I always start my game on max difficulty, so early game is hard to begin with, especially since I started to use SL Survival. So I literally tend to buy my first house from this. :D And as an added bonus, the quest bondage gear provides an insane buff, so I have more survivability with it, than with the armor the quest strips from me. And mana / stamina for days top spam spells / heavies. So, usually I spent the first like 20-30 hours of character intentionally freezing this quest to buff myself up.

Well,. not anymore. I guess I'll have to ease up some other mod settings, which I hate to do, but this update has WAY too much interesting goodies for me to pass. :P 

 

I recommend trying Requiem if you want a challenge in the early game. You also get less loot but there is a chance to get any loot at any level. Good loot is just more rare, which is only realistic. The whole mod is centered around making the game semi-realistic with static level enemies and loot. Some enemies are so strong that you need a really high level to beat them, so working hard to get there is actually rewarding and not just a couple of fake numbers. You can still change the difficulty(it has its own difficulty sliders) if things are too easy/hard.

 

There might be some exploits there too, like abusing deadly traps to kill enemies, but if they are there, it's because it makes sense and not just because the modder thoughtlessly added stuff that ruins the balance. The damage of everything is higher to make the game more fast paced and reward skill instead of making your char a meatshield.

 

I think it compliments SL Survival nicely by restricting rewards so you won't get rich easily, and just making life harder in general. It has made my game a lot more interesting. Just saying.

So I installed DCL v9 release candidate after uninstalling DCL v9 b3.  I run Bodyslide to make sure I have everything built in case anything was new.  But when I select the Cursed Loot group filter, my Preset choice goes blank and the dropdown list is empty.  How do I use my presets with the Cursed Loot outfits?  Or is this question better suited to the Bodyslide support topic?

I looked into requiem a while back. First thing I saw was a YT vid of a slaugtherfish the size of a car jumping out of a lake and instakilling the player on the shore. Nope'd out of there pretty fast. I already have a phobia of underwater anything (that one flooded cavern with slaugtherfish west of Riften is a literal nightmare scenario), I don't need that horror in my game. :D 

Plus, it seemed pretty heavy mod that most likely wouldn't play nice with other mods.

From DCL 8.5 to DCL 9.0 no - need new game or clear save. From DCL 9.0 beta version - probably yes.

- Fixed: The MCM should no longer occasionally hang when starting a new game.
- Fixed: The Dawnstar carriage will now port any followers as well.
- Fixed: Leon: The player will once again receive all required restraints when activating the chest in the cell.
- Fixed: The Yoke of Shame no longer tries to trigger sex attacks, as there are no valid sex animations for this device.
- Fixed: Cursed Collar: Touching the cursed collar before finishing Bound Queen will no longer break the Bound Queen quest.
- Fixed: Saving the game in the Whip and Chain inn will no longer cause the engine to assign messed up save game names.
- Fixed: Added a check for SKEE in the rubber boots script.
- Fixed: Walk of Shame: Helpful NPCs will no longer remove the Dress of Shame when they have only generic restraints key. Doh!

 

And no, if you were using Beta 3, a new save game is NOT needed.

Can do both if you wish! Right now, DCL is unlocalized, but down the road I wouldn't mind adding translations to the main download. :)

Same. I really don't know what is going on any more, I used to have this problem way more often. I got a sorta fix for it by deactivating some really old LL mods, but every which way I try to get in there (legit, teleport, cheat-unlock the door), it doesnt seem to work, that Loading screen is never ending

I am so happy the new version is up that I can't wait to get home and play it.

 

Just want to mention a little thing though: @Kimy, the download page still points to the old DDA, DDI, DDE as requirements. It was true as long as the main version was 8.5, but now it can confuse new users XD

Nice.

Just finished setting up my new gaming rig. Already had a test drive with Skyrim on the new machine. Let me tell you, changing the specs from 2012 to 2021 does give a nice boost ;)

And now I can enjoy Skyrim with a brand new DCL version. Many thanks for that. Playing Skyrim with 3600Ghz is nice. Playing Skyrim with 4500Ghz even more. To bad it does only use that many cores as it did in 2011.

I'd suggest you to go to SE thread of this mod, as the conversion for SE normally requires some meshes adjustments besides the standard "optimize/resave" conversion steps.

I have upgraded to DD 5.1 just to try this out. Already I have had an issue with the alternate start/LAL addon when you arrive in Helgen and have to activate the burned corpse it doesn't activate so I had to bypass that by using Additem menu to get the adventurers journal. Now I am at the Chloe quest and she is stuck in the contraption after going through the dialog to get the key and free her. Any way to fix this?

I'm having the same problem as those people.

 

I tried that solution but now its a CTD every time I try to enter the inn instead of a infinite loading screen.

I recall once seeing an animation for breast yokes. I am pretty sure they were added with the animation for frontal cuffs.

However, I do also recall not getting animations in DCL beta 3

 

Is is possible that the animations got removed in some later patch of DD5 or that DCL doesn't acknowledge these animations (or maybe that they are all consensual). I am 99% sure I am not remembering wrong XD
