In terms of mods requiring the Anniversary Edition it almost always means the 2nd. Unless you got the game before AE came out and then blocked updates you would have the new version and would have to get mods that work with AE. And you do have AE according to your version number. I literally bought the game yesterday so I'm guessing that the AE version of the mod should work for me even though I haven't bought the AE dlc yet? Anyway, thanks alot for your help, much appreciated.

Skyrim: Special Edition the action "go to sex" is suggested, but they just stand and do nothing. still not working so i think there is a problem with mods However, we can hear sex sounds like moans and panting stand idle and sounds can be heard but no animation. The characters go back to their normal state afterwards and the game works fine. Screenshots are of ''during'' the animation and before the characters strip, since they just stand staring at each other for a moment mods Aroused Creatures SE with creature support So you asked me withDM, but your problem is not related with my mod right? because without you can start sexlab correctly, my mod (tag and dialog sex + prositute add on) never work... so if you need help about my mod,, please confirm you can start sexlab animation, with match maker etc first.. though I hope to help you, but I am not AE user = not use Sexlab 1.64,, so about usuall sexlab start problem I can not offer advice etc.. sorry to reply here directly..

Anyway, thanks alot for your help, much appreciated. AE in the context of modding almost always refers to version 1.6.x of the game, where it almost never matters if you have the AE DLC or not (exceptions apply in instances where a mod is specifically FOR a piece of CC content). People insisting we continue to call it SE are making the distinction needlessly complicated. Yes, it may not technically be accurate, but it provides a clear-cut line for what we can call the versions. We have SE, which generally refers to Skyrim Special Edition 1.5.x and lower. We have AE, which refers to Skyrim Special edition 1.6.x+ We have the AE DLC, which refers to 1.6+ AND the CC Content.

The correct nomenclature is the following: Anniversary Edition (AE) is a product you have to buy if you want it. It is the latest version of Skyrim Special Edition with some Creation Club content already packaged with it. Anniversary Upgrade (AU) is latest version of Skyrim Special Edition. It is just an update like many other before that, given a stupid glorified name. It is nothing more, just an update to the game binaries and data. If you already have Skyrim Special Edition and you keep it up to date, you will have this version. Why people use a "special" name for it and treat it as something that stands apart from what they perceive as "SSE", is beyond me, all updates already have a distinctive identifier, which is the version number, and all of them are just updates. So, when you say "SE" or "SSE", you can mean ANY OF THE ABOVE, but because there are too many ignorant people who think that (S)SE is the term for the older version of the game, it is usually used as such (the power of stupid is simply greater). When you say "AE", it is clear you mean the latest/recent SSE 1.6+ with the CC content. When you say "AU", it is clear you mean the latest/recent SSE 1.6+ without the CC content. And when you say "SSE 1.6+", you probably mean to refer to the latest/recent SSE 1.6+ without the CC content, but it can be both, because with or without the CC content, the game is still SSE, and the version is still 1.6+. All it matters is the executable product version. I don't know why people keep coming up with names for this stuff when it's not standard at all (even your AE/AU distinction is incorrect if you take the store page for the Skyrim Anniversary Upgrade as reference, which is sold as a DLC with all the CC content). Both the free update and paid DLC have CC files. And the presence of CC files is not relevant when talking mod compatibility (unless a mod requires a CC, but that's out of the scope of the SE/AE mystical dilemma, which is all about exe version + SKSE version + SKSE plugin versions matching, not requirements). Mind correcting the major inconsistency there? If you update the game to 1.6, you get some CC content reguardless of if you have bought the DLC or not. This is the same if you just installed the game or updated. Your explanation seems to imply that "AU" is BOTH the updated version of the game for people who went from 1.5 -> 1.6 AND people who purchased the AE DLC. You also imply that "AE" means 1.6 as installed by people who do not own the DLC, and did not go from 1.5 -> 1.6. SE -> 1.5 and before (Previous versions of the game did not have an easy way to distinguish them apart from the version number). AE -> 1.6+ (more than likely). EVERYONE who updates or installs the game will have this version. AE DLC -> 1.6 AND the DLC. The executable is still named Special Edition reguardless of which version we are talking about, but creating fancy and inconsistent terms to refer to the game does not help anyone. It should be noted that the AE DLC comes with all of the CC content, while AE only comes with 4 (fishing, saints and seducers, rare curios, and survival mode) for free.

Ah, yeah, i made a mistake with the AU. "Anniversary Edition" (AE) is something you have to buy, and it is the game and bunch of CC crap. "Anniversary Upgrade" (AU) is also something you have to buy, and it is just the CC crap (no game included, you have to have it, or buy it separately). "Anniversary Update" is what some call the regular game update to bare (S)SE, an update that comes with just some lame CC mods. When describing what game and CC content someone has, both AE and AU are equal. They both mean you have SSE 1.6+ and all that CC crap. (while AU technically is just the CC crap, you cannot use it unless you also have the game, so in the context of describing what game version and with what somebody has, it is effectively same as AE) TLDR: When describing what version of the game binary, the EXE, someone has, then AE, AU, or (S)SE 1.6+ all describe the same thing. If you write (S)SE without specifying version, it can mean anything (yes, even 1.6+, or AE, or AU, as they all are the same game which is SSE), which is why you need to specify version if it is relevant to the discussion you are having. When describing what kind of content, the data, somebody has, then both AE and AU are the same (they both come with same CC crap), while (S)SE implies no CC crap, and (S)SE 1.6+ implies just the CC crap that comes with what some call the "Anniversary Update" (not to be confused with "Anniversary Upgrade"), a regular update 1.6+ for SSE, which comes with only some CC crap (Fishing, Saints and Seducers, etc.). There is no such thing as "AE DLC" which you made up. Edited April 2, 2022 by Roggvir

A modder is provided with a wealth of tools and functions they can call that will aid them in creating their own mod. As it is intended as a resource mod that other mods can pull from to use for adult animations. This mod does NOTHING by itself, and requires a separate mod to make use of the resources provided. ----- Frequently Asked Questions ------------------------------------------- http://www.loverslab.com/topic/17711-sexlab-frequently-asked-questions-faq/ ----- Requirements ------------------------------------------------------------- Skyrim Script Extender (SKSE) REQUIRES SKSE 2.1.2 OR NEWER Address Library for SKSE Plugins Fores New Idles in Skyrim SE (FNIS) REQUIRES FNIS 7.0.0 OR NEWER FNIS Creature Pack version 5.2 or newer is required only if you want creature animation support in SexLab, otherwise it is not required. If you get a warning in game about not having 5.2 installed despite having installed it. You have without exception, installed it incorrectly. You can either ignore the warning and keep using SexLab like normal if everything working anyway, or do the smart thing and figure out what's wrong with your FNIS install so the warning will leave you alone. SkyUI SE REQUIRES VERSION 5.0 OR NEWER An actor skeleton mod such as XP32 Maximum Skeleton Special Extended (XPMSSE) ----- Basic Installation Procedure ------------------------------------------ After properly installing SKSE, SkyUI, and FNIS as listed above, follow these steps. Download the latest full framework pack & install it using your mod manager of choice (Mod Organizer highly preferred.) Run the GenerateFNISforUsers.exe tool. If you have a custom animation skeleton installed (very likely, if you don't you should. See: XPMSSE ) make sure you check the "Skeleton arm fix" patch. Click the big button that reads "Update FNIS Behavior" You should see a line that says "Reading SexLab..." if not you've done something wrong. DO NOT ignore any warnings or errors you see in the FNIS window. Activate the SexLab.esm file in your list of active mods. Load or start a new save game in Skyrim and navigate to the Mod Configuration menu titled "SexLab" Check that you meet the requirements on the left pane and then click the Install option in the top right. NOTE: Some of the checks you'll see there are only soft dependencies, or can be a false-negative. If the Install button is clickable for you, just go ahead and continue. [*]Close all menus and stand still until the install finishes, it can take a few minutes. ----- Basic Update Procedure ------------------------------------------------- Download the latest full framework archive, if you are using a version older than 1.60, you will need the full archive, otherwise you will only need the update patch. Extract the updated framework/patch into your Skyrim's data folder, or if using Mod Organizer (like you should be) then merge the files ontop of an existing MO mod install for SexLab Framework. (optional, but recommended for safest upgrade) Disable ALL SexLab related mods except for SexLab.esm and any that are absolutely required or disabling will mean losing progress on in some way. Navigate to your Skyrim's data/tools/GenerateFNIS_for_Users folder and run the GenerateFNISforUsers.exe utility. If you have a custom animation skeleton installed (if you dont, you should) make sure you check the "Skeleton arm fix" patch. Click the big button that reads "Update FNIS Behavior" You should see a line that says "Reading SexLab ..." if not you've done something wrong. Load your save game and you should see a notification that SexLab is updating and/or installing, it will then go through the update process. [*]Wait 1-2 minutes, until you see a notification that says SexLab has finished updating and/or installing [*]Wait another 30 seconds or so and then perform a quick test animation either via the SexLab MatchMaker mod or by starting one via the animation editor. [*]Assuming the test animation was successful, save your game with the update now fully applied, you should see the appropriate version number listed on the last page of the SexLab MCM. [*](optional, but recommended for safest upgrade) if you followed step 3, you should now reinstall all the SexLab mods you disabled, ensuring you are using the latest version of each. For best results reinstall them one at a time and make sure they are functional with the new version of SexLab before reinstalling the next one. ----- Creature Use Instructions ----------------------------------------- If you want to use creature animations, you will need to follow some extra installation instructions. Install the latest FNIS and the latest FNIS Creature Pack if you have not yet, both of which are available on the FNIS Download page Run GenerateFNISforUsers and click the big "Update FNIS Behavior" button. After it finishes patching, you should see 2 lines, "Create Creature Behaviors ..." and BELOW that "Reading SexLabCreature ..." Load your Skyrim save Navigate to the SexLab Mod Configuration menu and go to the first available settings page, "Animation Settings" Check the box for "Allow Creature Animation" so that it is in a toggled on state (the box is filled instead of empty) You will need to install mod that lets you start animations with creatures, as SexLab Framework does not start any animations by itself. SexLab MatchMaker works with creatures, and is the more straight forward of means to start creature animations. For others, look through the download page for SexLab mods with creature support ----- Uninstalling ---------------------------------------------------------------- To cleanly uninstall the mod, perform the following steps. With your current installation, go into MCM and select the "Rebuild & Clean" page. Click on the row that says "Clean System" You will be prompted to close all your current menus, do so. After closing your menus and being told the system clean is complete, save your game. Perform the uninstall procedure for any 3rd party SexLab mods you have installed. Quit the game. Disable SexLab.esm and any SexLab mods you have enabled in your load order ----- Changelog ---------------------------------------------------------------- v1.64: (TODO) ----- Modder's Guide ------------------------------------------------------------- A modders guide to using the API can be partially found in scripts/sources/SexLabFramework.psc as well as here: http://git.loverslab.com/sexlab/framework/wikis/home WARNING: The API docs are currently fairly outdated in some spots for v1.60. Waggish Posted April 16, 2022 Posted April 16, 2022 (edited) I'm getting a CTD immediately on startup and can't figure it out. I'd been running the game with mods just fine up until Steam forced the update to AE and then sort of let the game fall by the wayside for a bit because I didn't have the patience to fight all the mods that hadn't gotten updates at the time. Got back in and I've installed updates to my mods and they're all in the same load order they used to be but without fail I get a CTD immediately on startup. (In a couple cases I got as far as the Bethesda logo but that's as far as I've been getting.) I've downloaded and am using SKSE 2.1.5 for game version 1.6.353 which I've confirmed in my steamapps/common is indeed my game version. I've verified the integrity of the game files and running it straight from Steam rather than SKSE works fine and I can get into the game and play it so the download isn't the problem. I tried to enable logging but it's not writing the logs anywhere but BOSS is telling me "Error: SexLab.esm is not present or is not active. Skyrim will CTD when loading if using this file without it." The weird thing is from what I can tell that esm is enabled. I'm running NMM and it's showing up in my Plugins as active early on in the load order like it should be. Wrye Bash confirms that the esm is present and where it should be with its blue box and checkmark (and none of my active mods are showing any issues) and LOOT isn't showing anything as dirty or broken. In other words I'm at a loss as to what I could be doing wrong here, especially since it did work pre-AE update and if I anyone has any ideas I'd appreciate it before I have to go in and do a complete wipe and reinstall of all mods. SexLab already support Futa actors but still is a bit buggy on this version. For better support check my "SexLab Utility Plus" that is basically a unofficial update. By the way SexLab identify the actor as Futa when his SexLab Gender is different from his Vanilla Sex. That means that you can just change the gender of the actor on the Animation Settings page of the SexLab MCM or use some of the Mods that automatically do that when the actor is using a Futanari Schlong. 1

This is concise, widely shared and understood, and fully supported by actual events: The first version 1.6.x (with or without paid content) was released on Skyrim's 10th anniversary. Thus, by definition, any version 1.6.x is the/an Anniversary Edition All versions 1.6.x (with or without paid content) were recompiled with Visual Studio 2019, rendering them incompatible with all previous versions and with SKSE64 On 4/2/2022 at 10:37 AM, Roggvir said: "Anniversary Edition" (AE) is something you have to buy, and it is the game and bunch of CC crap. "Anniversary Upgrade" (AU) is also something you have to buy, and it is just the CC crap (no game included, you have to have it, or buy it separately). "Anniversary Update" is what some call the regular game update to bare (S)SE, an update that comes with just some lame CC mods. The above hypothesis is your opinion, of course, just as this rebuttal post is my opinion, but the "AE/AU/other AU" hypothesis is not supported by logic, nor by the very definition of the words "Anniversary Edition" nor by the only differentiation factor that actually matters to anyone, i.e. AE's incompatibility with previous SSE versions, SKSE64 (at the time of AE release), and many native code sensitive DLL mods. I would respectfully submit that your definitions (quoted above) are Rube Goldbergishly overcomplicated, not widely shared or understood (if at all- I have never seen them anywhere other than in your quoted post) and not coincident with the one and only defining characteristic that matters to anyone: the incompatibility between all previously-released versions of 64-bit Skyrim and the versions released on and after the game's 10th Anniversary date. The matter of how much Crapware Club garbage was included in this or that AE release is irrelevant to anyone except Bethesda. 1

SSEEdit, Wrye Bash, Vortex, MO2 and LOOT can all tell you about Missing Masters. In rare cases, CTD on launch can be caused by a bad texture (dds) file, e.g. dimensions not divisible by 4 or an uncompressed cubemap. Both of these texture issues were OK in Oldrim, but are not OK in SSE. You can use NifOptimizer's Texture Scan to find any bad textures, then GIMP, Photoshop or any similar graphics utility (with a dds plugin) to fix any bad texture files found by NifOptimizer. 17 hours ago, Waggish said: BOSS is telling me [...] Now there's a utility I haven't seen mentioned in 5 years! You might consider jumping into the nineties and using Vortex+LOOT or MO2+LOOT or Wrye Bash instead of [whatever Mod Manager]+BOSS. 17 hours ago, Waggish said: "Error: SexLab.esm is not present or is not active. Skyrim will CTD when loading if using this file without it." Bingo! This confirms what I just posted above. You need to install/activate (the correct version of) SexLab Framework and make sure that SexLab.esm is activated. Again, Vortex or MO2 should make this a lot easier for you to do.
Guest Posted April 19, 2022 Posted April 19, 2022 AE in general is a mess of changed script and badly set up creation club alterations for AE DLC, a few creations cause an increase in game freezing and CTD's after completion like battle of the champions the AE DLC effected version of this creation has been documented to cause an escalation in freezes and crashes after completion, one could hope bethesda is forced to fix this but hope doesn't shine on elderscrolls lol. as for SLF make sure you version match your mods 1.6.353 is the current game runtime make sure everything is for it don't expect address lib to fix all the issues and don't attempt to install it in a save if one of the two number. are filled eg 16401/16401 and the other is 0/16401 the game will CTD every time ya try if ya get this bug although its more AE causing this one instead of SLF

Amazonian Ara Posted April 20, 2022 Posted April 20, 2022 (edited) Alright, I'm at a headscratcher with my issue. I'm running the following: FNIS Behavior SE 7_6 XXL FNIS Spells SE 7.0 My FNIS output has the scripts and tools folders etc The regular animations all seem fine with no issues at all. for Sexlab I'm running: SexLabFrameworkAE_v164c SLAnimLoader Patched SE SL TOOLS Updated SexLabMatchMaker MassMatchmaker ZaZ Animation Pack+ CBBE HDT V.8.0+SEREV3 Billyy's SLAL Animations 5.4 I have used SLAnimLoader to load the SLAL pack. Sexlabs shows 263 loaded animations, and I have removed all of the filtering. Everything looks fine, however when I go to run a sex animation it seems as if most of them aren't actually loaded up correctly. In the console I can see it selecting one of the Billy animations and then skipping to Zaz Facefuck (which does play accurately). When I use tools 'shift H' to select another tag I only get a few animations showing up to use at all and all of them are Zaz animations. This is a new game, I initially tried out some new Leito animations and tried running FNIS Creatures but due to these issues I got rid of both them thinking maybe they were the issue. Nothing I try though seems to clear up the issue. The game before this everything was peachy fine, I'm not sure why I'm having this issue now. Has anyone ever experienced something like this? Edit: Hopefully I found the right papyrus entries. 2ND Edit: Ok it might be something with the settings? Running Clean in SexLabs seems to have helped. Still not sure what setting blocked most of the animations. papyrus.txt Edited April 21, 2022 by Amazonian Ara added a file
