myuhinny Posted June 17, 2018 Posted June 17, 2018 76 will never be offline it will always be online. You can solo but there is just always going to be people around forever unless the game dies. What happens if all places get hit at the same time? For me I won't even bother with 76 as it's just another cash grab MMO and I generally stay away from MMO's anyway I never even bothered with ESO.

Mama Murphy Posted June 17, 2018 Posted June 17, 2018 I'm not even gonna bother with FO 76. Just the fact that they made it an online game tells me what they're planning to do with it. They couldn't heavily cash in on private modding so they're gonna go the MMO route. They will link it to a store full of mod quality items so that the "look at me" crowd can swipe their cards and loiter around in awe of themselves. Watch them do it.

Besides, I just got to where I ignore Preston and settlements altogether and just explore. With Portable Workshop and some other mods I use, I can scrap almost anything anywhere and build/rebuild what I want- can add npcs to sandbox without them being part of the settler "system".⛳

There are only a few number of launch sites. There will NEVER be a point where there will be "nukes everywhere" it'll be physically impossible.

One of the justifications given for making FO76 mods available only from the CC was to stop adult mods. But yes there will be private servers and mods but not at launch. I think it may have potential but Im not sure, Ill wait for the private servers and mod update and see how it plays to decide to buy or not.

But there's one thought that always tickled my brain in a bad way when I played online MP sex games (I stopped)... as much as the other person online can be a 50 year old fat guy (basically me, but a bit younger and less fat) OR a nice 'real' gamer girl that is not just pretending to be one.... It can ALSO be an 11 year old kid that's just trying out these mods in their online game.... I can see the lawsuits and media spin something in a really bad way. And where you were playing some nice sexy roleplay online, suddenly you're facing nasty vice charges and a permanent predator record... I've just gotten really careful online and am avoiding anything MP based that has sexy stuff. I'm also actively avoiding any sexy chat, or PM's (I do get them, well according to having made Ivy). The thing is, most kids do lie about their age and are playing 18+ games online, often with parents not even realizing (or just not caring about) age restrictions. It's a weird world out there where a lot of misunderstandings are happening.

Why do they feel the need to draw attention to such things if they're so against it? All that does is tell the world it's a major issue. To whom and for what reasons is what they don't say. Which could be spun into any number of directions. It also brings up uncomfortable questions since this isn't the first time folks like Howard have expressed such attitudes. What will they do in the future if they're so anti-adult mod? Will they force all of their future games to be online in some capacity to try and stop it? Will they try and make it illegal under their future TOUS to use adult mods? Intellectually I know such efforts would fail in the end and likely require illegal measures. But I still worry. I'm just being a bit paranoid.
