Thank you very much for taking the time to look into this. Much appreciated! In the meantime I have also noticed that Lydia lost the dialogue options from iAFT and "lost" her horse, which at one point were both working perfectly fine. My troubleshooting with moving around mods and changing settings may have "damaged" her beyond repair... I think it is best I ditched her as DF and look for another one. Are there any recommendations regarding a "good" devious follower? Preferably female ?

Only you can truly choose which NPCs would be appropriate for your playthrough, based on your own role-playing perspective. Here are some ideas... Jenassa is a mercenary. It is easy to imagine why a mercenary might want to take advantage of an adventurer and try to get as much gold from them as possible. Uthgerd is a very strong and dominant Nord woman, as she describes herself. It is easy to imagine how she might want to dominate someone else. If you brawled with her and embarrassed her, she might want to get back at you by humiliating you. Edited June 30, 2021 by Herowynne

valeforgery Posted July 1, 2021 Posted July 1, 2021 Can I get some information on how the block on dismissal of regular non-devious followers while having a DF is set up? (I'm on SE.) At the moment, the only way I can dismiss a non-devious follower is to dismiss my devious follower first, wait for the next follower to become devious, and then dismiss them and re-hire the original DF that I want to keep. If I have multiple non-devious followers, I have to dismiss all my followers one by one if the one I want to get rid of is at the end of the list, and wait for each one to become devious as I go. Pausing DFC through the debug menu still doesn't allow me to dismiss non-devious followers. The only one I was able to dismiss was a follower from a quest mod who had her own unique dismissal topic rather than the standard one. Is it possible to make it so that using the "[Clear debt - follower will be dismissable]" option on my DF will let me dismiss other followers as well? Is that supposed to be the case now and something's not working in my setup? As I mentioned, I'm on SE, and I'm also using Nether's Follower Framework. I've tried dismissing followers from the base game as well as mod-added followers, and any that use the usual vanilla dismissal topic will say their "cool, I'm going home" line and then keep following me, with the same "It's time to part ways" dialogue option still selectable in their menu. I haven't tried moving followers around in the NFF slot list (so, putting the follower I want to dismiss at the top of the list, dismissing my DF, letting the follower I want to dismiss become devious, re-hiring the DF, moving them up in the list, then dismissing the unwanted follower) but while that might work, it's still a lot of futzing around and I haven't had time to check it yet. It would also be nice to be able to dismiss non-devious followers while still in debt, maybe by having to make another deal with the DF (because "if I'm going to be doing the work of two people, you've got to make it worth my while" or something along those lines), but my main concern is whether I can dismiss non-DFs at all without having to cycle through followers.

I don't know the reason behind the non-ability to dismiss other followers, but that's no fault of your game, it's annoying but intended. With NFF you can use the "purge follower" in the MCMs System page Spoiler

jfraser Posted July 2, 2021 Posted July 2, 2021 hey, lupine. love this, as always. any chance you could toss in a toggle to make the devious followers killable? works well with Sexlab Survival if my escort dies on me and i end up in a civilized area without him. especially if i'm low on cash and can't afford to hire another.
BYJE137 Posted July 3, 2021 Posted July 3, 2021 I've used the mod forever but only recently tried out playing with the gold control option enabled. So a question regarding gold control: Are you supposed to get released from gold control once you obtain the required credit as specified in the MCM and you've slept and the follower evaluates, or might you be kept in gold control even though you have the required credit and you've just slept (for a sufficient amount of time)? Is there randomness involved as well, so that you might be kept in gold control even though you have the required credit? I just woke up after sleeping, I have a credit of 3k and in the MCM the credit required to leave is 800. The follower refuses to stop controlling my gold. Should I be worried about something having gone wrong, or is this normal behavior on the part of the mod?

You've done nothing wrong, otherr than being silly enough allowing your follower to control your gold. What were you thinking?!? Your follower likes to control you, and even if you meet the requirements to get released, they might say "no!" because they can. 3
Anunya Posted July 3, 2021 Posted July 3, 2021 Yeah, there's an X percentage chance that they'll say no (though I think you can turn it off in the MCM). 1
Crota Posted July 3, 2021 Posted July 3, 2021 Might be a problem specific for me. Whenever I get a few deals and it starts with nipple piercings and then the follower asks you to wear one on your pussy to have a matching set or whatever they never give me the vaginal piercing and do not add upgrade the deal list. Also, every time I try to ask for a new deal from that point they are stuck asking about the vaginal piercing one still.

It would be difficult at this point, as it comes from the _DFMaster alias. Lozeak was asked to do this many times, and felt that it made things way too easy. You could get out of debt simply by getting your follower killed. I think the debt could live on, even if the follower is dead. I can see a way to implement this without having to rewrite half the mod to do it, but it would still be a fair bit of effort, and likely introduce a bunch of new bugs before it got worked out... Because it would involve activities related to hiring and dismissing of the DF, which is a difficult and somewhat brittle area, not least because of the support for multiple follower frameworks. I guess if I was ever making a DFC successor, I'd support it, but for now, it's just a lot of trouble. One way a mod that really wants to make DFs killable could work is to patch the DFC alias so it's not Essential. Then, it's up to people if they want to put in that patch, and it's not my problem. 2

They should be dismissible if explicitly excluded from DFC. If they are eligible to be a DF, then they shouldn't be dismissible. While I would like to do a lot more to support a group of followers, with all the follower integrations, it's probably too much pain.

Thanks. I sort of assumed it wasn't just an unconditional auto-release because it would be very much in the spirit of the mod to perhaps add a requirement or some randomness as well, but I just wanted to make sure I didn't have a borked save. And the gold control feature is actually really cool. 1

Yes, that would be very nice. I've said before that I'd love to have some real interaction between my Devious Follower and Lola's Mistress. Or something wiht either the whore or the slut deal, that your DF is aware of the arousal of your other follower(s) and asks you to service them. But as I'm no modder I cannot imagine how much work that would be. A nice detail that I've noticed: I was asked to wear a clitoral piercing, and my DF was aware that I was wearing a chstity belt at that time and suspended that rule until I got rid of the belt. The punishment came instantly afterwards, because in the meantime I had forgotten about that deal.

Go back a couple pages to my post with a new Device Settings .json. I get the piercings and the deal progresses and is counted properly in my game. EDIT: Forgot to suggest saving before replacing the .json, quit game, load after replacing, make another save. If you run into problems you might need to clear your debt by paying off your follower or using the debug menu option. It's always a good idea to save before making changes, the rest is probably just overkill on my part. Edited July 4, 2021 by Seeker999 quick suggestion
Bane Master Posted July 4, 2021 Posted July 4, 2021 (edited) Quick question please. In my current playthrough my character was enslaved from Simple Slavery directly without having had any other DF first. At present the only dialogues the master will give are "What Rules" and "What should I be wearing" - previously when enslaved I seem to remember also having the "I'd like to pay you dialogue" but this isn't available so I'm not sure how any debt could be paid and slavery ended. Is this by design or is something broken in my game? <Edit> So by messing around with gold I can see that you now get a dialogue to buy out for the whole amount so I assume this is a new way of doing things ? One other question though - I'm, using SLS and don't have any licences - slavery seems to block the start Licence help dialogue is there any work around for this? Edited July 4, 2021 by Bane Master

If you are in Gold Control, you can check the MCM box for Forced License management. If you are not in Gold Control, you need to have willpower >= 5 in order to get the dialogue to ask your follower to manage licenses. The workaround when you are not in Gold Control, and you have low willpower, is to use the console to temporarily raise your willpower, ask your follower to manage licenses, and then use the console to lower your willpower back to what it was. set _DWill to 6 1
Anunya Posted July 6, 2021 Posted July 6, 2021 (edited) Another post of Anunya going "you know what ELSE I think would be cool"? Here's a gameplay experience I would like to have with DFC: I would like to add a follower and not know if they're devious or not until after a little while of playing with them. Or maybe take on a follower (or two or however many), and have them not be devious until some sort of event creates a random chance that they turn devious. Right now in DFC, you can enable/disable a potential follower as devious or not. It would be really cool if you could designate them as "maybe devious" and there'd be a random chance they'd turn devious in X days if they're still in your service/ an X% chance they'd turn devious checked each 24 hours. I know it's pretty niche, I know that Lupine00 has limited time and probably has other priorities... so if it's not to be, no worries ... which that leads me to my next - more general - question: does anyone know of any mod or function where you can set a chance for a text string to be displayed on a daily basis? Because if I could set a 1 in 6 chance daily for the text string "It turns our your follower is devious..." then I could debug implement the change, which would still be superior to reying purely on RP. Then a guard accosts you, accuses you of being a slave, and follows you around until you recruit a devious follower. Perhaps the idea from @CaptainJ03 could be implemented as additional conditions to trigger DFC's Forced Start.

Perhaps the idea from @CaptainJ03 could be implemented as additional conditions to trigger DFC's Forced Start. I wouldn't call that my idea, it just came nicely along with @Anunya 's post. I wasn't even thinking about a forced start, but more some in-game mechanics instead of the "klick me" start that a normal follower gets. Thinking that forced start idea further, when you happen to have no follower, have low willpower and are wearing bondage stuff, then one of the hirelings (or Uthgerd, or Erik the Slayer...) would spot you and decide on their own, that you need a follower. One that takes care of the needs (and keys) of such a beautiful, helpless damsel. ? Ooooh, I would like that!
