Banned from Nexus

Being able to block/hide/delete posts by troublemakers in an upload thread is a GOOD IDEA.  Being able to BAN someone from using a mod when they haven't done anything wrong (other than being on to uploader's shit list) is just a BAD ADMINISTRATION OF A FORUM.  "You didn't do anything wrong, the uploader just doesn't like you."  That's fucking stupid and what I've come to expect from Nexus in the last 18 months.

Let's be slightly speculative and assume that author A bans user B from getting the mod "Bob's Weapon" -- do you think they will add the functionality on NMM that when B is banned from using a mod then the said mod is forcibly deactivated/deleted?

Would that even be legal?

Talk about jumping to conclusions guys. Give it time. Assess the impact and then judge. All these arguments are stupidly premature and only serve to make you look silly. It might be bad or it might turn out fine but we'll only know once the dust settles and we can see the results. Of course we'll be analysing the results continuously and, of course, as has been the way for the past 12 years, if I don't like the direction things are going/have gone I will revert or change things accordingly. I'm never afraid to look at things objectively and admit that a change hasn't worked out for the best (case-in-point: the reputation system for comments). Stop worrying. Give it time. If in 3 months time it's obvious things have changed for the worse then you can start to complain.

If that is not a pretentious and fuck cheesed slap in the face to damn near everyone who expressed concern, then I don't know what is.

To say folks raising concerns are "stupidly premature" is probably the single most stupid thing the Dark One has ever said.

Giving mod authors the ability to delete comments is a good thing.  Who could possibly argue with that?  Certainly not me.

Allowing those same mod authors to ban folks from their mods is just fucking silly.  How in the blue balls of Paul Bunyan can anyone think this is a good idea?  And further that Robin has the temerity to insult others over protesting to it, is a classic example of drinking lighter fluid and pissing on a fire.  It is too late to tell them it isn't a good idea after they go and do it.

What kind of horse's ass logic is this nonsense anyway?  I know that common sense is dead these days, but digging it up and fucking the corpse is just going too damn far!

Priceless, and describes what is going on to a tee.

Don't forget the front sides of her neck... back sides are okay, but watch out for that neckline in the front!

[edit] Also, no female armpits. Cuz everyone knows females don't have armpits.

The rule I've always used is if I can see if it on the street here then it's fine for the imageshare.

Edit: I'm taking no chances.

If you can see THAT on the street there, I'm glad I don't live where you live. That would totally freak me out.

You know, if that yellow area up top on the women is "adult content" then I worked with an awful lot of lewd women at my old IT job. Shoulders? Really? Even our department VP would have crossed that line.

Really folks.....Instead of having to quantify when this is acceptable and when that isn't..we colored the dang paper doll.  I think that we can agree that a strapless evening dress isn't going to qualify..unless it is made by Fredericks of Hollywood.

It was easier to include that entire area in yellow than to make a checkerboard of this area or that.   Imagine it like this.   If there was no clothing on the person in the yellow area leaving ONLY the orange covered..it would need to be marked adult.

Does that make sense now?

Don't make this more difficult than it needs to be please?

It's almost like we had to draw the line because lots of people using the Image Share were too bat-shit-stupid to work out what we meant by no nudity, no skimpy clothing, no clothing so small it might as well not be there, no pubic hair and no nudity hidden by a lone fig. Personally I didn't think it was too hard to understand but I've been proven wrong time and time (and time and time and time and time) again on this matter. So there you go, the really stupid people make it harder for everyone else. Again.

Well isn't Mr Robin a condescending little twat?..Whada TOOL.  Is the staff there so fucking stupid they don't realize that by their new standards VANILLA GAME UNDERWEAR is too skimpy for image share?  I guess FARK0ne doesn't care about alienating the bisquit wheels on his gravy train.  The ONLY reason Nexus is what it is IS because of the traffic brought by people looking for NUDE BODY MODS and the armor/clothing to go with them.  Nexus would be nothing without EyeCandy, HGEC, Type3, UNP, etc.  He's not only pompous ass, now he's a fool.

Thanks info, mojodajojo.

So.......If the coloring of the paper doll was supposed to clarify things and THEN you go and say that folks should just ignore certain parts that were colored.....?  WTF????

If you can't seem to fucking color the damn thing accurately, then why in the name of all that smells like strawberries did you bother to do it in the first place?  For fucks sake do it right the first time and quit making (let me borrow Robin's expression) "bat-shit-stupid" pictures\rules that don't properly convey what you mean.  Sheesh.  Talk about the blind leading the blind.

As to the rest of Robin's comments.....why is he even bothering?  Just erase the pictures and warn\ban the idiots.  Clearly, no nudity means just that.  Why bother to color paper dolls....inaccurately at that?  I don't get any of it.  Typical fuss just to fuss.

I've continuously had images removed in the description part when I post images on Nexus. What strikes me funny is that the no nudity rules apply, yet, if you scroll back to 2009-2010 you'll see that there is still nude images and sex practicing images in the image share tagged Adult. Anyone who still has an account on there go to the image section and type in page 1522. It unacceptable to upload this type of content, yet it's perfectly okay for that to remain up there for any adult members to see. Clearly this is stupid. If he's so anal about this kind of stuff being observed by people that will find it offensive, why hasn't this been removed?

I posted an image like this one below. Except I had my female character facing the camera and shrugging. I quoted "Mere coincidence? I think not." It's from a player vault mod, but I honestly don't know of the mod author realized this or not. For all I know, it could just be that way from the vanilla game by Bethsoft.... I know when I took the pic at first, I didn't catch on to it.  I had doubts whether or not to post it. I guess I should of gone with my gut instinct on that one... I posted it along with the main image and a couple of other random images in the description and flagged it as adult.

I figured there wouldn't be an harm. It's rated adult and certain adults would find it funny and curious. That it may be, but boy was I wrong. That particular image got blocked so quick.

Anyways, I decided to rant about it and I guess people went viral about my post bashing the moderators for such a silly move. I didn't bother reading the comments people may have posted. I knew what was coming. the whole thing got removed the very next day.

Why the female chest is considered adult? I will allow myself to understand that exposing breasts and nipples is adult, and might get you in trouble if you are browsing at school or work. However, I don't see why the whole female chest is adult. It looks like Dark0ne should try to leave his basement once in a while.

Does that mean, if I post a picture of myself wearing a tank shirt, I will get banned from Nexus if it's not tagged as adult material?

I had a breakfast table epiphany this morning and it finally sank in what Dark0ne is doing to Nexus concerning his skewed view of what is or is not adult material.  He is taking a game forum that centers on Rated M for Mature games and is making it safe for Rated T for Teen users.  No wonder the grown ups are irked at him.

Okay, I'm sorry, but that is a ROCK FORMATION.  If those STUPID STUPID people at Nexus found that offensive then I assume they would be apoplectic over THESE:

Blacklist, like what Nexus intends to do by allowing uploaders to effectively BAN other members from using their content.  I wonder if the 'to-be-banned' actually have to post in an upload thread and actually do something rude or wrong before they can be banned from using a mod?  Or can mod uploaders simply use the forum software and manage banned downloaders like they can friends or ignored users?  I think it would be really fucked up if uploaders can simply PICK people without cause and ban them from using their content for no other reason than 'I don't like them' or 'they were mean to my friends on another forum so I'm gonna ban them from using my stuff'.

It is just typical childish Nexus bullshit and it is going to cause problems....er..uhm...NEVER MIND!  I think it is a GREAT IDEA for Nexus to have that feature!  Pure GENIUS!

Couldn't that also be used to block everybody but those allowed? If it follows through to the NMM that would mean that anyone that downloads the mod from the site for someone else or post this mod elsewhere without any permission and uses NMM would essentially have their mods removed when NMM calls "home". Ultimate control.

Next will be a questionnaire where individuals well state who they know what sites they use and what types of mods they like. Lore frendly, Sex mods, shooters, quest, puzzles and NMM will go out and fill the data folder with approved mods based on those answers. ... oh shit. DarkOne might have read this and now has a new idea to control the users. ..

That would be really sad, especially since a lot of people work hard to assign proper ratings to games, and you know, those are people with credentials, experience and pretty much try to ensure younger people of certain ages are exposed to things in a pace that allows parents to control and be informed about the content of each game.

If he really had a problem with the rating of the games then he should answer to ZeniMax Media and then answer to the huge numbers of fans of the franchise that love what makes Fallout violent, and dark. Humanity is made out of these things, and these things, including sex, should have a space in the games (which do, to the games to an extent, and mods allow further developments) and nobody has the right to deny that to authors of artistic work like mods unless in extreme cases.

No, he's merely following Bethesda. Watering down The Elder Scrolls to appeal to a wider community, ruin what made us unite together in the first place, but ultimately this greedy desire will be his undoing in due time. Because what he has is merely an ivory tower being built and he will be at the top of it. Alone. Meanwhile everyone else will have moved on, and only those too fanatic will stay.
