Now even MORE content is vanishing from Nexus

I've been saving mods that I use from nexus just in case they all disappear. I see some creators are removing their mods from nexus and it just isn't from skyrim page either. I play Mass Effect and so far one of the mod creators completely removed their mods from nexus and can't be found anymore.

Of course we can complain and say we're never using Nexus again.

But admittedly how to resist the urge when almost everything you like is there and nowhere else?

Just say "screw modding" and play vanilla? And deal with the game breaking bugs that those mods can fix?

Robbin Scott has the world by the balls and he knows it.

Much like Denuvo and other DRM and MTX, we can't complain about something while rewarding it because money is all they care about, not feelings.

We have the power to make a change. Support LL, ModDB and other sites to add some comepetition to the scene and wake up Nexus from their arrogance. Worked with supporting AMD vs NVIDIA and Intel didn't it?

Ramble over, good night.

Gaming will deteriorate to the point where modding is no longer popular and then it all goes away. Beth games and older versions of GTA games are the big holdouts among some others like arma 3 and all those recent racing games but eventually it will just stop. Nobody has hobbies during really bad times and our govts around the world have been very busy arranging those bad times for almost two years now.

There are three people whom post here regularly literally living off of this policy.

Not counting all the sims4-"creators" of course.

Not even commenting on that one.

For me the most saddest thing about all this is regarding those detailed bug reports that we thankfully find so easily on Nexus, but are very hard to find on Discord, or on any other mod site. Its very tempting to install mods like Age of airships that add so brilliant roleplay options, yet, because of that bug section, i decided not to install it or any such mod. Now my game is very fast and stable(i can even run N fight around the combat zones of Boston easily without installing any specific fix).

All thanks to that beginner friendly bug section on Nexus that helps us newbies to easily build a stable load order. That's why the current situation truly is unfortunate.

Ugh.

The only thing those kind of people are "contributing" to modding is to make real creators stop doing content or start registering their work.

As usual, the only ones profiting from these kind of situations will be lawyers.

What a mess...

Well, They should've thought twice before setting up the Nexus servers inside the ring of the Large Hadron Collider.

People thought that only death and taxes were always certain, but the most important rule, for all time, for all mankind, and takes precedence over ever other rule commandment, dictate, policy, and moral:

1. Lawyers get paid.

2. Everyone will die (but won't be buried until rule one is met)

3. Everyone will pay taxes (though you can use rule 1 to pay your "taxes", then they are called lawyers fees)

4.  All other rules, regulations, guides, directions, commands, etc.

A doctor and a lawyer were talking at a party. Their conversation was constantly interrupted by people describing their ailments and asking the doctor for free medical advice.

After an hour of this, the exasperated doctor asked the lawyer: “What do you do to stop people from asking you for legal advice when you’re out of the office?”

“I give it to them,” replied the lawyer, “and then I send them a bill.”

The doctor was shocked, but agreed to give it a try. The next day, still feeling slightly guilty, the doctor prepared the bills. When he went to place them in his mailbox, he found a bill from the lawyer.

Wait till the dummies finally understand what a war on carbon really means.

Me too.

I wonder what criteria they use to decide who gets the message. I've downloaded tons of Skyrim mods over the last 5 years so it is unlikely that I require a modpack Collection.  Maybe just non-Premium users - 'this Collection will take 5 minutes to download with our Premium service' versus 'this Collection will take hours at cheapskate speed'.

As long as our available bandwith is comparable to the 1960's apollo spaceships near the moon, I will hardly be bothered at all. :classic_laugh:

Patreon was way more damaging to modding than CC.

What can I say? If that happened to me, I'd just stopped doing mods altogether.

Don't feel like making someone else rich with my effort.

Well, i have seen some modder make a killing with Patreon. So i have to guess profits are great but the idea of sharing mods to the community gets kind of lost.

For me, games deteriorated to a point it is not fun anymore to play them. None of the new games sparks my interest. They all have the same washed-out colors, low-contrast filters, uninteresting themes, and androgynous bodies. It causes me boredom only by looking at the screenshots for these new games, imagine playing them. I feel sorry for the new generations, they didn't experienced the glorious days.

Now, games deteriorate first, modding can live longer, but it is dying off already. Fortunatelly we, mod authors, can refurbish old content from the LE section in the Nexus, to meet a different purpose. We just don't publish it, because the scene have become too hostile to creativity.

Well that's great news then, you can not post about it, ever; especially the part where you not only incorrectly stated what constrast filters do, but then doubled down that the second strongest color pairing on planet earth is the opposite of what it actually is.

Of course I can. Just the other day I was talking in another forum about how good UE5 looked like for architectural applications. But then, devs just spoiled it when making a game simulation on it, applying chromatic aberration and low contrast everywhere. And worse, they don't even put the option to turn these effects off, they are just enforced on the players. Fortunatelly we have modding for the old games, and can tune the graphics to our personal preferences.

Does anyone know where Flashy's mods (FO4) went? I only noticed that they are not anymore on Nexus but with no disclaimer to where.

Thanks
