In answer to your question....my answer doesn't matter since I am not the target audience anymore.   I want the women in my games to be sexy, tough and friendly.   As for male characters, again, it doesn't matter much but it better not be a Mr. Bean looking fellow, and should be the man I wish I could look like.    However, I also don't like amateur porn because I married the girl next door.   In the end, it is a matter of preference and game manufacturers will go where the dollars lead them.  If that is into woke, then so be it.

Penguin Batman might have been a thing. Given the habit of putting different characters behind the mask and/or name of a hero in the comic book industry I wouldn't be surprised.

I think the characters should have variety, every females being made out the same mold would just become redundant. Though if there were only two options, notably a boring variety and no female at all, I would opt for basic female shapes at the very least.

 

It would depend on the chosen visual style, take games like Temtem or Animal Crossing, for instance, the styles render it fine for the bodies to be basic as long as there's a female shape to be found; otherwise, games in styles allowing more "revealed" forms would feel rather drab were they to lack flexibility in that field.

Have you really forgotten the term Eastern Europe even if it was largely Cold War terminology? Everyone still uses 1st-3rd World even though those phrases have no meaning whatsoever outside of a Cold War context. It essentially was used as 'Anywhere but the First World European Nations' up until the turn of the century.

Now I can hardly shake the recollections of where current events or treatments of hot button historical topics in sequential art could be found leading up to the turn of the century, inside of individual stories largely kept separate from any main series continuity if it was not kept apart from any entertainment property altogether, be it in Maus, Palestine, Persepolis or Fax from Sarajevo. Not only did this allow those issues to be treated with the necessary gravity, it spares a purely fictional series from being bogged down in politics without the benefit of neutrality or hindsight as well as preventing it from becoming an unintentional period piece regardless of what time period the story is set in.

 

I have to wonder how Fax from Sarajevo would have fit into G.I. Joe or if The Nam could have worked as a straight retelling of the events of the actual Vietnam War which just so happened to feature Frank Castle (better known as The Punisher) in the stories.

I live in Europe and I have a degree in Politics and Contemporary History as well as having studied history for over 50 years.

Never use words such as 'everyone' as it makes your points vulnerable to a single counter example. The second sentence would make the USA either a second or third world country. These 'worlds' were First - NATO members; Second - Warsaw Pact and Third the non-aligned.

In this country at least, one of the reasons use of the term 'Third World' is frowned upon is that it is considered 'racist'. It is thought to refer to some sort of economic prosperity metric.

1. The definition of 'Eastern Europe' varies greatly.

2. Some of those 'conflicts' are in southern Europe and some in western Asia. There are even one or two in western Europe and many of those in the east are recurring conflicts in the same region or state.

Here is what is currently in my mind.

I spend too much time with modding neglecting outdoor activities and people and i really have to move away from it.

Currently its more an addiction to see what mods are around, install and test till bored. But i am spending too much time with it.

I even put a deletion request of my account.

It was great while it lasted. Great experiences.

All things come to an end though.

Considering he's already been recontextualized and retconned to Afghanistan, essentially moot to the latter and as for the former, with a writer actually capable of empathy and correctly expressing the dichotomy of humane versus human, sure. Pretty sure two sequences from The Nam were actually used in the Netflix mini series.

 

In the case of Maus, it shouldn't be touched, period; well meaning or not, you're just going to distort what the author hoped most would be taken from the book. It's up to the reader to do any contemporizing after the fact. If junior high kids can get it, so can anyone else.

I suppose the best way to help is either personally helping to care for the ukrainian refugees (almost all help around here in the first days was by voluntary people), or you get in contact with the next official ukrainian embassy and ask them.
