Ponzi Dump

About This Page

It is unfortunate, but all good things must come to an end. This page is a file dump for ponzi's projects. Each file includes the last WIP version and a cached version of the page for your convenience. The mod author passed these files directly to me and proposed my hosting of those files before they took their pages down.

Some of these mods are broken, certainly only to be used by other authors for their purposes. Because of the general work-in-progress nature of all his works, this page is primarily a mod author's resource cache. Also note that the below descriptions, and their corresponding cached pages, aren't updated to describe the latest respective versions. Users should only use any of the below files if you know what you want.

This is a static repository, meaning the files here are for reference purposes so they will not be removed even if superseded.

Download core files under the big green download button to your right. Download cached pages and supplementary files under the below spoiler sections.

Suggestions for the uninitiated

Consider SexLab Cum Overlays Extended if you are still using Ashal's SexLab Framework and haven't yet moved onto Scrab's SexLab P+. SexLab Aroused NG is usable if you absolutely don't want to use OSL Aroused for whatever reason.

Note for fellow authors

The mods listed below aren't everything Ponzi put out, because what's listed below is what's currently open for adoption! See Terms & Addendum for general use information.

At the time of this update, the following authors have taken over the following mods

  • SCOE [Scrab], SLANG [crajj], DFR [Miss Corruption]

Crowd Control

A super simple API for Spectator Crowds Ultra Edition (SCUE) that gives mod authors the ability to start crowds for specific Sexlab scenes. ESL-flagged. For users, this mod lets you get crowds for select scenes instead of having NPCs barge in to every scene every time. If you use SCUE and want spectators for every scene, you don't need this mod. This mod will disable spectators on game load.

Terms of Use

FOSS - Free and Open Source Software. You cannot keep these files strictly behind a paywall. Files must remain publicly available, free, and open source. Successors must similarly be FOSS.

Addendums

  1. I highly recommend, but cannot enforce by myself, that you maintain only one copy of these files in the larger public space to prevent unnecessary confusion. Private and limited public spaces aren't under my purview/concern. If you have wholly succeeded these files, please do make new posts/listings.
  2. I will not provide technical support unless I have explicitly stated that I've adopted any one of these mods.
  3. Are you looking for the GitHub repository or certain LL/NM mods missing from this file dump? Horsin' Around will be re-hosted by krzp. All other projects, such as the C++ frameworks on Nexus, will be managed by Scrab. Any project that doesn’t resurface (ex. perhaps Fast Tats) should be assumed broken and unusable. But, if you're a known mod author, you can always check around between me and the people mentioned here to see if someone has the source.
  4. If you are intent on uploading a file missing from this post (such as another WIP release or an older version of a file here), just make sure none of the mentioned authors are working on it or a successor.

The light that burns twice as bright burns half as long, and you have burned so very, very brightly, Ponzi. 😢

Oh No! Is there an official reason why he stopped? Didn't see anything on his page for why he left

He stated "personal reasons". 🤷‍♂️

Aw... I was looking forward to his version of Devious Followers. What was already there was very, very, very promising.

I am sad now.

Wow, I was just on his discord yesterday, everything seemed... fine? Damn. Hope all is well with him.

EDIT: Wasn't ponzi also pretty heavily involved in the Sexlab P+ project?

Hmm...did he share pyramidutils as well?

C++ frameworks such as pyUtils, Extended Console, Custom Console, and Mfg Fix NG will be managed by Scrab on Nexus. For pyutil in particular, it may be merged with Scrab’s Papyrus Extender.

Sorry to spam, but I was wondering, did Ponzi leave behind a license? Are these mods all effectively dead, or would another talented mod author (def not me) be allowed to pick them up and continue work on them, should they desire?

Yes, per the note at the bottom. All of Ponzi's software is FOSS (presume GNU/GPL). Any project you don't see posted can be assumed as under management by someone else (either krzp or scrab). One might consider letting me know if one decides to adopt a project so that we don't get a second or third person uploading here on LL, creating unnecessary overlaps. Otherwise, the permissions are FOSS, for the community, and must be open to the community for any succeeding work.

Since modlists use some of them, what are the rules about uploading specific versions of these mods, should it be allowed ?

And do you know what is the status of Sexlab Aroused NG ? Is it also FOSS or maybe somebody took charge of it ?

All work here is FOSS. Given that's the case, I'm following permissions for my own work, which is:

I highly recommend not uploading verbatim or near verbatim versions of the same file to avoid confusion (which is very easily incited). If your tweak can be reduced to a patch, then only the patch should be uploaded. However, precisely because it is FOSS, you should upload your specific version if it wholly supersedes a version in this file dump - in which case you should just upload the file in its own listing as a successor. If you must upload a slight tweak as its own package, keep it 'private' or limited public. Although, I recommend sharing the patch for the public's benefit.

SLANG is also FOSS, but it is built on previous SLA versions, so I'm unclear if those previous versions have any restrictions. Scrab is taking care of SLANG (probably merging it with P+).

That's some bad news, really loved the work from ponzi.

Sad to see them go, but i wish him the very best for the future. Whatever the real reasons may be, i hope it's nothing to serious.

Thanks for sharing his work though. Better to have them here collected, than vanished.

Hopefully he'll return one day.

A note on past releases:

I can't enforce this stuff in writing - and, again, this is FOSS - so if you upload an older version elsewhere, I can't do anything. But, all or most of Ponzi's stuff was WIP; another reason for all these WIP versions above is so we can get some testing. Before uploading an older version, please consider trying the WIP versions first! It would help everyone if we got feedback on whether the stuff above works! If it works, then hooray, we get fixes and additions over the older releases.

I can tell you already that Devious Followers worked. Deals were there, hooks from and to SS++ seemed to be fine. What was missing was the potion quest. Which I am murky on what exactly it does even in the original mod. Despite having it as hard requirement, it worked without OAR (I still use DAR, but I did not use the crawling animation or crawling deal or pet suit deal, so I can't say whether it would've worked).

Skooma Whore hooks worked, NFF support worked,  SLAL hooks for spanking deal worked.

DF had conflict with several scripts from NFF, I was unsure about which should be given priority, since Nether was always very adamant that nothing should overwrite his framework and I always stuck to that rule with good results. However, in this case, I had assumed this is required for support and I let DF overwrite NFF. I have not observed anything bad happening during gameplay, but I never looked under the hood.

I think I left more feedback in the original thread but that's gone now and I can't recall what was it I said.

Strictly speaking, these cannot be released under GPL because GPL licensed software requires all code used to also be GPL licensed regardless of whether it's direct code, statically linked, or dynamic linked, hence if you licensed these under GPL, they'd immediately be in violation because DD and other libraries are non-GPL. The only GPL exception is for system libraries. It's the position held by the FSF and has been pressed in court.

Even if it did not use any non-GPL compliant code or libraries, it would still likely be in violation because of how derivative works are defined (i.e. code using a GPL library must also be GPL licensed and no one here holds the Skyrim copyrights). However going the other direction, a link exception can be made hence why the LGPL exists.

These restrictions are why most open source is permissively licensed with less restrictive terms such as with the MIT License.

@xtremeGoose Would an Unabandon Public License be good? I've come across it multiple times and have considered making my own mod, Licenses, under it. Although, I don't see any actual, official page hosting a copy of the legal terms.

At worst, MIT License will do. No biggie.

Posted (edited)

I'm unfamiliar with that license. I just happen to know how GPL, LGPL, MIT, and a bit of Apache because I deal with them for work.

It's a bit of a tricky thing because for professional libraries and tools, companies generally do not care how you use their open source things as long as they're attributed, which is why most things like Node.js are MIT Licensed, but mod authors tend to want any changes to be open sourced as well and all derivative works to be non-commercial, which would be covered by copyleft licenses such as LGPL. So the problem is that some of the things he wrote use non-GPL compatible licenses, hence cannot be LGPL or GPL licensed, but I'm guessing the intention is to restrict any derivative works to be open source as well which MIT does not require.

If that's the case, you probably just have to make your own or just list out what is required. Won't be as bulletproof as an existing license with real legalese and backing, but its better than using a licence which will immediately be in violation, hence carries no weight anyways.

There might be license out there that does everything you want, but I'm not familiar with one that would cover all the bases.
