NightWolf says it is in the Reach. I've done quick tours through the nordic ruins of the Reach and haven't identified that location (although I swear it should be in Volskygge or Valthume). So it's not just you.

Grey Cloud Posted August 9, 2018 Posted August 9, 2018 Well, neither of them is where I was thinking. I knew I was wrong but the only place I could come up with was where you have to fill the basin thing with the vials and then sit on the throne until the ghost guy resurrects the lich. I'm still not playing Skyrim as I'm considering a makeover/re-jig/mod shake up or something. Suggestions welcome. Also considering doing a playthrough showing how Skyrim should be played (i.e. for laughs) using a character called Howlin' Wilf Sidebottom. Problem there would be where to host it.

That used to be one of the first places I'd hit when I started new game to learn the Aura Whisper shout. Until PSQ added a Detect Life/Dead ability that can be toggled. I really need to pay more attention when I'm powering through the dungeons with Word Walls. I didn't know Volskygge had a throne.

Well if Gery Cloud is correct (and he usually is) then it is not Valthume. Therefore, it must be Volskygge. EinarrTheRed Posted August 9, 2018 Posted August 9, 2018 Did you have a lil boo boo when you jumped down? This one shouldn't be too hard, its a memorable location... partly because that damn puzzle annoyed me (I don't play tanks / warriors as much so getting the lock took me a lil bit to figure out).

I died there the first time (didn't realize there were "steps"). I died in each of the next two rooms the first time I did them too. ?⚕️
EinarrTheRed Posted August 9, 2018 Posted August 9, 2018 Whirlwind sprint is your friend ? (Become Ethereal is also handy an one of my favs for all sorts of things, like base jumping off the top of High Hrothgar to get back to Whiterun quickly without fast traveling! LOL) Also, Lydia really appreciates it if you tell her to wait while you go pull the chain... that heavy armor ain't all that thick as it turns out.

I use what I call the Kimy Express to jump down from High Hrothgar, DCL combat surrender makes the pc essential and as you're not in combat you get a free ride 1

If I can't find a switch to just turn them off, of course. I've used all sorts of ways to deal with heights. Currently I'm using Real Flying. So not only do I not plunge to my death I can actually use the height as an advantage for making progress. Yeah, I had to: 1) find a spoiler to explain how it was done and 2) learn how to do "lateral" power attacks. I'm just glad I didn't have to try to figure out how to do the backwards ones. Slorm, while I've got you here. Kuroyami-san finally identified your picture from last April. His post is 4566 on this thread. Can you confirm his ID (if you still remember)?

The Lemming confirmed that it was not Valthume, if you do not want the credit I will gladly give it to him. I apologize for the typographical error in transcribing your personal name (at least I got the surname correct). However, having done so, I'm not certain that it isn't a good "look" for you. Gery, short for Gerald, would have a certain aristocratic air. It would give you some je ne sais pas. Instead of being chased by packs of animals throughout Skyrim you could be followed by tailors and bankers galore. Think about it!

Gerald is a southern jessy's name. By all means laud the lemming, I had no idea of the location. My 'guess' I knew to be wrong and I couldn't remember the name of the place anyway. The post where I said you misread me etc was yet another I typed and then forgot to hit 'submit reply'.

Hmmm...that's becoming quite the pattern. They say that after a certain age people begin to forget things. First, simple things like names. Later it becomes simple tasks like hitting submit reply or turning off the stove or where in Skyrim they left their various supplies. Maybe there's a potion for that? Now, now, Gerald Ford was the 38th President of the United States. He served before that for 25 years as a Representative from Michigan (you, know, abutting Canada). I suspect that he wouldn't take kindly to be called a southerner or a jessy. Finally, I was just trying to be helpful. Oh well, I guess it's true that "the road to hell is paved with good intentions." And the road to Oblivion has been paved with many an NPCs bones.

I was born with a flaky memory and regularly forget names, words, what I did not five seconds earlier, and even to breathe (central sleep apnea). If it's this bad when I'm already taking vitamins and even melatonin, I hate to think what it'll be like when I'm older. My ? is trying to kill me! Right now I can't even remember the name of the dungeon with those steps.

Right now I can't even remember the name of the dungeon with those steps. Well, you find it when looking for the skeleton that is barely visible at the bottom of said steps. For some reason, going past the locked gate miraculously enables all of the ebony ore nodes you walked past to get down there and does not open up new ones in a new branch of the mine. I guess the AI pathing devs were lazy and didn't want to create new pathways?
karlpaws Posted August 10, 2018 Posted August 10, 2018 On a separate note, I have a jumping mod instead of a flying one, so I can hit the spacebar half a second from impact and only fall 4 feet ( ~ 1.1 meters for the English American challenged ) unless I lag just enough at just the right time. Then my death prevention mod kicks in ....
Psalam Posted August 10, 2018 Posted August 10, 2018 Okay. I think we can consider my last one solved (that is the room at the end of Raven Rock Ebony mine). The mostly obscured door leads to a hall with swinging axe traps and then to the room with Zahrikoss and a Word Wall. Black book in the alcove after that. Here's a two parter from my recent meanderings: 1) What is the named structure in the distance (top center)? 2) At what named location must I be to have taken this picture? (Bonus points for correct spelling on this one) 1

The reason it is "One of the very few pieces of good advice to be found in either the OT or the NT" is that it is not in the Bible. Wikipedia seems to think it's from St. Bernard of Clairvaux. Anyway, many people think that any "old saying" is the same thing as being found in the Bible. Yes, that was the media take on the man. For historic accuracy you would find that he was the most athletic of all presidents (at least among those where there is good documentation). Ouch. You know this website could afford to have a down button at the top of the page the way it has an up bottom at the bottom. That way when I accidentally hit the up bottom (a common occurrence at work on my laptop) then I would be able to get back without as much problem.
