Thinking of making an Orc lives matter mod. You know, throw in support by many of the Imperials in a move to rip the Empire apart from the inside because of the long standing systemic racism that the Empire was founded on. Meanwhile the Aldmeri Dominion will take notice of this and start to support OLM first with gold, then with arms. It will culminate with the AD mobilizing and invading the now thoroughly weakened Empire and taking it with ease- enslaving everyone. Do you think players will like it? Could be ES6 main plot for all I know.

Sounds pretty awesome!  I'm jazzed about it.  Just one little minor tiny suggestion.......make them wear masks. ??? ?

Oh, I've got to include some mysterious illness that sweeps all of Tamriel that seemingly originated in the Summerset Isles- which of course causes wide spread fear at first and then anger at the Elder Council's apparent lack of proper study and response due to political infighting. Story is coming along quite nicely as this stuff practically writes itself. 

 

The kicker in all of this is that most of the people of Tamriel were so tired of being responsible and providing for themselves as somewhat or mostly free citizens that they almost happily took to their new roles as slaves under the harsh but efficient rule of the Aldmeri because they knew they would always be provided for as long as they serve without question. In fact the Aldmeri have developed powerful spells to reward obedience in them with intense feelings of pleasure and ,of course, equally intense feelings of pain for disobedience. It is the intervention of one of the gods that causes one (the player) to begin questioning the crushing rule of the Aldmeri and decide a course of action. :classic_smile:

Not surprising. I'm willing to bet all of this will influence every art form there is for years to come. What's appealing about it in a game is that you can step outside the issues as more of an observer to examine things from every angle- and trying to poke or have fun with it at the same time. :)

They weren't poking fun, they were banning people that ran campaigns with orcs as enemies from their forums and recommending people doing the same on twitch via twitter. Again, not even kidding.

Yeah, that's surprising.....and completely fucked up. Wonder if the proposed section 230 amendments will do anything about that- or if they'll even see the light of day with an administration change.

Are we doing good for the world? Um no. But we're here nonetheless. Oh and we are getting a steady stream of new mods too.

And I really really hate that an issue like this that's widely researched by scientists around the world is so politicized.

That virus doesn't give a shit about muh freedom or overbearing governments, it will just kill you (or 3 to 10% of people, the more overburdened ERs get the higher the percentage ... which is a lot deadlier than the flu) no matter what you believe.

So government restrictions might be necessary to protect people from themselves.

 

And there shouldn't even be a discussion about masks or vaccines. Just read the studies and shut up.

 

Well, I guess it's their problem if people don't get the vaccine as soon as it's there. Natural selection at work and all.

Still a shame, wish we could go back to trusting scientists instead of clickbaity youtubers and conspiracy theorists. This whole issue is making a lot of people look so freaking dumb it's a really depressing outlook for humanity as a whole.

Thank god I'm in Germany and not in the US though, taking all necessary measures to contain this virus is not a partisan issue here and I would be ashamed of my country if it was. Reading all that noise and bullshit from overseas is still kinda annoying.
