Banned from Nexus

Though I frequent Nexus for Skyrim mods, I never, ever, ever, go to their forums... They are childish, petty, infantile and elitist jerks...  You make one suggestion, or ask a simple question, you get trolled, put down, full out insulted (by admins and moderators too) and it's just not a cohesive, enjoyable experience to be on their forums...

 

I like it here, because everyone I have met has been kind, courteous and lots of fun, even if they disagree with me at times.. ;-)....

Well, in my case the jerk is me too.

I deserved the ban, nothing to say on that, but I didn't like the public insult by a moderator & Admin into my ban-screen (which I couldn't reply).

So I asked to remove my files to upload them on another webspace.

Here my motivations:

Anyway, when The Vampire Dante Admin banned me, I discovered some surprising things:

 

1) The Vampire Dante wrote me a public offense (“stupid, stupid man”) that I couldn’t reply;

2) Nexus wanted to still keep my mods on line, without giving me (as banned) the possibility to update them and supporting my users (a popular mod not supported and not updated for long time may create issues to his users);

3) I had only one shot to comunicate with Nexus Staff, where I had to apologize (maybe pray?) to be unbanned.

 

Well, dude, I have no problem to admit my faults, but I don’t like to pray a person (a “moderator” & “Administrator”) who insulted me to be (perhaps) unbanned.

Moreover, I don’t like to be part of a system that makes money with my (and thousand of other modder) creations (because Nexus is a commercial enterprise), that may instant banning me but keeping my work to make money on his own.

 

So…

 

1) I wrote to Nexus Staff (“The Vampire Dante” again) clearly admitting my faults.

2) I specified that I felt offended by the public insult embedded into the “personal note”

3) I asked the courtesy to Nexus Staff to delete my mods from Nexus, explaining that a popular mod without support may be dangerous for player saves with time passing.

 

But, knowing as the Community of Skyrim players loves and uses my creations, I decided to spend a lot of time to update and to reupload my mods into a new free web space where I may support and work on them again. Here: http://erkeilmods.altervista.org/

 

So Nexus has lost, FOR MY FAULT, this stuff:

 

“E.R.S.O.”

(5th mod of the Month March 2013 – about 1,400 endorsements – 100,000+ downloads)

“Enhanced Mighty Dragons”

(2nd mod of the Month April 2013 – about 1,800 endorsements – 90,000+ downloads)

“Enhanced Enemy AI

(1st mod of the Month June 2013 – about 2,100 endorsements – 110,000+ downloads)

“Lord of the Dead”

(about 400 endorsements and 30,000+ downloads)

“Skyrim NPC Overhaul”

(about 400 endorsements and 25,000+ downloads)

 

Moreover, Nexus has lost a (stupid, stupid) modder who has spent more than 4,000 hours between modding, replying to comments, supporting players and other modders on Nexus for about two years (from may 2011 to august 2013) and who was one of few enough known modders who gave to Nexus the full exclusivity for his works.

 

My mods are still life, and after a month of oblivion, now my players know where finding uploads and support to them.

 

All are happy.

 

Who hates Erkeil may tease, reproach and/or insult him and feeling good.

Who loves Nexus may tease, reproach and/or insult Erkeil and feeling good.

But who loves and/or uses Erkeil creations may still use them, being supported and helped… and feeling good too!

 

At the end, I’m more happy as free and less stressed indipendent modder than a no-payed and Skyrim addicted Nexus employee.

 

Yeah, stupid, stupid man.

Well, not only on their forums ... but you must be very carefull when you ask something in the "Comments" section of a topic....very , very carefull.

 

And like everywhere , there are  also some "Trolls "  ... and children , so that could be a good reason to be "restrictive".

 

Since 2008 i'm member of this sites , i have a first account some years ago , but i loose my password  and user name  , so a recreate a new account in 2008 .  ( i use +/- 10 computers, each in multi-boat  and multi accounts ... all  of these accounts has their own " name" and  password  so , sometimes, i'm in trouble to retreive one ... ).  Each times i create an account somewhere i use a new pasword too so ...

 

I was afraid about posting something  , I've been waiting for many years before i post my first  "comment"  .... very , very  carefully .

 

Maybe their politic is very  "restrictive" ,  not sure of that , to be " restrictive "  is sometime a good thing , but when you create there a account , there is also a rule you need to read first ... so you are warned , right ?

 

English is not my native language, so , sometimes i can misunderstand  some comments  , so don't let me be misunderstood  if i wrote  or "said"  something wrong.

About the proxy stuff

It's basicly you connect to a service which LOADS the page for you and than shows it to you
This is also how Tor works but with alot more so called nodes inbetween
IPbans can be easily evaded most of the times although some ban known proxy IPs and known Tor nodes

Not sure how spoofing works i never got it to work and it might just be scams

you don't even have to go as far as linking, all you need do is mention LoversLab, be it in a comment or in your mod discription. Any mention of LoversLab at all is grounds for banning in there realm.

I doubt xp32 will be the only or even the first or last to be banned/temp-banned from Nexus. I've often wished I could make Mods for Skyrim but sometimes I'm glad I can't (am learning tho) just for the simple fact that in doing so you risk even more the chance of being banned for nonsense. I think they hate the fact that we are able to speak freely here and they are unable to deal with that so there retaliation is to rule against any mention of LL. They know we're here, they've been here, they've read the threads and would rather turn a nose up just to make themselves feel better and try to justify that what they do as being right.

Well i didn't use the word "LoversLab"  i was just asking about a Skelleton used in one specific mod   and i asked if it was a variant of the Skeleton provided by the LAPF mod  ( and adds-on) .

 

The terms used were LL and LAPF , because i was not sure if i can or not speaking about a mod especially with "adult contents" ... ;°) .

 

SpeedBuster  ( i have a particular respect for this  imaginative modder, even if their bodies are not excatly what i use ), has some troubles for this ( with his first Bodycon mod, if i'm right)  , and there are no problem with a mod like Claudia Little Secret ... ( pardon Grumph , je n'ai rien contre ton mod ,  bien au contraire ...)   so sometimes i don't understand why a modder has problems and others not ... but , i prefer keeping my "mouth" closed ....

 

There are also  Private exchanges between an user and the staff and sometimes things go wrong after a rude private  exchange !

There was a really good mod posted at nexus recently made by a user Leito86 called akaviri remnants it was a follower mod with some custom armor and weapons looked like the user created everything not ripped it was too high poly and now it is gone! http://skyrim.nexusmods.com/mods/44242//? I managed to download it almost as soon as it was posted though. The file is over 100mb size and the armor looks great don't know why it was removed except some douche bag over there didn't like it or whatever. What happened to that mod? I notced the user is also registered here too.

They'd better stop hatin' on LL pretty quick. If you're an adult, you have every right to be here, and freedom of speech dictates that you can allow mods to be linked to LL, if they are also posted there. Mirrors are fine. Stupid Nexus! I guarantee moderators there have at least 3 mods from LL on their Skyrim. They're not fooling anyone! They must be under fire from someone pretty powerful, or they wouldn't have gone to such extremes to keep this site from ever being mentioned. I'll bet they don't filter out other site links. Stupid Nexus!

 

They have an adult section. So...........LL IS an adult section!! WTF is the difference!? They're gonna have to except the fact that a ton of their members are also members here.

 

There's nothing wrong with LL, Nexus! Everyone here is on each others friends list, and we get along wonderfully. Nexus feels like a court trial. If you post, you'll be under review by people who apparently have a banning quota, the same way police have an arrest quota. They have a great site, with tons of potential, but they have Nazi moderators. Say something that their opinions differ from, and you can kiss Nexus goodbye, even if you're a well-known and loved contributor, who did all they could to make Nexus what it is today.

 

 

 

Edit: When I said everyone's on each others friends list, I meant it. People can be themselves here, so other people can ssee what sort of person they are, and if they feel like they relate to that person, they can PM them, friend them, make a team with them if they want to make a mod together...these are things that you can't do on Nexus. You have to keep your words well chosen, limiting your ability to be you. If you disagree with someone here, you can even argue! Believe it or not, that's an important quality for a community to have. I've friended people over arguments before, and we get along great. Nexus could learn a thing or 2 from LL.

I don't know if he was banned at nexus but his description on profile page doesn't show anymore only his mods list page. The link you provided also has the nexus mod link on the page. I had already downloaded the mod myself but maybe that is why it was removed because it was posted at that other site first? Maybe nexus moderators monitor that page and remove anything reposted from there?

The problem with the Nexus is that they are fighting an unstoppable plague.  It's an army.  It's an absolutely catastrophic Armageddon-wielding army of TROLLS.  Here is what falls under the category of the evil trolls:

 

1.  People with strong opinions.  They're a threat.  Ban them.

2.  People who discuss topics I'm not comfortable with.  They're cyber-anarchists and will take down our community.  Ban them.

3.  People who bring criticism towards others.  There is only good in the world.  Ban them.

 

Here's the most illusive part of this gang of cyber-terrorists.  They don't exist.  The nexus family of sites got famous because the other mod sites either got unlucky or came after mods were polarized towards the Nexus.  You'd think they'd take this success and be as non-intrusive as they possibly could, but they've done the opposite.  They ban anything they like, Dark0ne justifies his lack of interest in policing his staff by bringing up anecdotal situations and slippery slope logical fallacies, and a huge chunk of the potential community the Nexus could've had is either IP banned, uninterested, or too intimidated to speak.

 

The censorship of mods, images, and chat has gotten so bad that the only people left participating in the community are either people who have something interesting and critical to say about some unique topic and will be banned momentarily, or masochistic pseudo-intellectuals talking about how their dog makes funny noises when they fart.  There is no interesting conversation; if it involves politics, religion, mods from other sites, anything that annoys the moderators (and that's a lot of things), suggestions, or, *gasp* CRITICISM! (which is another word for ANARCHY), you're gonna get banned.

 

It's the reason why the Nexus community comment threads, chat, and forums are filled with a bunch of self-loathing apologists.  They're the only ones left who think it's justified to ban someone for life from a service over minor disagreements.  The irony is that they, too, will likely be banned one day for saying "fuck" in chat.  Yes, because, believe it or not, the fear behind that is that there might be young teenagers in chat.  Because they never swear.  

 

They're living in a dream world.

Nexus image share is misleading. You can't post nudity, but it's totally okay to "almost" go overboard and post some chicks buns hanging out or her chest 95% revealing everything but her nipples.

 

1. I posted an image earlier this year on Nexus of my character. The background was a rock cave that on one side of her had a shape of a man's wang. I'm not entirely sure if it was intentional by the modder who created this, but when I took the screenshot and looked at it after, I noticed it by accident. I laughed about it and decided "what the heck... I'll post it to share it." So I posted it and flagged it as "adult" to cover my ass for one, and two... I figured it wouldn't break the rules since I've seen some images that go beyond of what I was about to post and would considerably be offensive. In the description part I typed "LOL... Mere coincidence? I think not..." Shortly after it got removed by a moderator. My point being. It was a rock... And now that I think about it. I don't think the author of the mod created it. He just added light to illuminate it to make it stand out. So it had to be mere coincidence.. For all I know it's probably Bethesda who made it. Or maybe a modders resource. We see objects all the time. Who the hell has not looked up at the clouds and pictured a certain object from the way the cloud was formed?

 

2. The problem is the staff and most online people. There are way too many sensitive souls roaming all over. Didn't they teach you to ignore people making fun of you? Or learn to fire back and take no BS from anyone? Nexus is teaching you how to be a snitcher, a.cry baby. Rat someone out. It's okay to be afraid, we'll protect you... These people are growing up in our society to become a soft heart that will never defend themselves in real life because they will run to the nearest real life moderator (cop) and never know how to defend themselves. Nexus messed up... They should of made the community 18+ where you are considered adult. You want to hang with the big boys? Sure, but If you can't handle it, step aside and go watch your my little bronies.

 

And here I thought the whole reason of being online, doing online stuff and talking to people online was to get away from real life...

 

One of the main reasons why I stay away from FNV Nexus is because all the bronies and willow companion fanbois out there. All britney spears and justin beiber fans have shifted over to the dark world and want to ruin the scene like they did with Hot Topic back in the days. These are the very same sensitive souls that turn a post-apocalyptic world into a ditsneyland... The very same people who want to play a post-apocalyptic game full of rainbows and sunny blue skies and pretend that it's a perfect world where everyone is fun and loving gay happy.

 

The sad thing is, Nexus and Bethesda eat this shit up. And Bethesda would probably go out there way to make a NV-2 for these fag loving fanbois and ruin the whole concept of a catastrophic world just to make sales.

Not sure what I would I have to explain. On the forums, there is a section under forum rules & strikes that lists all banned members. Leito86 is not the list. In fact, he just endorsed a tutorial today. Missing information from forums, main page, imageshare, etc. is best chalked up to server issues. I remember seeing posts about it on the forums awhile ago.

 

You can remove the About Me section and any mod you upload as well. So, who knows? Better to ask Leito86 if you really want to know.

Endgameaddiction pretty much summed it up about nexus but I think it has more to do with where the site is hosted than the people running it. The site I think is hosted in the UK and their laws are basically nanny state strict for anything said on the internet. Their govt is trying to ban all online porn over there yet their govt members watch porn every single day. The funny thing is that the UK is probably one of the best creators of certain kinds of porn and there is a lot of money involved in porn over there. Germany is another crazy strict country when it comes to stuff said on the internet. I remember a site I went to for a while in the late 90's for some crappy space game that was made in germany and any posts a user made had to first be read by a moderator before they could be posted on their forums.

 

It seems like people are not allowed to have a dam backbone anymore and think for themselves and fight their own battles, nanny state has to step in and make everyone behave and force acceptance of extremes and taboos as normal in society. But people won't take that kind of crap forever and it will eventually cause a lot of social problems that lead to violence.

 

 

I think there are two reasons why nexus is so popular, one they are like facebook for skyrim modding basically your mod will be showcased very well and all kinds of stats are available for it once you post it. Then the popularity comes in for good modders and it just feels like facebook after that. I think that facebook mentality is also why skyrim is still popular among so many main stream sites and users.

 

Two, they are the only place willing to spend so much money hosting a site that can handle so much demand for skyrim mods in that facebook kind of way. The other sites don't show things the same way and that is because they probably can't afford to.

Welcome to the Nexus, home of the dickheaded, butthurt admins. I don't know if maybe some of them are just lifeless losers IRL who feed their self esteem by banning or if they think they're doing the right thing.

 

This is why I hate the Nexus. It's full of oversensitive whineasses who demand you cater to what they want or else you're banned. (Excuse my rage, I've dealt with the failadmins before and they piss me off.).

Modding taken serious = Boring as hell, Generates Zerofrosts who doesn't accepts helpful critics and the goes whinning to the site mods, and then some people starts to take this as a job and starts to fuck with everything in the community, if you don't accept with their rules they will reject you and then ban later, Your opinion = Shit 4 them.

 

Modding for 4 fun = Us, workshop, bethforums(in a certain PoV), vgu and other communities, we mod for fun and because we love these games, it doesnt matter if someone has the original or not, as long as this person has a CK that he loves to use it and share with the people his mods that he made with fun, we mod for fun, we mod because we like it
