It really boils my butt when people trundle in here with a high-and-mighty attitude concerning negative discussions about Nexus.  It is almost like everything said is just made-up, none of it is true, Nexus and the staff there are awesome.  Ironic that people can come here and bash the bashers YET they do not dare post anything of the sort at Nexus.  Downloaded a mod that does not do what it says it does?  Better keep your mouth shut.  Don't agree with a staff member and you dare to ask an honest question in a reasonable manner?  Well, you're questioning how they do their phoney-baloney jobs and you get banned for it.  And Nexus is the shining light...un huh...yeah.

Funny that people want to shake the Nexus pom-poms for a staff that bans willy-nilly and then gloats about it.  Funny that somehow people are convinced they hold the moral high ground YET they defend the institutionalized trolling done by the Nexus staff, and then come here to tell US how 'wrong we are'.  Try telling the Nexus staff how wrong they are.  You'll be another topic in their banned thread.  And when they are done with their clever posts they can go to the chat and gloat about it.

 

Go to Nexus, look at their remarks in their hall of shame and then come back here a point fingers, knowing that the Nexus staff does far worse on a daily basis and they have been at it since around 2008.

This thread started out with a cartoon posted by a member who had been Nexbanned for that very cartoon. It very quickly became, and continues to be, a thread in which posters share ban hammer horror stories.

The title of the thread is "Banned from Nexus".

It is true that some posters have been more than a bit coarse in expressing views on the subject; but, this spot provides an focused outlet for that.

Keeps the dog going on the paper, instead of the whole house.

There are not only hate reasons for avoiding the Nexus, at least when it comes to posting in their forums and such.

 

I called a Blender import export tutorial which was written by someone who is also a member here useless. That someone reported me and I got a formal warning with a 7-day-ban from Thandal. For calling a thing - not a person - useless.

 

It is beneath me to watch my words so meticulously and waste my precious time and energy for smooth talk every time I want to post something. And I don't want to be at the mercy neither of the staff over there nor of whining modder sissies who cannot deal with trivialities like the word "useless". By golly, I had to take much more serious things in my years in forums. Grow some balls. Want to call my mod "useless"? Do so, just go on.

 

That's not hate on my side. Contempt and disgust, followed by indifference, yes, but not hate. I don't want to be a part of a community where noone ever is free to speak his mind without getting the boot. That's all. I find it odious not to be able to communicate freely. As soon as LL goes the same way, I'll be leaving here as well. There's enough censorship and lies in the general media and the propaganda machine in our telescreens, which I abolished in my life totally. I don't need that in forums where there is literally nothing to censor because IT'S ABOUT GAMES.

 

Hate, by the way, is a valid feeling, and as such can and should not be suppressed - or it drills its way to the surface some other way. The reason that dark feelings are being demonized is fucking christian faith having seeped in everyday culture. Just as it is in many aspects of everyday life. It is utterly repugnant and revolting.

Aggression is a power source. You just have to watch that it gives you more energy than it takes. But that is up to the individual.

OK, I'll try this again without a veiled insult so it doesn't get removed again!

 

I can honestly say that I am better than the clown moderators on Nexus. At least a better and more fair moderator. I've proven it over the course of several years as a moderator on a site that gets at least 10X the traffic the Nexus gets (and a couple years on a smaller one as well). I never became a banhammer-wielding, power drunk jerk to people just because I could.

 

So which Nexus moderator are you?

I believe this issue will resolve itself in something like 6-8 years by which time most of them (nexus moderators) would be allowed to vote. 

I'm not saying this has anything with the right to vote or anything, but by then some of them might achieve the maturity attributed to adulthood. or not. We can only hope they will. At least the early-puberty hormonal instabilities they are experiencing now will have subsided by then.

I'm not criticizing anyone's opinion, here, I'm just curious because I usually stay away from the chatrooms and from crazy modders' comment sections. I do agree with this place on two things, that place is like Nazi Germany, you can't talk too much or too bad about something without the Gestapo noticing. Second, is that a lot of mod users are lazy, whiny and rude. Most people over there do not care to learn how to do things by themselves and blame authors for stupid crap that could easily be fixed if they cared enough to learn about GECK, CK, TES5Edit and FNVEdit. 

 

As for whiners, that's the worst of it, everybody wants x things for their mods and if they're not there people treat as if it were a crime that whatever mod author didn't choose to add it in or whatever. This goes hand in hand with the apparent laziness, that the general populace seems to be so fond of. 

 

Still, is it really that bad? I've never had those feelings about that place to be honest. The premium membership is a little dumb, $80 just for supporters images and higher speeds, not really worth it, seems like a scam to me. NMM does suck though, can't think much of a mod manager that has been in beta ever since it was released, much less when it is outgunned by an older program like FOMM.

1) Users are routinely banned over trivial matters that, at best, might have warrented a mild warning rather than a ban.

 

2) Mod authors get banned just as easilly aswell, resulting in great mods vanishing into the ether never to be seen or played again, just because some moderator felt the author didn't "respect ma authoritah!" [/Cartman voice].

 

3) The site seems rather poorly run, with constant downtimes and frequent security breaches. 

 

4) The site even managed to ban an entire country just to spite a single user.

'Bad' is subjective.  If you've been on the receiving end of the staff's bullshit, them KNOWING they are wrong and inisting they are right, them playing obvious favorites like shitty school teachers do, them calling people bold-face liars when in fact THEY are the ones lying, etc.  Being on the recieving end of their stupidity or seeing someone you know suffer through it is enough to change your perspective.  If it is happening to people you don't know, it is still BAD, but you don't care so much...shit happening to strangers, etc.

 

I was a member there since 2006 and in that 8 year span I have seen the quality of the staff go from decent and honest people to what-the-fuck they have going on now.  The beginning of the end was back around 2008 when Myrmaad and Linspuppy joined the staff.  Things went to shit once those two Neo-Liberal old fucking bags were given free reign to decide peoples' forum fates.  They never should have been on the staff and what you see there now is a direct result of their intolerant neo-leftist-fascist-fucktard attitudes infecting the rest of the staff.

 

The final straw for me was the way they pick and chose what is 'right and wrong' without consideration for other people or little things like THE TRUTH.  I got fed up with them and just let go one day.  I didn't care anymore.  I talked to them the way they talk to other people and I was banned and called a liar for it.  I have TWO regrets about Nexus: (1) people are still using my content to generate pop-up clicks for Dark0ne's gerbil wheel add money. (2) I didn't CUSS them like the sorry cum-drunk cock-suckers they are.  I WISH I had.
