And one should be a billionaire before having even a baby grand piano. And there is a Bechstein upright on MTS too, and it costs 16000 simoleons. That is a price you may pay in Euro for a Bechstein upright piano in RL as well. I worked for a piano restauration service years ago, and we had one Bechstein. It sounds like a big one, really.

So usually, what I like to do is use screenshots to tell stories, which I post in the stickied thread. I don't do anything fancy with the screenshots themselves, don't add effects or anything, hence why I haven't posted any in this thread which is focused more on the art of the screenshot.

But I figured I might post a few here as well, those that have some, dare I say it, artistic quality. Or atleast some standalone pornographic quality. So yeah, I'm by nature more of a writer than a visual artist, but these are some of my better screenshots, which devoid of context and story I feel still have some value.

 

The sims themselves are, as a general rule, not mine. I hate working in CAS, so I just download sims as I need them, although I sometimes make some changes to them to fit in with the story I am telling. Most of them from our very own mrrakkon who is no stranger in this thread. So all credit where due for the sims themselves.

@carlfatal Neat building tips (and pics... the "brain" leggins look freaky though). You hit the nail on the head with the irregular room shapes, with bays, etc. It must make it so much easier to fill the space with furniture and decorations. ? I recently redecorated the bedroom below for a photoshoot. There's is a great void on the whole right side and behind the camera, populated by a very sad coat hanger. The room is rectangular and no matter what I placed there it just looked dumb. Please ignore the fire hazards. ?

Re: "cute faces". Here's the secret - round-ish facial shape, fuller cheeks, huge eyes, dainty nose and pouty lips. A light makeup except for the dark eyeliner. When in doubt, increase the eye size.

@carlfatal If you were referring to the scene where Janine mentions to Li Jing that she is worried she may stay that way, yes, it is almost heartbreaking. I wanted to show that the mutations were a serious thing that had to be dealt with. Hence, the heroic "sacrifice" of the crew as erplederp so aptly stated it.

I can't seem to find the eye size slider anymore.  Do you know of a CC slider that borrows that slot or something?  I've got new sliders I didn't have before, that came packaged with tray sims.  I don't even know where to click to adjust those sliders, they just came with a sim.

Here are my sim makeovers I did Yuki and candy behr quite while ago but The BFF household is one of the recent makeover I've done for my stories I kept them quite similar to the previous so they don't go out of the track but gave them pretty neat details.

I will take these into consideration next time I make a new Sim game. My only issue is I am my own worst critic and nothing is ever good enough in my eyes. I can spend over an hour making a sim and throw it all away out of frustration thinking it's not good enough. ?

 

Some of the sims I made that did make it however I always have them in my games one way or another.

They both look great! I like your smooth, MAXIS-matchy style. It would be interesting if you tried making Max and Chloe from Life is Strange (if you know the game). Your Yuki and Candy screenshot gives very similar vibes.

It is funny to hear you mentioning Elizabeth! When I ran into at the white blouse blue skirt combination I made the exact same connection and it helped me select accessories and hairstyle for the outfit.

Based on the sim in the picture, I'd say you have a good eye for the style. She's beautiful and her features combine well together.

 

Are you going for the perfect likeness when recreating characters? Maybe that could be what is limiting you in a way...? I simply try to copy all the key features of a character instead. I try to make them at least somewhat accurate to the reference but at a certain point I stop worrying about it (and looking at it) and then keep adjusting the features so they look good in my eyes (here's where the "same face" issue might come from). This way the sims are not exactly accurate but I like them. ?

 

Below is the comparison for Rapunzel. You can see the varying degree of accuracy. The shade of blonde is different and the hairstyle as well (but it is long and blonde). The eye color matches, the eye shape only somewhat (the dark eyeliner is a way to highlight the eyes). The eyebrows and nose mostly match. The lips don't really match but the mouth is small (and hence cute). The facial structure matches roughly - the cheekbones could be higher, the chin slightly pointier and the jawline smoother (for a more oval shaped face). The shade of makeup differs slightly too, both for the blush and the lipstick. So yeah... if you said it is not even the same person in your eyes I couldn't really object either.

As you can tell, my tastes are freckles, thicc, and I guess you can say elegance. This is my pride and joy sim though. Been using her for well over a year in and out when I play the Sims 4.

As for your variation of Rapunzel, the Sims 4 character creation can only go so far. Mods can further enhance this, but not perfect it. While not a 100% clone of what you seek you are very close. In my opinion anyone who criticizes your sim 4 comparison non constructively is either trolling or is never satisfied.

Well, here it is, the final episode. Ending a project always gives me mixed emotions. Sad to see the end of something that's been part of my daily activities for so long. OTOH, I'm really happy to have more time for other fun pursuits!

 

In this episode: Nelida confronts Tiffany, Sam gets a birthday surprise, and Darlene makes a fateful decision. There's a bit of added content for those who stay through the credits.

Congratulations to finishing (yet another!) huge series, Juliette! ??? Your ability to see difficult projects through is both admirable and inspiring, actually. As 2cool4u correctly points out the whole series was consistent in its quality, with fun writing and creative ideas (and spicy encounters, can't forget those ?) till the end. I think I kind of disagree with you about "cuteness" and what characterizes it and how to get it with sims. Not saying your sims aren't cute, but I think there's several factors that go into it and that any of they ones you list aren't necessarily what you need, it's kind of a full picture thing and probably has as much to do with presentation as basic appearance, that is hairstyle and makeup and such. "Expression" is also probably really important which is why I guess it might seem like the pouty mouth and big eyes are so important, but eyebrow shape is just as important if not more so (and here hairstyle also comes in due to how it frames the face. 

 

Again it's hard to put your finger on it exactly, but I believe just boiling it down big eyes, small nose, rounded cheeks, pouty mouth is probably a mistake in the long-term as there's much more to it than that. Of course personal opinion and preferences play a big part here as well. Here's some of my sims that I personally find to fall mostly on the "cute" side of things and I think several of them don't follow the "guidelines" you mentioned, pretty much none except the new one (2nd) mostly fail the the small nose thing, first girl (who I think is one of the cuter sims I've made) has a positively huge nose, and several have somewhat wide rather than pouty mouths, though I think I mostly go for the kind of rounded cheeks rather than pointy or protruding ones (though I also often go for almost flat, I think the large rounded/pointy ones that you often get, don't look good in Sims 4 and don't correspond with how most peoples' cheeks actually look, even though you see it often amongst both Maxis and gallery sims), they also mostly have eyes on the larger side (again I think the reason that seems important is due to how important the apparent expression might be to this).
