800s and they were held in October, but tourists or visitors complained about the cold nights so the festival was moved to September when the nights are warmer.

 

Seeing this gif makes me want to drink now... ? too bad that tomorrow has a lot of obligations... wait for the weekend now e.e

- Relax, you didn't offend anyone and English is not my native language so I didn't notice the sarcasm in your post.
- Your husband and I are similar in that because beer is a drink that is usually drunk in the hot seasons and he drinks in the cold seasons. In my case, where I live basically the whole year it's hot but during the summer and spring it's even more hot but I drink whisky which is considered a drink for cold days, people keep asking '' how can you drink whisky in a hot day like this ? '' but for me whisky is the best drink for any time of the year. So I understand your husband, our taste for drinks is against logic but whatever. ?

He isn't alcoholic, but he enjoys in it a lot :) I used to drink a lot before i got married and started to live a healthy life. I have wine now only during the lunch or supper. Just as it is for French people, wine is nurturing beverage for us, Italians too and we like it very much. :D

Just the other day I had a conversation with a porcelain bird I have in my bathroom. We talked for a good 45 minutes. It was a very stimulating conversation.

Everyone knows when they are old, but until today it hasn't been so apparent than today in a class I am taking.   The instructor asked what cheesy horror movies were the best ones to watch around Halloween.    I mentioned Creepshow (1980s), but....the rest of the suggestions were ones that I had not seen or even heard of, but the rest of the students were agreeing with each of these (new to me) movie suggestions as if it was common/shared knowledge.  

 

This, coupled with a person at work who had no idea about the band cinderella means that my references, jokes and stories will often times have to be explained.   Like having to explain the significance (or point of the movie) for "Bridge over the River Kwai" or explaining where the phrase "A bridge too far" comes from.   

 

Not complaining, just thinking of the way the world continues to change.
