Ooh, a demo. That's rare these days. Seems like it responds to dodge button the same day i press it. It should, considering you can set max framerate to 240 and i have the hardware to do just that. Also actually useful guns. And boobs. In that order. So that's a sale ? Also since i decided to skip Bloodborne (after my the controller was embedded to a wall), i moved on to the Ratchet and Clank reboot. Seems like they kept the series humor intact, like the Spyro collection, some monster has translated the entire game, including voice acting to finnish ? Of course the same framerate issue, though it hurts this game a lot less. Fucking retro gaming... ?

Trying to make room on the hard drive for all the new games I've acquired over the last 3 weeks or so due to Steam sales. AC Odyssey/Origins spoiler talk below: Spoiler After finishing Origins Curse of the Pharaoh's DLC, I was quite satisfied with the implementation of the 'after-life' worlds or zones. As progress was being made on Odyssey's DLC, I speculated or more like 'wishfully thought' about visiting Mount Olympus or something like that. With the Legacy quests in Odyssey resembling the Hidden Blade dlc in Origins, Seeing a title screen for the Fate of Atlantis and finding myself in Elysium had me grinning from ear to ear. I decided I'm not in a hurry to finish Odyssey after all. Going to enjoy this last bit since who knows if I'll ever be 'here' again.
Clea Strange Posted January 2, 2020 Posted January 2, 2020 Been playing Endless Space 2 and Tower of Time since I Tower of Time for free on GoG yesterday, I think they still have the free deal still going. Anyways I've been having fun with Tower of Time
Kuroyami Posted January 2, 2020 Posted January 2, 2020 Picked up the Witcher series due to both somewhat wanting to already, and the popularity of it. Only installed and have been playing 3 though. But my god, it is annoying. Characters, story, dialog, all those bits I'm enjoying. The combat? UGH. Not even the combat itself. But the fact that it seems common to get side quests that require high levels, or just have encounters that you don't have any chance of dealing with, either because you don't have the gear/stats for it, or because you didn't get crafty in what your doing. Then you have the fact that side quest give almost nothing in terms of experience, even if you had to do something difficult to complete the quest. What? And cue a Gopher style rant on the fact that a PC game has hardcoded keys - C being a sheath weapon key, even if you want and can to use it to cast signs. Which means that you will also sheath the weapon every time you cast, leaving you vulnerable. Unless you change the key. Wouldn't surprise me if he has a video about this very point. Oh, and nevermind that the game also can't manage the possibly simple thing of allowing one to use Keyboard and Mouse or a controller to play the game. Sure, it does, but unless you physically unplug the controller, the game will not show the Keyboard and mouse inputs. Also, it is funny how that as much as a game like Code Vein has pissed me off, by this point I can deal with that a lot better - I've done a few bosses with different characters in 1 try, for example. The Witcher 3's leveling seems to be constant annoyance that really seems to discourage exploring and side quests, until you get the levels and/or items to make them trivial to do. Sure, you could seek out the items to deal with it a lot easier, or spend a half hour dealing with it otherwise, but either you spend a lot more time on a simple quest, because you need materials that are indeed, not at all close by to where the quest takes place, or you have to struggle through it and do the same fight a few dozen times, or whatever it takes.

Actually mass effect ran like ass until patched three times and didn't run on AMD at all, so your "facts" don't actually back up your premise, secondly the people that made this ad haven't been at the company in forty years so maybe your nostalgia for mutant league has little at all to do with EA's current issues, which started as soon as creators started asking for rights.

There is little evidence that such a statement is true as they are game publishers rather than game developers. Even as far as QA goes, the aforementioned Mass Effect Andromeda, Anthem and The Sims 4 at launch would bring that assertion into question. They certainly do have the funding to hire some of the best in the business to turn out great results from time to time. Whether or not they always allow them to is another matter entirely.
Kendo 2 Posted January 3, 2020 Posted January 3, 2020 I recently played Uncharted 4 (my first game in the franchise). It was fun and challenging. 1
ToJKa Posted January 3, 2020 Posted January 3, 2020 11 hours ago, landess said: Skate or Die! That brings back memories.... It certainly does, had that on Commodore 64, though out of EA games of the era i preferred Racing Desturction Set Fun fact: Electronic Arts was founded as a refuge for developers from exploitative monster corporations like modern day EA is ? 1
Jeff_9 Posted January 6, 2020 Posted January 6, 2020 I took a chance and purchased Terminator Resistance on the last day of the Steam sale, and it's surprisingly good. So far, I'd say this game is at least a 7, not a 4 like IGN gave it. The developers delivered what fans have been wanting for so long: the proper futuristic setting shown in T1 and T2. The T-800 is an intimidating enemy. Sneaking past a squad of them, at night, ducking behind ruined cars and rubble, with the Terminator soundtrack playing, makes for some very tense and immersive gameplay. I also like that you can find some clever references to the films here and there. 2
MrEsturk Posted January 7, 2020 Posted January 7, 2020 Fantasy themed DOOM.... These days I prefer it over Hexen due to it being more straight forward. Finding a fix mod for the hud so its displays correctly on GZDoom was a nice improvement. Heretic is awesome and unlike Hexen doesn't go on for 4 billion years of load screens. Heretic II is actually a better tomb raider than tomb raider. Raven was one of the companies that got me into the biz, and should be a cautionary tale for anyone thinking that corporate umbrella will be strings free, because it never is. Ever. Activision was only a name when Kotick bought it, that's actually WHY he bought it, catalog + cheap fire sale.
landess Posted January 7, 2020 Posted January 7, 2020 I put some hours into the Heretic IP, but needed a better system at the time 2 was released. I watch a few LGR plays when I get a nostalgia bug. To be honest, I have several games I play in some form of rotation. Since I don't watch TV, I realize these are my 'shows'. I hadn't played this in 6 years, but I like to rock. Spoiler
ToJKa Posted January 7, 2020 Posted January 7, 2020 11 hours ago, MrEsturk said: Fantasy themed DOOM.... Exactly my problem with Heretic, it was just a fantasy DOOM ? I always preferred Hexen. I liked it's hub design and complex puzzles. And other mechanics too, haven't played it in years so i've forgotten most of it. I do remember The Heresiarch, way creepier than the Cyberdemon. That reminds me, i've never played too much Hexen 2. That was on Quake or Quake 2 engine so it should run on Windows 10 with little trouble... Meanwhile in Waifu Souls, i do love those bosses that attack from other side of the arena and stun lock you for 10 seconds. No, no Mr. Queen's Knight, you tell me when you're done. I'll wait. Well, at least i got the Platinum Trophy on Rathcet and Clank. Death by Disco was totally worth it ?
Zor2k13 Posted January 9, 2020 Posted January 9, 2020 I have played through the entire mass effect series (androgynous doesn't count) and I can tell you it ain't worth it. Every time I get the itch to play it again I literally cringe and do something else.
ToJKa Posted January 9, 2020 Posted January 9, 2020 Yeah, played the trilogy myself not too long ago, but left it unfinished since other games just caught my interest. I did wonder while playing it: did Bloware EVER have any quality standards? Andromeda actually seems to be natural continuation in the decline of quality  As for Waifu Souls, the developers clearly played their Dark Souls, but did not understand it. At least the bosses are quick to kill, so you don't have to deal with the bullshit for long. Guess i'll have to play it just for the boobs then Stationary boobs, framerates over 30 breaks the jiggle physics ?
landess Posted January 9, 2020 Posted January 9, 2020 Ok, I did a google search for games with a protagonist named Jill. I swear, google search is becoming totally useless. Everyone knows this but me... Anyways as a non-consoler ( I make it up as I go ) I couldn't find the name of the game above this post....

ToJKa Posted January 10, 2020 Posted January 10, 2020 Call me names, but she's hotter in the tight combat outfit she has in the unmodded game ? That's it for Waifu Souls then, wasn't that a sweet and hopeful ending. Final bosses were surprisingly easy, but with unsurprising looks. The japanese must have a thing for angelic-looking demons or something. Reminded me a bit of Satanail in Star Ocean 4. Well, "battlemage" (or "Ultimate Badass Thunder Witch With a Sword") works, let's try the "assassin" (or "Guns At Beyond Sight And Impossible to Hit In Close Combat While Stabbing You In The Back")
