Depends. The land itself is 5,000 Septims. If you farm all the materials, aside from glass, yourself, you get away with about 5,100 Septims in total.

Sounds a bit overdramatic. But who am I to judge? I lived in an apartment where the previous tenants got murdered. So in the end, it isn't too different I guess. Maybe I should take a look at some player homes. Or build my own Hearthfire home.

It's been 5 months since I touched Skyrim so I fired up my last save and headed in. I started in Whiterun so I was mooching about trying to get back up to speed when the courier handed me a letter which invited me to meet some one out on the road to Morrowind past Traitor's Post and Refugee's Rest. I'm not 100% on what mod this is but I vaguely remember something I read on a description page the day before. That is a very violent part of the map so I'm thinking backup.

 

I rustle up 13 followers from a couple of places in Whiterun and off we set for Windhelm.

 

We leave Whiterun and get as far as the stables before one of the gels decides she needs to shag a horse.

 

 

She couldn't wait for the horse and ran round the back to get at it.

I'm also noticing that there is something not right with my roads or something.


 

 

 

Down to the bus stop and turn left. We see a guard fighting a bandit. The guard had dealt with it before we got involved.

 

 

 

 

 

We made it as far as the meadery before the next fight. I don't want to know why the Brotherhood of the Mead guy is barefoot.

 

 

 

 

 

We get as far as Battle-Born farm and one of the gels needs to shag a dog or a dog needs to shag one of the gels. Big Alf is beginning to see the writing on the wall by this point.

 

 

 

 

 

I decide to nip into Skyrim Community College, which is just off camera to the rear left, and do a bit of weapon upgrading for the gels. SL Pheromones kicks in.

 

 

This is the second go. First when I transitioned into the college and this as I've just transitioned into this area.


 

 

 

Finished in the college and leave. Those pesky pheromones.

 

 

 

 

 

By this point I'd had enough of Pheromones and also Yamete! so I exited the game and got rid of both of them. But not before I'd got to the main road and another big fight followed by more pheromone follies.

 

 

 

 

 

No sooner finished looting the dead when a solo nutter comes over the horizon.

 

 

 

 

 

The gels dealt with him and it turns out he was an assassin and he was carrying a note.

 

 

 I'm guessing an SE user.


 

 

 

We reach the brow of the hill where the assassin was. Several things here. The dead bodies were nothing to do with us and there were a lot more of them than this shot shows.

My LODs are not looking good and there is something very wrong with the road.

 

 

 

 

 

As far as the giant camp and two wolves attack. We are starting to lose the light.

 

 

 

 

 

A few steps further and it's an ice wraith. It wasn't hostile so I suppose you could say it was a nice wraith.

 

 

 

 

 

We get to the junction and are attacked by a bandit. We are helped by a couple of Vigilants of Stendarr, one of whom doesn't make it.

 

 

 

 

 

We turn right and get involved in a running battle with at least two different groups of ne'er do wells.

 

 

 



 

Back to the main road where we get a bear closely followed by a warthoggy whatsit (just visible at bottom of the shot). The gel on the left is supposed to be Angelina Jolie.
 

 

 

 

 

Just past Nightgate Inn and another ice wraith. I always end up blood spattered after one of those warthog things.
 

 

Past the mill and down to the bridge and the mandatory highwayman.

 

 

 

We made it as far as here before two wolves attacked and then disappeared about 5 seconds after being killed.

 

 

 

Finally arrive at Windhelm bus stop only to get involved in another running fight.

 

 


 

Fair-sized difference in FPS in those last two shots considering they are in the same general area.

 

All this before we get to the really violent part. ? I'm currently in Windhelm waiting for daylight. There's no way I'm going to get involved in a running night fight with what is out there. I might even sign up another squad of gels. ?

Muppetry. The note must have been from Yamete! which I uninstalled earlier. ☹️

 

Did Traitors' Post easily enough - about the same number as us but mostly non-magical.

The gels have just finished off the last straggler. Note the firebolt/ball up near Refugee's Rest. The screenshot isn't doing the scene justice it was fiery city up there.

 

In we go. I think all of them are magic users.

 

I think I was correct.

 

I died the first two times. Third time I ran the equivalent of about six marathons trying to avoid frost, fire and shock magic.
