Hang out at LoversLab instead of Nexus?

If I hanged out at the Nexus I'd get banned...

The Vampire Dante got banned.

http://forums.nexusmods.com/index.php?/topic/1176847-thevampiredante-banned/

Rather someone trying to impersonate him if that was the original intent.

Seems really stupid to impersonate someone who is even more stupid. But who is the bigger fool? The fool or those that follow him?

Greetings.

Well there is a little "mistake"in the title " TheVampireDante" and not "The Vampire Dante" ...

It' seems this  topic is very popular ...

Good evening.

Mistake?  No.  Intentional?  Yes.

It's meant to draw people's attention so that they click on the link only to find out the truth when they read the ban notice.

To say TVD made a few enemies is putting it lightly.

Yes, it is...XD

Greetings.

@ Kendo

I wanted to thank you personally for your "Atropa" mod. I have never had the opportunity to do so lest publish a comment that could be badly interpreted by somes.

English is not my native language so...

My boyfriend has long used the "Chew Toy"  face for his female  character, and it is true that it is very successful, very well done.

Good evening and do you wear well.

While I'm not banned on the Nexus, I have to all intents and purposes stopped posting there. Part of it is the tendency of the denizens there to jump on even the slightest criticism of a mod and blow it out of all proportion. The rest is detailed in this thread.

Well, in that respect at least Nexus can be given something of a pass - both Nexus and LL operate on the old mantra "if you've nothing nice to say don't say anything at all", but of course, Nexus' hypocrisy clouds that somewhat.

I must admit, however, that Nexus' tendency to crack down on trolls with an iron fist has occasionally brought a grin to my face.

If you break any rule from the Nexus Bible you are condoned to discipline from the Nexus with the ban whiplash. Kinky? Yes, but the staff are a bunch of virgins that can't even grip their own dicks. Let alone hold a leather rope. So instead they publicly post it as an announcement to gain a satisfaction as if they were having a squirt because they have no Idea how to stimulate themselves to have a real life orgasm.

You'll be lucky if you are given a warning.

I do not know where your obsession with the sexual experiences (or lack thereof) others might have had comes from, but it's weird, creepy and to be perfectly honest pretty stupid.

I tell you what, the moderators from the nexus simply don't care about the nexus users anymore. That was different a while ago, but the nexus became so freaking huge that they don't mind banning people left and right for sometimes petty reasons. You (or anyone else) as a nexus user are not important, you're just a number. And if you are a number that annoys the moderators or doesn't behave like they expect you to behave, you'll get removed. There are plenty of other numbers around. Their website, their rules. As destructive for the community these rules might be, it's their call.

Seems some of the Nexus staff has taken exception to my posts in this thread.  Just so we are clear on 'how it is supposed to work', they get to pontificate, goose-step around and hide behind yellow text.  They even get the last jab when they ban people (No way to respond to them so their oh-so-clever posts stand as the final word).  So why are they worried about our little corner of the internet and what goes on here?  I mean...seriously.  They are jolly green giants stalking Nexus with ban hammers to foist their bullshit opinions so why do they care what happens anywhere else?  Do they actually think they hold dominion over all of modding?

I also have to wonder how they know what is going on here since none of them are registered members...OH WAIT!  They aren't using the same names as they do on Nexus!  HOW CLEVER!  That way they can skulk about unnoticed.  To be honest, if I behaved the way the Nexus staff does I wouldn't show my face outside of those forums either.

@ Nexus Staff

You banned me.  I do not visit your forum.  I do not have a sock puppet account there.  I am not interested in anything you have and I'm certainly not interested in allowing my content to fuel Dark0ne's pop-up business.  Think about that the next time you're looking for the 35 pages of my content Dante deleted for NO REASON.

I'm going to give you some of your own advice: If you don't like what goes on in this thread, then DON'T READ IT.

I wonder if I should warn this guy he could be banned from nexus? They ban people for showing Skyrim armor in Oblivion since they'd say it's piracy, right?

Dragonbone armor in Oblivion:

http://oblivion.nexusmods.com/images/142085//?

Except that cannot be considered piracy. Porting back and forth is fine as long as you have legally acquired the files for it. Its only a problem when you upload those files (such as the various music ports). They support TTW content for example, as long as specific content is not uploaded.

Skywind and Morrowblivion are a different ball of wax as its crossing the line of ip and how grey ip law really is. I supported WB in shutting down MERP for example because its really going to far. When does artistic license become plagiarism?

@Kendo_2 If you ranted at the moderators anything like you have for the last 3 pages then its pretty obvious why they gave you the boot. Whether you are just pissy because you were kicked out of the very clique you are now in a personal war with, or because you actually took issue with how things were being handled its pretty clear that you (and seemingly most of the "adults" here) are acting more childish than you accuse them of being. At worst you should have said your piece and left instead of throwing a temper tantrum and getting thrown out. Being a part of that community (or this one!) is a privilege and not a right. I have seen very few of these so called "bad" calls made by Nexus moderators, and most of those that I would deem harsh was over alluding to piracy, which of all things to be touchy on I feel is ok. The reverse however is not true of the behavior shown here. If they do not want pics tagged as a "fuck doll" in open chat then that is their rule, you do not get the right to make them change it. You abide or leave. Throwing a fit and telling them to grow a pair is the very wrong response. You are not sticking it to the man, you are making yourself look like a giant douchebag. Being a prolific or popular modder does not, and should not, put you outside the rules.

I have been an administrator in a large community before--my ideal rule was with an iron fist, many people sadly, are stupid. However, in a modding community I would be more reluctant to ban modders that have submitted successful mods, for any reason. Because mods allow us to customize the game in a way we like, and let others enjoy or even improve on that. I feel mods should be shared with everyone, and even possibly everyone should be allowed to edit, and further modify them.

Nexus staff won't blink twice to ban anyone--even someone with successful mods, and thus causing some or many great mods being lost because of a poorly managed website that thinks a modding community deserves an iron fist. If you can't handle the children on the Internet then in all honesty, don't be a moderator. That's what I told as an administrator to anyone that was taken as a mod and I uphold this value to this very day.

I could criticize nexus all day, but, have I founded and managed more than one large community?

I haven't done that in a while, nor it was something as big as nexus, and it wasn't a modding community.

Compared to nexus, so far I am happy with Loverslab's moderation. However, the website itself allows more "mature" people to submit content and to discuss, so in a sense, the moderators behave in a way to reflect this more mature approach to keep the website clean, unlike Nexus.

This thread was created to tell of bannings or discuss bannings or even rant about bannings that go on at the nexus, it was not created as a place to insult other members for there rantings of ignorant nexus policies. or members opinions because they don't align with yours. If the nexus is so precious to you and you cannot stand the flaming of the nexus then don't read this thread, simple as that. But you will get nowhere putting down, slamming, calling out or otherwise name calling of other members just because you don't see eye to eye with there views and opinions. Don't like it, pass it by and go on with your day. Simple really.

At least here we don't get banned for the mere mention of Nexus, try mentioning Loverslab on the nexus and see what happens.

Except at this point you are not even talking and discussing, you are circle jerking telling each other that those guys are dumb heads on a power trip with retarded rules because you could not read nor follow them. There is a rather large difference between blowing off steam, or ranting, and attempting to form a lynch mob and tell yourselves that you are in the right. The Nexus is about as "precious" to me as this place is. They are places where I can pick up various skills and techniques, and generally improve my personal gaming experience, across a wide range of games. By the way, I have mentioned Loverslab on the Nexus, in fact I was so surprised when the link I used came back of "website not allowed" that I popped into chat to ask the chat mods about it, and we actually had a rather nice conversation, where they explained why, and I do not blame them. This site is rife with piracy, both of the game and of models. After thinking about it, I can understand their stance and why they hold it. And that is fine. I was asked to stop, and I did.

If the Nexus and its moderation staff are power hungry liars, only out to use modders as a way to generate cash, then where is the evidence? I have looked and found none. I have found threads like this one on multiple forums, all with the same regurgitated garbage about how rules are dumb and they got banned for no reason. Funnily enough when you look up their usernames it was for trolling, or being a douchebag, or piracy. You can choose to leave the community by choice. Look at Halo as a great example. Last I checked he was still welcome on the Nexus, even after he felt forced out. He did not rage, did not throw a temper tantrum. All is still kosher their, even if he does not host his files on that site. And several other modders are similar.

Don't mistake me, I understand perfectly well that anything I have to say will not stop you, it is rather hard afterall to admit when one is wrong, especially when they are so convinced they are perfectly in the right. This thread however has broached the point of absurdity. The sheer hypocrisy of thinking that this forum is somehow a bastion of maturity and goodness against the dark overlords that is Nexus needs to stop.

This site can't be mentioned over there because of the copyrighted content available here.  Why is that so hard for people to grasp? :D (And I'm saying this as somebody who can't stand that place)

They ban people on a regular basis for uploading IMAGES of content ported from one game to another.

You are not sticking it to the man, you are making yourself look like a giant douchebag.

Thanks.

You have no idea why I was banned. The entire exchange took place via PMs. All you know is what they want you to from reading a 'banned page'. But I know what happened, the staff knows what happened, and the friends I sent copies of the PMs to know what happened. These are the same friends who are being put in the middle by THE NEXUS STAFF behind the silly things I say here.

I was banned because I stood up to the Nexus Staff concerning the way they treat certain members of that so-called community. I did it in a private setting so as NOT to incite others. I stood up for myself and others and dared to question the staff. And for that I was banned for 'harassing them'. If that makes me a douche, then I'll wear your Scarlet Letter with pride.

Like I said, this is a thread about the bannings that go on at the nexus. Who the hell are you to say one way or the other what should or shouldn't be discussed here? Why is it such a big problem to YOU what others decide to discuss on this website? And just who are you to say ANYTHING needs to stop on this website? Do YOU own the Nexus? Are YOU a moderator at the Nexus? are you close friends of said parties? Why any discussion on this website should bother you to the point of trying to tell This website certain things need to stop is beyond any authority you may think you have. You do not own this website, you do not moderate this website. and the powers that be are the ONLY ones that will decide what does or doesn't get discussed here. Period. And the inability to mention LL on the Nexus has little to do with copyrighted material on this site, it has mostly to do with the type of content available here. but you can believe whatever the Nexus tells you if you like.

Did you understand what I wrote there?  Because the majority of your response has zero relevance to it :s

Could you point out the parts in those two sentences I wrote where I discuss what can and can't be said here or that certain things need to stop?

They ban all sites from mention that have an open door policy to copyright content regardless of sexual content.  Just deal with it.

I assume this is also true for the Nexus Staff?  Or does it only apply to us?

Funny in a sad and very ironic way, we're not allowed to voice our opinions on Nexus, and now (by your standard) we're not allowed to voice them here either.  I had no idea the arm of Nexus was so very VERY long.
