wow - if that's real news then that is crazy! someone at beth's board room should be the voice of reason and just say "hey man lets just cut our losses and do the right thing and refund those who want it," so do you think zenimax or beth is making these heinous decisions? 

 

actually I think beth might have legally covered themselves with that weird note they sent out before launch warning buyers to expect bugs ?

It's marketing people and the developers just go along with it.  Look at the state of their recent games.  'It can't be Fallout unless there's super mutants and the BOS so put them in.'  I don't think the devs are pulling janitors out of the hallway to check continuity or story so what's happening at Bethesda is a conscious effort from all involved.  I'm fresh out of sypathy for Bethesda after the shit show of FO4.  They're no better than EA at this point.

you want to know why this is such a fiasco? they are trying to fit a square peg in a round hole. they are not understanding that us Bethesda gamers are NOT the same kind of people that play CoD, Battlefield games etc... 

 

TOTALLY DIFFERENT AUDIENCE

 

for the time being they seem to have failed in mimicking EAs slimy business practices but the troubling issue is that their INTENT is clearly being conveyed to us. they seem to have clear marching orders to put money before the game.

1 guy said he's experimenting with CBBE and even said he had some of 2Pac's armor skins installed in Fallout 76. I even asked him about it. Other's have asked about mods/etc too but it's buried quickly by the multiple hate threads from 3 people.

 

I'm not surprised you missed the mod talk though with all the echo chamber of Fallout 76 hate-clubbing going on here. Why are separate Fallout 76 threads being merged into this hate thread? Is LL moderators going the way of Nexus moderators? I pray not....

idk but a place to have constructive discussion about modding 76 without it being buried by people that are either for or against the game would be nice.

yea dude I totally agree!

 

I initially started a new thread in general gaming to talk about the negative reception but it was thrown into this one. dunno if that was the best decision or the reasoning behind it? I kinda wish they would let us have a separate thread so we're not butting heads.

I see what you mean: Mirrors - WORKING mirrors AND a voice for the PC. In case I'm not wrong, add it to Todo for Bethesda.

And for good scenes (there were defacto only scenes), I recommend a look at Thief. No - unfortunately no PC voice, but really good - from just one person.
Huge respect for DogmaMods.

There is still a chance, that TES6 has at least a great storyline.

And well, I ain´t that much of a graphic freak, so I don´t mind the old engine.

 

You know, "Monopoly" releases new games constantly, but still they use same cartonage.

 

The only thing Bethesda needs to do is release a good hand crafted game with packing narration. 

And as well, at least 85% free of bugs.

All the other old stuff will do well for me.

He downloaded NMM and is now using Vortex. No help needed or required. :)

He lives closeby so I'm sure he'd call me over to help him if needed.

FO76 is not a continuation of FO4 - it is completely different.

And Fallout 4 did not appear until 2015 - not 7 years ago.
But as far as I know, you have never played FO3, FO NV or even older titles.
So you have to wait-for the right game and the right thread.

Those two are mutually exclusive.  Bethesda games are buggy BECAUSE of their choice in game engine.  The Netimmerse/Gamebyro/Creation engine can't do what modern engines do.  Todd Howard flat out LIED at E3 when he said the 'new Creation Engine renders landscape differently'.  That's total bullshit since Creation engine can only render landscape on the z axis.  That's why their games don't have actual sculpted landscapes and use memory-heavy 3D models for rocks, mountains, caves, etc.  Draw distance rendering is also limited.

The Creation Engine treats NPCs and creatures the same way it treats the player.  It processes inventories, AI, light reflection/refraction and everything else like everything in the cell is playable.  That's why cities in Bethesda games are ghost towns; the engine can't handle anything more.  And load doors are a requirement since the engine can't process moving from an interior into an exterior (and vice versa) without them.  That's all just the limitations on the game world itself; it doesn't even cover script processes and animations.

 

Bethesda games are buggy clusterfucks because of the engine they use; an engine they insist on using and one the fans make excuses for.  If people started holding Bethesda accountable for their bullshit they'd start making better games; their horrible writing not withstanding.
