What's on your mind?

Not to change the Subject or anything but I have a Question....Do young people want to work where you live??

I cannot hire a person who will set on their ass and ride my mower around the 2 acres* I call a Yard, not for love nor money!

Then I called the only 3 yard care businesses in my area, one showed up with constant complaints of how busy he was and well he would do it once for an exorbitant fee and adjust his price per visit from there, but cannot guarantee when he would be available to return for a second visit.

Gone are the days of self improvement via discipline and hard work, and I blame it on, "you get a trophy and you get a trophy" the everyone wins bullshit that has been fed to the Kids. Think about it if there is no consequence for failing there is no chance for self reflection and self improvement. By the time there is Failure in the picture it is generally too late, (thought cloud of kid) I'll get them one way or another. I will not elaborate on my further opinions about that.

In general no one wants to work anymore, I was buying a battery for my car at the local parts shop and the manager asked me if I wanted a job as a delivery driver, I said those driver jobs are usually kept long term as it is an easy job, he the said he couldn't keep the position filled as they just wouldn't show up.

Been seeing this more and more, how about you?

Guess I'll have to train my Dog!

Speaking of dogs, I've had one follow me home a few times from the store walking. He's a really big dog too- can't quite make out the breed, but he's really friendly. Shame he would probably eat my cats though. :D

As for the rest? Parents let us (the world) sort them out. Part of an ongoing policy to "pass the buck". :smirk:

I got lost yesterday googling something from a post somewhere, beeecause there have been studies done that show how smell (one article said "pheromones") coincide with people's beliefs.

But I live in a tiny hamlet next to a gargantuan city, where everyone slathers on deodorant and you can literally smell their product from eight feet away.

At least I *think* it's deodorant...
And maybe the dog was enamored with your bag of groceries, not the cut of your jib or how you walked.

Then I got lost (just now) wondering who actually has a "Yard" anymore. A girl in NYC fell six floors into hers, if you're being generous about the definition of "Yard".

There's prolly more to the story than her falling, since everyone involved swears there were bars on the window (now missing),

And more to the story about your doggy friend.

> So, I was close.:classic_biggrin: Thanks. The number would surely be higher but some posts and threads were deleted by administrator due to maintenance and fixing things. You, see, sex is most used word in the world today:classic_laugh:

> Word and Grammarly are in conflict about spelling a camomile. Word is saying: 'camomile' is proper, while Grammarly says: it is but it can be a 'chamomile' too". Word is rejecting chamomile and Grammarly is rejecting Word's camomile. It must be his camomile :classic_laugh:

Never seen it spelled like this before. Maybe I should buy a dictionary at some point. ?‍♀️

For reference

Chamomile or camomile is the common name for several daisy-like plants of the family Asteraceae. Two of the species, Matricaria chamomilla and Chamaemelum nobile, are commonly used to make herbal infusions for beverages.

At a guess "cam.." (rather than "cham..") is maybe an American spelling

>Thank you, slorm.  I have two American English-Croatian dictionaries and both says that cam and cham are correct. I assume Word and Grammarly are in conflict because of some bug in one or both of them

it's usually spelled "Lipton" and no one protests the incredible price increase.

Tea by any other name is way too expensive.

(Tea without sugar is uncivilized)

images.jpg.b192bf2a51f24158ed34a4d0056dbb38.jpgAh, there ya go (no h, 2 L's)

Spell-checkers, the overweening micromanaging (redacted adjectives) won't live and let live.

Let the loudest most bombastic rule.

So the picture with both spellings is reassuring, SOME people are nice and won't shoot.

How does one achieve 'complete' idiocy? I mean... is there a test or something? Only asking because I've never completed anything significantly noteworthy and it seems attainable. :classic_tongue:
