TBH I could do this in sims but the main difference is that alpha hair gets proper shading in render environments compared to using mxao in reshade.

Haha. Look at it this way; If Maxis made complete sets (not just the parts they wanted to build with), you would already have all that installed. The only difference is that it would be in your game files, not the mods folder.

 

You also helped me improve the roof-fence issue by leaps and bounds.

Keep the roof base away from fence and extend the shingles. It doesn't work in all cases, like where there's not enough room to keep it away. There's also a visual space underneath the shingles, but it's still a vast improvement. ?

 

 

Here's the craftsman house, I call "The Exhibitionist" for lack of a better name. I replaced most of the CC with Maxis stuff, but I was asked to leave the kitchen and dining area as is. I added a few more things, like patio furniture, and a fully-functional side garage door (in foundation). I do NOT consider this house complete, and there is no landscaping done. Please redecorate to your heart's content. I was not inspired to decorate it, so I used it for a decorating challenge, where each room was given a random color.

I call this house "The Exhibitionist" because when the back doors are opened as shown in the floor plans, the entire first floor living area is exposed, somewhat like this;

 

There's also the fact that the street-level bay window at the front corner of the house, is a SHOWER with no practical window coverings. Anyone (including your parents) can get an eye-full of someone showering, as they walk up to the front door, or walk by on the sidewalk. I, personally, intend to convert this into a walk-in closet, and move the shower and bath to the back. I like using walk-in showers, rather than the booths Maxis made, because they give better playability, and visual enjoyment.

@2cool4u_1  Are those showers cloned from the DU one, or are those the showers that have been around for a long time?  I love using the DU shower to make zero-privacy showers, though I've never made it visible from outside before.  Those older cc showers act like the cubicle is still there, which makes sims do really strange things when they have sex in them.

The shower in the very last pic is an old cc shower. That's from my very first floor plan build in 2016. I was just giving an example of the showers I like to build, but you're right that sex gets weird sometimes, so I replace those with the DU ones now. In this house, there were two showers upstairs. One I replaced with a bath, the other has a cubicle (bigger) that I enclosed it in. Downstairs (in the bay window), I used a DU shower.

I poked around TSR earlier and got a couple new showers, I'm not sure if they're cloned from the DU one or not, but they're new enough that they could be.  Still need to try them out.

But yeah, I do like making showers with either a wall with those Eco windows that are pretty much the whole wall segment, or just a half-wall, or even no surround at all, so they're in full view of anyone who walks into the bathroom.

 

Edit:  It seems that these two are indeed cloned from the DU shower.  You can step in from any direction, and sex runs the open-shower animations I have.  They're called "Keep it Clean" and the thumbnail says RVSN on it.

Thank you. I downloaded the shower heads and will try them out when I get a chance. The walls are relatively useless, because as you said there are better options. The old build-a-shower cc could also be converted to DU style showers, but I personally don't have time for that. At least not for a while.

I actually mentioned this, because the first time I play-tested the house, one of my sims had just gotten married, so I moved her and her husband into it. She was taking a shower there (her husband was nude in the hot tub), when her parents, brother, and sister walked onto the front porch with some fruitcake. They couldn't see her, because that's technically a wall (sims can't see through windows), but that was awkward.

So, another incarnation of Tabitha.  I found a male sim that I find interesting enough for Tabitha to settle down with, Sir Alistair Hammerlock.  Yes, I know the Borderlands character is gay.  Here Tabitha is still carrying some baby weight.

A tough, outdoorsy older Brit definitely needs a Land Rover sitting in the driveway.  Looks like the paparazzi is checking it out.

 

 

Tabitha back floating while very pregnant, I had to get a screenshot because it looked so ridiculous.  They made the baby on Love Day.  I wish I could arrange for the baby to be born on Harvestfest, but that means a 27-day pregnancy.  Too long to deal with, and way out of proportion to sim lifespans.  If your birthday falls around (American) Thanksgiving, do the math.  Yes, you are welcome for that mental image.

yeah, those windows should have been made by EAxis in the first place but we all know this team, they never did, even not in the Sims 2 or 3. And so for me those "addons" some people made and make, are the most important CC in my game. This counts towards build mode items but also some of the furniture is worth to get an addon, like the tiny houses pack for example, or eco living: https://illogicalsims.tumblr.com/

 

And while I was donwloading all those windows, you´ve linked me too, and I read about all the work to update them cause of the missing fix for S4S, this particular fix came out... So much work, and now it can be done by only one click...

 

And yeah, now your house looks much more "completed" with the rails surrounding those open spaces in the upper floor. Only i don´t get it, why you don´t use the overhang options of the roof parts. I know, they can be tricky some times but with shift you can change only one isde of a roof, and cause of my bugged house i learned, that doubling them and using them with different options of covering can give you much freedom in creating nice roofs (for the price of much work and rethinking and trial and error though). But I definitely love your house, it´s backfront is simly stunning, and for the streetside I would use bushes and stuff to cover up all the open areas. Let the sun shine in!

 

This articular shower btw. seems to be now oertaken by EAxis or the new addon. At least it looks very similar. I know the original, never dowloaded it but this morning I searched for the shower/tub combo in Mt. Komorebi, until I realized, that the combo is CC only. So things can go, if one plays with non-EAxis stuff.

And yes, I also mostly use the one from the university addon. It´s my favourite shower too.

Okay, enough fun, I´ve bought the new addon for a small price, and I had to build a house in mt. Komorebi. The sim on my pictures is made rom a nice version of Wednesday Addams in the gallery, and she had to wear the new school uniform for the pictures. Yeah, at least, that is, what we all know about Japan, school uniforms...

My house is not really Japanese, I am not an expert, if it comes to East-Asian architecture in general. But I wanted to build with the new platforms and half walls, and with the furniture. So this small starter home came out after a few hours. I´ts not finished, but it´s under 18k Simoleons. I have to buy a fridge though, and I did not decorate the house at all.

 

Considered, how many problems this new addon seems to cause, even if I only had one error message but no problems to start, the weather on my pictures definitely can be seen as an expression of my mixed feelings towards EAxis´ content in general. So sorry for this but I couldn´t change it, I was really playing here not only building.

The furniture is mostly from the new addon, only the chair is from StarWars, the fireplace is basegame, and some of the books are, well... books. The computer is from KawaiiStacie´s Education Bundle, it´s made to have the possibility to use homeschooling options.

 

 

Her name is Greta Grout (Damn, I am a hun, I know  ), and the wooden floor is CC, made by julsfels and availlable at Sims4Fun.

Marilyn Monroe was long dead by the time that she was added to The Sims 1 but that didn't stop her from showing up, now did it? A simple sexual orientation re-alignment is the last thing that anyone should be worried about (not that anyone who has canonically straight characters or Sim versions of real world celebrities in gay relationships in imagery posted to this very site does stress themselves out about such things).

Bailey Jay isn't running some kind of Big Brother/The Real World-esque reality show with Transsexual porn stars but that didn't deter me from enacting such a theoretical scenario in game for one nanosecond.

Thanks for the link again. I grabbed the Masxis-set addons last time, but decided to check the link again and got some more stuff. Yeah, that door & window fix was a massive amount of work. It was one of the S4S team's priority, it was just released, and they started back in early September (8 September patch). Thanks for the compliment on the house, and shrubbery is a great idea to add more privacy.? I did say the house was incomplete, but shared it there for anyone who wants it. One of the main things missing, is adding the roof overhang. The problem is I can't figure out how to do it, without the roof extending inside the house. Specifically, the garage corner piece. There are no actual corner pieces, so the only usable piece extends all the way back, in order to be the right sized corner. SHIFT-Clicking to extend one edge is a useful trick, thank you, but it doesn't work on those roof pieces (or it's just me). By all means, feel free to prove me wrong. I'd like to actually add the overhang eventually. For now, after MANY hours, I'm leaving it until I figure out how to do so.

Sledding with your toddler is just as cute as it sounds.

 

 

 

Tabitha took to pulling off jumps immediately.  But tends to wipe out when trying to stop at the bottom.  I wonder if Maxis even has a crashed jump animation, or if falling at the bottom is the only way to tell how the run went?  As a spellcaster, she can get a lot of runs in quickly, because she don't need no stinkin' ski lift, she just transportalates back to the top.

 

 

 

BTW, I didn't change little Mike's eyes... but they did change.  Weird...

Kyle: "Good morning, sunshine..."

Gina: "Mhhhmm... Good way to wake me up, Char... wait, hold on... I... went to sleep alone!"

Kyle: "Well, I have to sleep somewhere. This is my room after all."

Gina: "Oh. Yeah. Of course. No Guest Room."

Kyle: "So, now that you know... Mind if I continue 'waking you up'?"

Gina: "Not at all... Just let me... Oh, wait, noooo...."

 

 

Gina: "Nooo, no-no-nononononononooo.... I cannot do that, I'm sorry..."

Kyle: "What?! But we had so much fun last night... You seemed to more than just enjoy our company..."

Gina: "Yes- and- I like you, all of you but - I can't stay here. I have to go. First back to where I'm staying and then back home!"

Gina: *sighs* "I thought this all here was no-strings-attached-fun?"

But Gina does not stop, as she cannot find her shoes. Maybe they're outside, on one of the platforms?

And when she got outside, she saw the other three residents of the house... Among them Maya...

 

 

Gina: "What... what the... what the fuck am I seeing?"

Kyle: *sigh* "So... it's out of the bag now... fuck..."

Maya: "No need to worry, Kyle. We can talk about this. Yes, Gina, we are... Mermaids.... or Mermen... Come in, Kyle. We should be as honest as possible about this."

Gina: "As honest as possible?"

 

 

Kyle: "Yes... In fact, we are all Mermaids and Men living here... This.... is kind of our Lair..."

Gina: "I.... I cannot believe this! Mermaids do not exist! Am I... am I still sleeping? Is this a dream?"

Maya: "I know how this goes... Just take your time... I'm gonna come in soon, and answer all of your questions... Please, do not leave before I have come in..."

 

Silently, Gina just turns around without uttering a word. When Maya went in about five minutes later, she sat on the sofa.

 

 

Gina: "So... you.... *breathes in deeply* are... a Mermaid?"

Maya: "Yes. Evidently."

Gina: "A real... Mermaid. Like... the Little Mermaid, from Denmark? The Hans Christian Andersen type?"

Maya: "Not... neccessarily. As you can see, we do not live in a big, fancy Kingdom underwater, but an abandoned old... well, we don't really know what this building used to be, but it belongs to a long dead civilization of... either Mermaids or Humans who worshipped Mermaids..."

Gina: "Sorry, that... feels maximally weird to say, but that sounds like Mermaids are a different species than Humans...?"

Maya: "Not really. As you can see, and clearly have also felt, our bodily functions are mostly the same. Except we need to be in the water at least once a day for a while. And while we can not choose to be born as Humans, becoming a Mermaid is, in most cases, a choice."

Gina: "I do not really understand... do you... transform people into Mermaids? Did you turn the guys into Mermen?"

Maya: "Yes, I did. Over the years, they all came to Lussanca searching for a new life. Kyle got his heart broken, Kishi didn't feel welcome at his home country, and Andrew just seeked out the adventure. And I revealed my secret to all of them when I felt they would join me. When they would agree, I would turn them into Mermen, via a ritual called 'the Nautical Wedding'"

Gina: "I see... Interesting. But... wouldn't people know about you? I always thought if supernatural beings existed, the Media would turn it into the sensation of the milennium..."

Maya: "I don't know. These three are the only Mermen I know of today. The one who... turned me into a Mermaid died years ago in the human world to an accident. I don't think there are many of us nowadays. I for one am just very careful... well... *laughs* except when it comes to Guests, I... guess."

Gina: "Alright, I... I will keep your secret, don't worry. But... I have a favour of you to ask before I leave..."

Maya: "Yes?"

Gina hesitated before she continued.

Gina: "Can you... turn someone into a Merman for me?"

Maya: "I.... I hesitate to just say yes... but I think I know who you are talking about... I will do it, but I will require your assistance."

 

Afterwards, they both headed back to Newland's house, who should by now have returned from his business trip.

 

 

Gina: "Alright. What do I need to help you with here?"

Maya: "So, this man... Newland, you call him... He's totally horny on you, right? If you, lets say, walked up naked to him, he couldn't resist?"

Gina: "Probably, yeah."

Maya: "Good, very good. We will need that irresistable charme of yours."

Gina: "Maybe it would be good if you told me how it all would go about?"

Maya: "Oh, the Nautical Wedding sounds way more glorious than it really is. I need to kiss him, while he cums inside me, and let a special type of sailva into his mouth."

Gina: "Wait... So... that means, you all could have turned me into a Mermaid yesterday?!?!"

Maya: "Yes. Don't worry, if you would be one, you would have needed much more exposure to water. It's like throwing a fish on dry land, just... reversed. Can we start?"

Gina: "I'm ready. Let us go inside."

 

 

Bruce: "Oh, there you are. I was wondering if I had to publish that little story of ours."

Gina: "I was just going out a bit while you were gone... I am allowed to do that, right? After all, this here is temporary..."

Bruce: "Fine. Who's that beauty that's with you?"

Maya: "I'm Maya. Gina told me you like... the special kind of fun?"

Bruce: "Oh, I sure do. If that's who you met while you were gone, Gina, I was never mad at all. Let us go upstairs, ladies..."

 

 

Kyle: "Gina, why so retreated? Come back here..."

Gina: "Oh, Maya just told me she likes you very much... I am just gonna watch you finish..."

 

 

Maya: "I hope you liked it..."

Bruce: "Damn... You sure do have some experience in the Cavalry, girl..."

Maya: "I'm glad to hear that... Something tells me we will... repeat this one day..."

 

 

As Gina cannot sleep well that night, she gets up while Maya and Bruce are seemingly sleeping, heading out to the Terrace...

 

 

Mermaids... how crazy... sure never gets boring in my life, huh? What I would give for the days of normalcy... and peace...

 

 

Maya: "If you leave tonight, you might be at home when the sun rises."

Gina: "Oh, it's you. I thought you were sleeping?"

Maya: "It's not easy sleeping with an asshole underneath you. Something I surely don't need to tell you."

Gina: "Yeah, you don't. I have experience with that. Hopefully I never have to see him again."

Maya: "I... wanted to tell you something, before you go."

Gina: "Sure, sit down."

 

 

Maya: "I... was hoping that you would ask me to turn Bruce into a Merman. In fact, I relied on it. It was... part of my plan."

Gina: "Your... plan? But... how?"

Maya: "I know Bruce for a while know. Ever since he moved here ten years ago, many things in Lussanca just worsened. Rent increased for many people here, and a growing Tourism industry put many formerly respected sites and ruins at risk of being desecrated. So when you arrived a few days ago, I... immediately noticed. And tried to seduce you into helping me with him."

Gina: "I honestly don't know what to say now... "

Maya: "I do. I am sorry. I wasn't fully honest with you. But my... secret prevented me from being open about that."

Gina: "I mean... in the end, our goals just aligned with each other. It's not like you manipulated me into hating him. The result would have been the same if I just encountered you randomly. It... does not matter that much. No big deal."

Maya: "Thank you. I... did not want you to leave without knowing this..."

 

 

Maya: "In fact, I would prefer it if you would not leave at all..."

 

 

Maya: "But I know you need to go... Just know that if you ever want to retreat, you are always welcome here..."

Gina: "And I'll be sure to keep your secret... I promise."

 

The next morning, Gina is already arriving back at Frederickston, when Bruce has a certain and sudden urge...

 

 

Bruce: "Fuck, why do I feel so dehydrated and weak? I feel so... urged to go to the water..."

 

When he got in, his legs just suddenly transformed into a Mermen's tail.... With Maya there to watch it all...

 

 

Maya: *laughs* "I like your new look, Newland. You look way less like a douchebag now. Almost cute even."

Bruce: "What the...?! You! You did this, you witch! Turn be back into a human, now!"

Maya: "Nah.... Nah, I think I like you how you are right now... I'll think about it some day when you act less like an asshole... and leave Gina alone..."

 

 

Bruce: "Kyron! She helped you with this! I'm gonna make her pay for that! Where is she?!?"

Maya: "Out of your reach. Where she will stay for a long time. I mean, you could return to Frederickston too, but I don't think they have much of a beach there, where Mermen can live, right? No, I think you need to learn some things about your new life now..."

 

 

Only a few Minutes later, Gina arrived back in Frederickston, and arrived just in time for today's Parliament session...

 

 

Without much spectacularity, the day goes on as usual, with suprisingly unimportant votes being held in the Parliament. Shortly before closing time, Gina shares a conversation with her assistant, Kabir.

 

 

Kabir: "Miss Kyron, can I share a word with you?"

Gina: "Oh, sure. What is it?"

Kabir: "You've been kind of.. weird lately. Not only on your vacation, but overall I get the feeling that there is some... dissonance between your job and... whatever you do at home."

Gina: "What are you implying, Kabir?"

Kabir: "I don't want to sound like Newland lately, but... are you really sure you want to be here? It... always feels like you're suppressing something in yourself when you're here... Like... I barely even know anything about you, even though I have been working for you for quite some time now..."

Gina: "That's... certainly a difficult question... I know what you mean... And that dissonance is certainly there, but... I can't just abandon my responsibilities here. I will reconsider my options when a future opportunity presents itself. Thanks for asking about my well-being."

Kabir: "Okay, you're welcome. And... I have another question, Miss Kyron..."

Gina: "Please, just call me Gina. This is the Popular Front, after all..."

Kabir: "Alright, Gina... Would you... like to go out with me some time?"

Gina: "Oh? Yeah, I'd like to get to know you a little bit better. Let's go eat something soon."
