Sexout FAQ - Read this to get started

I think for other newbs trying to get this installed, that the guide should be updated with newer links at least and at most there needs be a more newbie friendly explanation of this and that so as to avoid potential users that browse these forums leaving in frustration and giving up. I mean... there are an AWFUL lot of threads related to help and faq questions. I read a ton of them and ended up on various locked dead threads more than half the time which just further confused me.

 

Anyway, thanks for the help. Im sure I'll get to the point where all the fun can begin!

 

Try the link in my sig. by BruceWayne. Sexout for beginners. It will help you set up the base requirements. SCR on the other hand don't have that level of guidance. I can only tell you to go down the list, download everything there. Open the folders make sure that they are properly structured (if you were running 200 plus mods you should understand that, Textures, mesh sound etc) some of the downloads aren't ready for FOMM to install. BnB body armors for one. Need to pull out all the needed folders.

 

Drop all the folders you process into one big folder overwrite when prompted. Pay attention to if the esp is required or not. Shortly you will have a base folder to install as a resource. There are lots of armors there.  I zip it up and use FOMM to install if later I find I messed something up. no problem I just drop it in the folder (proper structure) and zip it up again. Once the base folder for SCR is working to your liking than you don't really have to go back to work on it again for some time and only if Halstrom the creator and maintainer of SCR adds some other references.

 

Body try here. These are larger than I desire for my game. Perhaps they will be better for you. They are also BnB compatible I believe and should work for the body you install.

 

You will run into issues and problems. If you can find the answer post a tech support question in Sexout thread or where appropriate. Someone should be able help sort out.

As for my 220 mods in skyrim

I thought they were for FONV.

 

If you have a suggestion for me as I see you have been in the community for a long time and are apparently well respected, I'd like to ask you to recommend me the biggest breast mod out there that also has BNB compatible armor mod to go with it that wont make the girls of FNV look like whores that just walked out of a strip joint. I'd like it to be friendly with sexout as well.

The standard BNB download has a very-big-tits option as well as a mostly complete whores from whoreville armor and clothing set to go with it, if that's what you're in to. You can use any Type3 compatible texture for the body. I prefer the Beware of Girl texture.

Sexout's setup isn't newbie friendly. I've spent hours pouring over various threads only to find after reading hundreds of posts that the links are no longer supported. Case in point in Annika's FAQ post in which she lists the Sexout Plugins List which turns out to be a LOCKED THREAD and has on the very first post this warning: This List is no longer being maintained due to the new Download system.

 

And of COURSE the new download system isnt linked or explained. Very confusing when you are trying to follow a faq and it leads you to more confusion and questions than you had before. Im completely lost in a sea of old locked threads and unsupported links.

 

You are correct. FAQ was getting dusty, mostly because I haven't been playing FNV lately and therefore not actively maintaining the FAQ. Outdated information in a thread that's supposed to be newbie friendly guide is a crappy thing to have.

 

Soooo, I did some updating.

- Screenshot link was broken. Fixed.

- Link to SexoutNG framework pointed to old thread. Fixed.

- Link to Tryout was broken. Fixed.

- Link to FadeToBlack was broken. Fixed.

- Link to Plugin list wasn't very useful as it was no longer maintained. Removed.

- Added a mention of the new download functionality.

- Added a warning that the compilation file might be out of date.

 

I'm sure there are other things too that might be improved. If you have good ideas, let me know.

Wow, lots of activity on Sexout. Things move fast. That's really good news. That means it has a strong active community that wants to improve it and move forward. I hope to be a part of that. Gonna try installing sexout in the next several days and try a few mods out.

 

I've noticed about three main things about body types so far.

 

The first is that unless you use a custom race mod, you and everyone else will have the same female body.

 

Second is that to alleviate this and allow for more variety, there are two choices. There is a Bodies by Race mod that allows more body types, but then you are still limited by the armor they wear... which when wearing armor they revert to whatever bodytype the armor dictates. So putting on an armor thats made for small breasts and big butts will make you look like that despite having a different body type with bigger breasts. The other is having a race mod like Desert Succubus where you look different and then all the rest of the NPC's have one body. You get less variety than bodies by race, but run into fewer issues having armor dictate what body appearance you get.

 

The last is to go with a custom setup whereby you have custom armors for your body and any followers alongside replacers that match whatever NPC's you come across. Again you run into less variety, but at least your body type wont always revert to something else when you have access to stand alone armors that match your bodytpye that differ from the replacers.

 

Mix into that the fact that there are possibly 12 or more supported body types Ive seen and then armors that go with them and you are left wandering in a sea of helpless indecision. 

 

What I'm really after since browsing the body mods is a Type 6BB or Type 3 F with BNB and a full armor replacer with BNB thats not all super slutty. But I cant seem to find either. Any ideas?

Confused the hell outta me. On this link which is part of your getting started guide, there is this notice: SexoutZAZ Has Been rolled Back to Without Becks Animations And Esp  , Since they Will Be added directly to SexoutNG .

 

Now, I already installed the sexoutNG core and data fomods. The above seems to suggest that Sexout ZAZ has been rolled back to a mod called 'without becks animations and esp' and further suggests they have been or will be added to sexout NG. So do I DL the ZAZ.esp and its Datapack or not?

 

Stuff like this needs to be much more clear. Also there was some confusion when I went to install the Spectrums toy pack. The instructions lead me to believe there were three dl choices and I wasnt made aware of which of the three would be the best. The source files, which didnt allude to it just being a modders resource and then another file which said to use if you were told to use the full version and yet another that said to dl this file. So again, too many choices and not enough clarity on which to choose. At this point, community members may give up and move on and content withers and dies as a result from lack of interest. Lets fix this so its simpler easier and more intuitive to dl and use.

 

I also got a nmm error upon trying to load sexoutng - core: 'Error. Object reference not set to an instance of an object'. I simply redownloaded it and it worked ok. Never seen that error b4. fyi.

Also, at the above link there was a mere mention of Breezes body being pointless. No further explanation or pics were used or info given or warnings made on the consequences of the male body options upon installing the sexoutNG data fomod. I went with Roberts+armor fixes on a gut call. This should be made clear why there are three options and what happens when selecting each one so the user is not confused.

 

Another update... I dont know how it happened, but I ended up with sexoutsharedresources.esm which I was told by menu popup upon installing sexoutng - core that it was deprecated... So to make sure I haD SCR, I went here:  http://www.loverslab.com/files/download/33-sexout-common-resources-stable-version-scr/

And found 3 files. After reading the description on the page and then backin up my fonv thru steam cloud, which btw when a user is told they may entirely fubar their game by proceeding isnt a good way to attract new users, I decided on dling the top two links since at this point I've decided not to use Breeder and hence the last file isnt needed according to the descriptions and instructions for installation on the previous page. But of the two files I DLed, I had no idea if one or both or either or was needed. Again, confusing as there was no documentation.

 

 

SexoutTryouts was recommended in the getting started guide but had the following disclaimer:

 

Settings You MUST Use

•    SexoutNG's Rape KO is disabled for rapist and victim, and KO times set to 1s

Does this mean it will conflict with Sexout's Another Kick in the Head mod? What other mods would these settings interfere with? Isnt the use of common resources supposed to be structured so as to enable all sexout mods greater compatibility? They shouldnt use mutually exclusive options.

Okies. I gots it all working. Having a lot of fun now. FONV is completely new, scary, exciting, its great fun with all the added mods. Sexout tryouts and Another Kick in the Head mods give that adult edge fallout was always lacking.

 

Heres a suggestion to make it more user friendly. You do this and you'll see more users gobble up these mods like candy.

 

1st, the whole thing needs to take less time and effort to get installed. The install process with the guide was still convoluted and less than clear. So after having a user install NVSE and the extender, offer an installer that auto installs the entire Sexout NG along with all the SCR stuff. That way the user can move straight into figuring out what sexout mods they want to use, and ultimately, is the part that sells the whole process. If the sexout mods themselves are not detailed and written out enough to make them appear as fantastic as they are then this whole process is for not.

 

2nd, and this is outside the scope somewhat of sexout, but with as large a community as we have it isnt undoable. Have someone compile a one stop shop installer for the textures, body, armor and finally the skeleton. this part would be huge. For a 1st time fonv mod user... you have no idea how confusing this last part was for me when also trying to decide which versions what went with what.. I can only compare it to Skyrim where I have seen huge armor replacing mods that have installers that do pretty much everything the user needs them to do. I find fonv seems to be much more involved with manually editing, copying, and fiddling with things that lead to screwups and accusations that the mod doesnt work when it was just a little too over the top for the user to handle the 1st time around. I implore you guys to get installers made. If you build it they will come.

 

Anyway, thanks for the help so far. I appreciate getting through it... cant say I'd do it again, it was a pita, but fallout is now incredibly fun. I look forward to providing feedback to help make the mods better.

 

EDIT: As for the 2nd part above... I finally got around to trying out all the naked body types and textures. They dont work like skyrim thats for sure, whereby the armor will not fit properly if the right body isnt used. In the case for FONV, as everyone but noobs by now know, the armor you use changes your bodytype to whatever the armor has been created with. Your independent naked body iss irrelevant. So the body mesh you choose will decide what the shape of the body you will end up with and whether or not they will be bouncing or not. Im pretty happy now with my naked body, but my Bouncing Breast Type 3 Armors by Revanag are entirely not revealing enough. Any ideas on links for sluttier armor replacers with BNB?

Yes. ZAZ was the temporary place for animations awhile back. Those files were removed after testing and placed into Sexout. The rest of ZAZ is still useful and if a requirement for a mod you are using must be downloaded or you will miss parts of the game. All current mods should be using ZAZ as it is today.

No. Another-Kick-in-the-Head KOs are an added effect from that mod. The inbuilt Sexout KOs are seperate and not connected.

 

Another Kick in the Head will work fine whatever settings you use in sexout, SCR and generally any other mod.

I just Got New Vegas yesterday and I am still working out the kinks for this game. First time is always the worst but I'll be glad when it's done. What is stumping me is this weird Sexout notification as soon as you start the game. It says "Sexout Requires NVSE Extender V11 your verson is V0" I triple checked and I do in fact have NVSE V11 from this site installed properly. I think this is the final thorn in my side because none of the adult mods activate. They still have the text conversations, NPC approaches all that good stuff but they refuse to activate the sex/rape scenes. I for one am very tired. Been at this for almost 5 hours and I am going to bed. If anyone can find a solution for me that would be wonderful. Right now I am exhausted. :*(

You have definitely not installed prideslayer's NVSE extension v11 correctly. Sexout will not work.

 

It is an easy mistake to make, probably you extracted the folder in the archive to the correct location, rather than just the files.

 

In the following folder:

 

...\STEAM\SteamApps\common\fallout new vegas\Data\nvse\plugins

 

There should be these 3 files (there may be others there as well):

nvse_extender.dll

nvse_extender_ng.dll

I'm approached by a vault 19 powederganger and after choosing any option of sex that is a two part animation, as in oral followed by sex or any combination of two, the 1st animation will play, conclude and then those involved fall to the ground, get dressed again, and then stand there forever. The second animation doesnt play and I have no control over my toon other than moving the camera back and forth on one plane and zooming in and out. Anyone have an idea how to fix it? It consistent anytime I choose a double sex act. Single works fine.

There might be an issue with Tryouts mod if you have that installed. There reworking the vault 19 if memory serves me correctly. You might want to post a fresh tech support thread for this issue if you don't have Tryouts installed. If you do post a question there in case it is something from their mod. If not perhaps they can give you better directions. Also post the load order where ever you post the support request.

I have the weirdest thing going on. I have all the right plugins in the right order and everything required but I am doing the ncr dhatri quest and you can have sex one time but after going on another trooper it crashes after the sex is done.

Wrong thread. I believe the thread that you need is the Tryouts thread. They are working on that mod and it might be a known problem or a solution that they can give you.

The point of a FAQ is not to have a place for people to ask questions or report tech issues (that's why sexout has its own tech support section), but to have a place where the answers to questions that are frequently asked are already given.

DoctaSax pretty much nailed it. This is a FAQ thread, not a tech support thread. It means that I'm pretty much myself ignoring all questions that don't have something to do with the FAQ guide itself. If somebody else wants to point the lost souls toward right direction, that's great.

I figured that a gentle nudge in the right direction would be appreciated and would be taken advantage of. Which is was. I have seen this m ember post in the Tryouts thread a short time after.

 

Newer members... perhaps not so much. Some just don't want to take a gentle suggestion or guidance. When I was new here and a contributor or moderator, hell even someone with a large post count gave me suggestions I took them seriously. Zippy pointed out some issue with someone I was helping. He was right (as usual lol) I just don't understand why the others don't at least try or consider it?

 

Edit: This is in relations to this thread and Anna post. Not the forum in general. There are many good members that truly want to try to solve their problems. The comment was out of respect to the way Anna runs her thread. I know, I have a tutorial thread as well and understand the value of keeping it clean of all post that aren't related to fixes and clarifications of the tutorial ( FAQ ) post. It is way easy for a conversation to take several pages and dilute the meaning of the OP. Other start to chime in and before you know it someone is posting for legitimate help on page 15 of the thread. The OP has to sort through pages of post that have little to do with the OP to find these individuals.

Well I have learned so much these last couple months. More than I thought I would in a year thanks to the modders of this community. They were all patient and very helpful. (At least for me). I have scoured my previous posts and from what I know now to what I knew then about 75% of my mistakes were very small mishaps. Today I did a complete sweep of my fallout game mods and all and started over new. I cleared out 47 mods that I didn't use and my game is three times more stable then before. I followed the tutorials and had no issues (few hiccups here and there but that is to be expected. ) There is one thing I would like to learn how to do and that is swapping textures from mods. I read the guide on making bouncing breasts for your character and I though that would be a neat thing since I never had that in the past. I get the concept it's just the location to copy the meshes files to where which confuses me. It says to place the meshes file from the BNB_Body (I get that part) then install it to the game. That is where I draw a blank.

 

Update: I finally did it. Took a little bit of time but now I know how.

 

In conclusion to all newbie modders three words of advice: Read, Read, Read. I consider myself to be the king of derps. If I can learn things anyone can.
