Yeah, you can go back and look at the stupid comments if you want.

Two more clicks, it's amazing how lazy people can be.

What could be so important that they can't spare two clicks, it's all they do anyway.

Click click click.
It took more effort to complain about it than it takes to actually use it.

It's a solid argument in favor of those who believe the younger generations are ruined by instant gratification.

"Two more clicks? What the fuck is this shit? I want my mod nooooooooowwww!"

Guest Omega1084

Yep, that's basically the gist of it.
An entire shitstorm based around adding ONE click.

And that ONE click was added because they were too fucking stupid to read instructions and mod descriptions in the first place!

People complained about that? I just noticed it and it's actually one of the things I think improves the site. I'm absentminded so that little reminder has saved me a lot of time lately.

i am one who complained when oblivion nexus was filled by mod like that.... i was not complaining by the mods per se but for the lack of a filter...

I mean.... i don't like this stuff... i tend to keep skyrim lore friendly as possible i respect who don't

but when you search a lore friendly or a realistic looking armor

and you got like 70 pages of schoolgirl outfit and things like that

You feel the lack of a filtering search

I never was a huge fan of 'modern' outfits in swords and spells games myself.  I tend to avoid mods that just clash with a game's concept.  MOST of the stuff I make for myself blends in to the game and I rarely 'do' skimpy, even though that what I'm known for.  Anyway, when I mentioned Japanese modders, I meant the popularity they brought to EyeCandy and the HGEC bodies for Oblivion, not all of the import weirdness (mages university students wearing school uniforms, etc.)  Though HAWT, that's incredibly silly.

We weren't talking about the anime and skimpy and awful armor mods that time.

We understand those can get really annoying.

We were talking about the new feature mod authors can use to tell a downloader when a mod is required for theirs to work.

There's a little pop-up that says "This mod requires SKSE" or something similar.

Trust me, as much as I like to go outside lore sometimes the amount of shitty boob-increasing, bad-retexturing, terrible mods out there pisses me off too. Sometimes you just want a simple sword mod, something new but still within the lines of reason and all you can see is tits and ENBs with stupid names.

Edit: The sad thing is there is never and never will be any way that they will reason with you.

They are always right and you are always wrong.

Like when they banned me after my friend made an account at my house.

i showed him the site than few hours later they banned me

it didnt help they showed me ip address records. and he got on at A DIFFERENT IP ADDRESS SAME TIME MY ACCOUNT WAS ON MY IP ADDRESS

and i was like dude thats obviously enough proof right there

than they tried saying my 2 year account is the "NEW" account. and the 12 hour old account is the older one.

@Omega1084

That right there is the funniest shit I've read in a long while, It actually reminds me of all these stupid reality shows that supposedly have all this swearing and truth be known "THEY DON"T SWEAR" it's as fake as the show itself.

But I wasn't planing to derail the thread I just had to mention your SIG, it's funny as hell.

I didn't even realize the Nexus was like that until a couple hours ago. I just started modding about a year ago and never even went into chat or forums until a month ago.

This blew my freaking mind.

I had just entered chat and someone started spamming a bunch of links to various mods. Another user told him to stop spamming links, so DrGrimm the moderator reminded the user he is NOT a moderator and needs to stop acting like one.

I found that to be ridiculous so I mentioned that was silly for him to get yelled at, the guy did need to stop spamming links. Another user named Jann something told me to be careful how I talk to moderators, and I responded saying I wasn't being disrespectful or breaking rules, but that WAS silly.

BAM. Banned. So I PMed DrGrimm and he tells me it wasn't him, take it up with the mod who banned me. This was our PM string before I was IP perma banned:

Me:

After messaging with DrGrimm I'm discovering it was you that made the decision I had broken the rules enough to be banned. This is what I messaged him initially, and now what I'm
forwarding what should have been for you:

I was banned, literally for no reason at all. I have followed the guidelines and rules as stated. You and I both know that was not justified at all. Please remove my ban. I actually enjoy this community and have appreciation for the community that has helped me through a lot of difficult situations.I think this is silly. You are a moderator and staff member. You
are supposed to enforce the rules and guidelines as part of your duties. That is not what happened here.

Him:

You have a problem with the way I am moderating then take it
up with the admins.

Me:

I'm taking it up with you like a normal human being would take
a problem up with anyone who made a decision like that against
them.
I didn't make a stink about how you're conducting your ability
to moderate. I was, wrongly and unjustifiably removed though. I
think this is silly. This is literally the first bad experience I've
ever had with this community and I find it shocking.

That was it. Banned for "Harrassing Staff via PM". Almost no words for how pissed off I was after that. I would have emptied my bank account to knock that moderator the fuck out.

Anyway, that led me to this site so, hello everyone! Thought I would share my ban story.

Welcome to LL

Just reset your IP and create a new acc for downloading mods. Don't waste your time chatting or using the forums there. If you feel generous, type a few complement words to the mod auther in his mod page comment. Keep things minimal. That's what most do. And it's sad because they are ruining the whole purpose of a community. It's like K2 said, the moderators are on a power trip.  Just trying to be the authority of the internet. I'm certain they are gonig to get their asses handed to them because of the stuff they pull. It's only a matter of time. Sad thing is most of those people from Nexus are gonna scatter all over the place like ants. A grip of good mods are going to be lost. And it's funny because they are just doing us a favor by sending us their people.

You know I wouldn't doubt that Robin has an account here and snoops in from time to time. Or any Nexus moderator. It's ironic how they enforce copyright but there was a good amount of them with VGU accounts.  Wasn't sure who but I did remember some moderators from the old VGU mention some had accounts there to so and so and to watch what they say about nexus.

Welcome to LL.

According to "Wall of Shame" on Nexus, it was micalov that gave you the formal warning (7-chat ban), but it was DrGrimm that did that full ban for arguing about it.  Seems they can't get there own story straight over there...  Like others have said, never use the chat there.  I know if I went into the chat room once, I'd be perma-banned for life ;) .  The only thing I would have suggested is to appeal the ban directly to Dark One (if possible) and let him decide.  I have seen him overrule bans.  However, since you created a second account, they now have the ammo to reject the appeal based on that alone (multiple accounts).  Love the Catch-22 over there...

I seriously doubt it.  The only one that can do that is Lord Darken the Ham-fisted (Dark One), and he sure as hell won't since he is the one that gave the inmates carte blanche to run the asylum.  Apparently, they are enforcing his rules to his specifications, so I doubt we will ever see a change unless he hires some ego-less moderators over there than can change the culture from the inside.  But then, Lord Darken is the one hiring, so I doubt that will happen either.  Maybe if LDtHF comes here often enough, he will see how if could be done and have a change of

I wonder if they're playing a game where whoever racks the most bans and suspensions will be given a bonus for a week. Sure, they can claim to be volunteers who're doing it for no pay, but secretly these Gestapo will still be paid to shoot anyone in the head for even the smallest infraction.

I never was a huge fan of 'modern' outfits in swords and spells games myself.  I tend to avoid mods that just clash with a game's concept.

Playing Skyrim wouldn't be fun without such "colorful" mods that add variety -- it's like junk food, all the forbidden grease and cholesterol and sugar stuffed into it. Makes the game damn sight better than a gazillion cookie-cutter H-games that get used one-time like a worn-out condom.

So I enjoy choices: I can have my character go strictly lore, head to toe, or I let her wear an anachronistic pair of jeans and jacket.

What I'd rather avoid are "god items".

Pull up a seat and stay a while. You won't find moderators here acting childish like that. And this community is far, far better than Nexus anyway. The people (and moderators) here are more mature, more helpful, more talented, more artistic and WAY more friendly.

The more this thread grows the more I think maybe I should have my Nexus account cancelled.  I don't think I should be affiliated with people who are obviously to childish and irresponsible to handle the moderating powers the Nexus gives them.  The only thing stopping me is I just find NMM so damn convenient.

We should band to together and create our own mod manager with about as much utility (perhaps more; organizational mod builder, better sorting and built in ini filter/builder) as NMM.  If the LoversLab can do that I can finally uninstall NMM and leave that site before something really bad happens.  I avoid the forums and chat for that reason but it's like being in the middle of an ocean with 150mm going off all around you; sooner or later you're gonna get hit because some moderator decided to be a dick.

Don't quit, just leech.  The only thing I do over there other than download mods and make a couple of "uze the bestest" comments on couple of mods is I sometimes help fore out with comments on the FNIS page.  However, the shear user stupidity I see on those comments have made me not post at times for fear of hearing the whistle of the banhammer.  That's the secret to Nexus - "take, don't talk".  Follow that rule and you'll never have to worry about them again.  And if you use Firefox, you can use NoScript and AdBlockerPlus to block ads from them, so no money.  (Make sure that you whitelist LL when using those so that LL can get the ad money...)  As far as "creating our own NMM", there is no need.  Wrye Bash and Mod Organizer fill the bill quite nicely.

I'm pretty certain Mod Organized does all that you just described.

Only reason I'm still there is I like to help people fix bugs in their games, it seems everyone is too afraid/lazy to try and help those in need.

Hmm...kk sounds like a plan.  I hardly if ever post anymore anyways (had a little Fallout 3 diary like story going on but have given thought to just giving up on it because of my other commitments ((my book for example)) and time constraints) and I just download mods I find interesting.  Still makes me nervous though.

Actually, we have our own custom version of the Fallout Mod Manager, available here: http://www.loverslab.com/topic/17895-fomm-custom-build-0149/

Prideslayer hinted at the possibility to make it compatible with TES games eventually, so there is that. :D

Hmm...if he plans to add other games like TES and an interface like being able to choose between what game you own that would be sweet.  I'll definitely keep an eye on that.

SEE that's the kind of helpfulness that brought me here in the first place.  At first it was because I heard there were better race mods here but now I see there are also better people.
