snap'n build (dont know why might be updating )

you may want to start backing up mods just in case

Apparently they're leaving due to a dispute with the Nexus moderators over something kinda understandable, they did some pretty dick tactics in order to ban this other guy with circumstantial evidence and hearsay over anything concrete.  Nothing really to do with paid mods or whatever.

That's kinda why I stay far, far, far away from the Nexus if I can, they're too quick to ban and have a bit of a guilty until proven innocent vibe.  That's what I see as the main issue with Nexus, the donation button is pretty much just that, there's no one forcing you to click it to donate, the moderators on the other hand.

I don't post anything on the nexus forums, especially my own logs, since I use a complex series of symbolic links I'm afraid one of the logs will end up showing my actual directory path and they'll just implement an instaban without any follow-up, or at least without any follow-up that doesn't lead to me compromising my privacy by either sending my personal steam account and proof that it's me, or an invoice which is even worse when it shows my address.

Nexus is all about having revenue so they get afraid pretty quick which is understandable.

I just don't see myself releasing anything up there for various reasons, if anyone wants to use it, they can go right ahead.

A lot of old mods been removed from nexus because people complained about it or because a moderator feel its offensive, (There was a male version of Shojo race and people got offended and user got banned for it..crazy right?) if I am not allowed to share my mods with even 10% people because 90% disliked it or felt offended, I don't want to support their modding site.

Loverslab and fallout4.blog.jp is what I recommend.

I don't think anyone should stop modding, just they should open a blog or try out a new website. Nexus isn't the only site around.

I'm not trying to bash Bethesda but I just have to say it: Bethesda-style Fallout games feel more inspired by '80s sci-fi schlock than the '50s sci-fi schlock that originally inspired the creators at Interplay/Black Isle. Consoles instead of bulky punch card mainframes, high-tech decor that feel more like something out of Star Trek: TNG than the original Star Trek or other cheesy, low-production, classics-for-damn-good-reasons sci-fi shows and movies, and obviously, Replicants. That isn't the Fallout universe I fell in love with 20+ years ago when the first game came out. Attempts to maintain the original ambiance with tube-style radios, TVs with 12" screens, and "space age" furniture that looks straight out of The Jetsons is really jarring when contrasted with the things mentioned earlier.

Not that '80s-style schlock doesn't have a place. Just not in the Fallout universe. I know, I know, '80s post-apocalypse movies like Road Warrior were a huge influence on the original games. The references to them didn't clash with that '50s ambiance that was so lovingly established; even the one-sleeve leather jacket would have fit in fine in Rebel Without A Cause.

Mods that could change things to be wholly '50s or wholly '80s would be a step to resolving this blow to suspension of disbelief.

I went to do some errands today and went into a EB Games to pick up a PS3 controller charger when they told me about a Game of the Year Edition for Fallout 4 being released. I went home and did some research and found this:

https://bethesda.net/en/article/1flg4XQFe4UcUGSCqe4k2S/fallout-4-game-of-the-year-edition

I have a original pipboy collectors edition and now that this is coming out I can keep it factory sealed and finally start playing Fallout 4 after nearly 2 years of its release. For anyone else who is up in the air about playing it maybe when this gets released would be a good time to pick it up and start playing. Just wanted to share this information to everyone who didn't know yet.

Just now, there is a new update for this game (oO). No idea of what is it.

It's the creation club update.

Did anyone get all the ba2's of the CC content? It may be a bug, but that means someone could theoretically remake the CC content and only upload the ESPs and that technically would be legal, as you'd still be using vanilla content that comes with the game, whether there from the beginning or added via update like the ba2's.

I stopped the download so don't know. However that's a tad worrying.

i.e. If they are dumping all the assets on everyones box, that sort of means that anytime there is new CC content, then you'll get an update. Depending on how they do it, (i.e. if it also comes with a .exe change as well everytime), then that will mean an F4SE change will have to be made as well - which is probably just going to kill it for the good old script extender in the future.

Posted

Good thing for me: I always setup updates to manually / start of the game. And because of F4Se bypass this "start game" effect, I can really control when I want to update. The downside is: you must launch your game by F4SE everytime. Not a bad deal though.

Posted

^ That's why I have Bethesda games set in Steam to ''only update this game after launching it'' and then I launch it via script extender exe and not original launcher/exe, this way I can avoid their stupid pointless (and console centered) updates for months :P

Nice. Time to find something else to do for the next hours / days / weeks until all affected mods are patched.

BTW the current implementation of the "Shit Club" content has to be a mistake? It doesn't just download all the store items and changes the Fallout4.exe, but also updates the entire 1.5GB meshes archive and others.

So my assumption that the CC is directly aimed at destroying the traditional free modding scene just got more likely, because this means that the whole "can't-play-until-mods-are-updated" disaster will happen with each CC update which could be every few days or weeks from now on.

If they plan to do this very thing, they'll kill all their business, like shot in their feets.

This kind of gae without mods is likely dead in weeks. Too bugguy and boring without any mod.

The legions of console peasants will probably disagree.

They still play the game on oversized blurry TVs with their wobbly gamepads, they still put things on rugs because they can't use Place Everywhere, and they will buy all the fucking crap from the CC.

Especially PS4 players since they couldn't get any mods with user-made content at all.

It's been a long time since my last play F4. I start a new game and something wrong with damage i receive from enemies (Survival Mode). For example, in Sanctuary there a building with 3 bloatfly's in past they kill me in ~5-10s (naked, 1lvl). Now i can stand over ~30-40s under their fire... I don't have any balance changes and armor's mods. Bethesda something mess up with balance or something wrong with my personal game?

I switch to Very Hard and this bloatfly's deals 0 impact damage and only 1-2 radiation damage... It's for real?! Maybe something wrong with my game itself?

scumbag Bethesda removed GOTY edition from steam, replaced it with bundle pack and hiked the price by 150% and then gave 58% discount on that bundle.

I bought it all on sale for half price or less during the various Steam sales.

Funniest thing I have seen in FO4 so far: Go help Paladin Danse get the Deep Range Transmitter and when you get to where the turrets are there is a room off to the left with a console where you can disable the turrets. I ran in and turned them off before Danse could display his horrible marksmanship on the turrets. He ended up just standing there, wouldn't even answer if I spoke to him. I bet if I listen closely I could hear him sobbing quietly about not getting to shoot the turrets. So I went and turned them back on and he was happy and got to shoot turrets.
