It is still better a modder to start a patreon page and earn money that way. at least this way he can keep all the money instead of being butt-fucked by Bethesda and lose full rights to his mods. The worst thing still if in future games Bethesda will only release the ck to CC members. That is the day i say fuck Bethesda games there games now way better they will ever make.

Games going big business and greedy bottom-line corporations like EA stepping in. New YOUNG generation of gamers that care only about the flashy shit because they have no idea what a good story/roleplaying is, they dont care about corrpution in the gaming industry and they dont even care about the prices because mommy and daddy are buying them games. More gamers = more casual gamers that dont want complicated/hard games, just like kids dont care about stuff like shitty developer practices, corruption, getting less content ( at least as long as its more shiny and "new" ) etc. Various psychological practices like reviewers getting free shit, corporations having some sleazy spokesmen and a FB account to put their human face, literal blackmails "give a good final score or no more review copies for you", shaming older gamers as a "caveman" that needs to "get in with the times", "stop living in the past", "no one cares" agressive laziness promoted by corporations, various shady semi-legal practices like review embargos etc .

Without mods Skyrim and F4 would be dead long time ago ( less so for Morrowind because it was a good game on its own ). So not only they have shitload of good will but also completely undeserved good will - srsly how many mods simply enable/put into those games shit that needed to be there in vanilla ? Skyrim - Character Creation Overhaul, every body replacer ever ( because i want a naked character, not that fucking ugly ass loincloth ), alternative start mod, Tk Dodge, Race Menu, Frostfall/INeed/Campfire/Hunterborn combo, Auto Unequip arrows, SKYFUCKINGUI, Religions and shitload more ( im not even going to count Unofficial Skyrim/DLC patches ). Fallout 4 - Conquest/Making new settlements, Homemaker/Settlement Supplies ( ffs, those mods simply add an existing items into the settlement building menu, there is not even one original item there ), Survival Options, Hobo scavenger/gimme that bottle, Combat Zone Restored, Armorsmith Extended, Locksmith, scrap everything, crafting benches, Campsite, bottle water and again SHITLOAD more. All of those mods add stuff that should already be in the game because its a logical conclussion to for example get the empty bottle after you drink water from it or to be able to customize your character in Skyrim so you dont have to start as a Standard McDefault everytime ( kudos for Razorfist for coining that term ). And now they want to kill it ... Mark my words - if we dont rage loud and often enough about CC, NuSkyrim and F5 will be Creation Club only. P.s. I hate Jim Sterling but i really dig his style and support him when he calls out shady shit like that.

But this is just fuckin horrible! Good thing I was done playing FO4 anyway. Oh, and Steam downloading that shit whether you want it or not can suck my dick! Told you I hate Steam and Beth is climbing to join them. Yea. I don't have much against steam and like it for some of the features, however, I do agree that this downloading of crap that you didn't pay for or want is shit. Not sure how much is on their end. They might have drank the coolaid and signed some agreement that forces them to follow Bethesda's commands that this shit be added to the download without any check off or sign on. the thing is if you don't want any of the official DLCs you can unclick them and *Poof* they are out of your game file. .. with these "DLC" or "Official Content" you can't do this. You have to go into the folder each time and delete them if you want them gone. (Each time you install or verify cach and perhaps even when the game updates again) Another thing. I thought they could do a great job with this and it might be a good thing however at that time I didn't trust them much and I wasn't disappointed. How can we have real "DLC" content with "Teams" working on mod projects with what.. 4000 records max for each? I wouldn't blame the developers (specifically the drones that code), blame the management for their "so what if it's not done, ship it anyway" mentality. The management is the one who decide on the story, not the drones. If they hired the 100 mod authors as you suggested to make a new game, they would still end up with a bug-riddled, crap-story game because the rot has set in at the management level.

Try making it more clear next time. Unnecessary shit show is not a word i would use to describe what Bethesda is doing - because its not a shitshow, its a calculated and methodical probing the market on the topic of "how much shit can we pull before people will get mad" - typical for shitty developers/publishers.
myuhinny Posted September 2, 2017 Posted September 2, 2017 I haven't bought another game from them since skyrim and from the looks of it that might stay that way indefinitely hell I haven't even tried out SSE even though I could since if they had done their job right in the first place there wouldn't of been a need for a SSE and they could of wasted their time on a different half assed game to shove out half made half working for the real workers of their game to fix.
