Guest smellbo Posted June 13, 2014 Posted June 13, 2014 How do I remove Devious Devices? I hope you're referring to un-installing the mod, and not how to remove the items themselves. If you are referring to the items, then you should really take a look at the rest of this thread.
Coopervane Posted June 14, 2014 Posted June 14, 2014 Okay so hit a dead end. Checked back a few pages, but didn't see any answer and the main page doesn't have any answer either. Playing through the Forbidden Tome quest, and I'm at the point to collect the items at the different Dwemer ruins. I got two of them in Skyrim, the other is in Solstheim. So I got the ones in Skyrim no probs, but the one in Solstheim is not showing up. I went into the dungeon, did all kinds of killing and stuff to get to where the chest is that has the item, finally get there, open the chest, and there is nothing in there. No quest item at all. Just a couple gems and that's it. So now I'm stuck. I have no idea what the items are called, so I can't look them up in the console, and I don't know the quest stages so I can't advance it, I just have an empty chest with no quest item, yet the quest marker is still pointing at the empty chest. So I can't proceed any further, and I have all these devices on me that I can't remove now either. Any help would be appreciated. EDIT: Nevermind, was able to fix it by searching "Odd" via the console and found the other one that I was missing and added it, and it caused the quest to advance. Ignore my bickering, got it fixed. I know what the problem is, as i've had it happen before: The problem is that the item was not spawned IN the chest, it spawned in a duplicate chest placed in the same location. If you go back to that chest, i can almost garuentee you that if you empty it, and then explore the whole surface of the chest with your crosshair, you'll suddenly find a point on the chest where it nolonger says "empty", because there's a second chest clipping through it, sitting inside of it, that has the quest-item in it.

Coopervane Posted June 14, 2014 Posted June 14, 2014 ewwwwwww thats nasty how did you find that out? Trial and error. I ran into the same problem, the quest-marker pointed me to a Dwemer chest, but when i opened it there was no "Odd Dwemer item" in it. So i figured "maybe it's a display error? Maybe if i do a take-all it'll end up in my inventory anyway!" and did so. Nope, nothing, no odd dwemer junk. I then cleared the rest of the dungeon thinking "maybe the marker is glitching and it's in another chest". Nope, it wasen't. So finally, out of desperation, i came back to the chest and looked at it again, and that's when i noticed that if i pointed the crosshair at one of it's corners, it nolonger said "empty". So i found that spot, clicked the use key, and hey presto! I could open a different chest that did have random loot and the Odd Dwemer junk in it! So yeah, there can be 2 chests. If you don't find the item in the chest pointed out by the marker, then just keep exploring it from different angles till you find the other one clipping through it.

I blame Skyrim, and/or conflicting mods.

BareFeetSlave Posted June 14, 2014 Posted June 14, 2014 Ok, everything is working fine for me. But I cannot remove anything after removal of armbinder. My magica is 0 so I cant use magic to remove them, and every time I'm trying brute force I get this: "[...] with all your strength to no avail". I set unlock threshold 15 & +3 on every device removed. All my character skills (but speechcraft, alchemy & pickpocket witch are 5) are 0. My health & stamina are 50 if this changes anything. I've disabled crafting the key, neither I'd get to any forge cause i cannot run cause my carryweight is 20 and i cannot run so Frostfall would kill me in half of the way. I'd like to know if I have a chance to remove the devices, and if not maybe some command or mod extension.

unfhunt Posted June 15, 2014 Posted June 15, 2014 1 - Download and Install the Devious Device Assets version appropriate for your body-type from Zadil's thread: http://www.loverslab...devices-assets/2 - Extract the archive into your Skyrim data folder.3 - Activate both the Devious Devices - Assets.esm and the Devious Devices - Integration.esm i'm sorry, I do it wrong? I cant find this file (Devious Devices - Integration.esm) in that archive Devious Devices - Assets v2.8.1.rar

Assets is a mod that Integration depends on. You need both if you want to use Integration.
sagebeat Posted June 15, 2014 Posted June 15, 2014 Having an issue in particular with animations breaking certain aspects of the mod. After sex using the dialogue choices in sexlab submit for instance, a character wearing a ballgag will close their mouths and act as if they arent wearing one. Another example is most idle animations a follower or npc will perform, including misc idles or spriting to keep up will break the animation that keeps their arms in place with an armbinder. Even Sexlab matchmaker will break the gag effect on npcs. What should I do about these problems, is this normal?Edit: Gagged people also have no problem speaking
galgat Posted June 15, 2014 Posted June 15, 2014 I have tinkered with this one some, and I was wondering if all this mod does is stick you in some of Zadils creations, and make them hard to get off. I did also try Deviously Helpless, but it was very unpredictable for me, as in what could or would happen. Or does this mod actually cause sexual events to happen. It seems to conflict with Defeat, for me in that I can not use the forge ( to make keys or anything ) if I have defeat activated ( Defeat is one of the most enjoyable for me here that I have found ) Next to that is ( Dangerous Nights ). Those both seem to be very adjustable, and have caused me no main quest problems. I am not sure if it was Deviously Helpless, or this one that did it, but after un installing them, all the bandits and badies in the game became passive, and would not attack. Had to go back to and earlier save to get things back normal. I probally did something wrong there. Anyway I was just wondering if it actually did anything other than that. ( I mean i know it has a Quest, but the Quest was to cryptic for me to follow, I just not up for real complicated take me away from other things I could be doing quests, but those could be turned off which is nice, and it would say things dribbled down my leg and such ) I just re installed Skyrim, and have been looking at some of these new creations.

galgat Posted June 15, 2014 Posted June 15, 2014 I have a lot to learn, I un-installed Skyrim about a month or so after its release, a friend gave me the expantions for it, and I decided to re install it. It seems much more stable now. I think will be a slow learning curve for me. The editor is giving me fits right now, I started a mods, but for some reason that darn Dialog bug is messing with me ( I made the SEQ file no problems, made it with window, steam, and finally Tes5Edit ) but the darn dialog will not come up..Grrrr! I guess I could use and (Event Node) but that seems so over kill, and I should not have too. Any way I was playing with it. I do love these mod's you all have been making, I am just trying to understand it all. I hope my Questions were not taken the wrong way. I just am trying to understand stuff.

That's possible if just removed the mod when it was in a certain stage, without running the uninstall through the config first. Though even then, the factions should've been removed from the game, but who knows how skyrim works when removing mods. It's not something I've tested that extensively, and apart from having the uninstall there to clean up things as much as possible, not much else that can be done. And yep, it's going to be rather unpredictable with the default settings, intentionally so.

Seems what you're asking is "does DD start SexLab scenes like mods such as Defeat or Romance does?", and the answer to that is: No, that's not it's focus at all. There's no shortage of SexLab mods that are all about starting sex scenes in one way or another, DD is not ment to be a replacement for those, rather, it works as an addon to those if you're into the whole BDSM thing and would like to add some functional gear to the proceedings (gear that isen't just cosmetic, but actually locks in place and can cause adverse efects to the wearer). That's the main focus of DD, it does have some quest content ontop of that, but it's mainly about the gear. And a quick heads up since you're new to Skyrim: Skyrim does not work like previous Bethesda titles in one impotant respect, you cannot, or rather, should not uninstall mods once they are active in your playthrough (IE, once they are loaded in and the game has been saved with them active). Sadly, Bethesda decided to take some shortcuts when making Skyrim that has adverse effects on modding, a lot of data that was loaded directly from the mod-files in previous games now gets saved and stored in your save-files. This includes scripts, items and echantments and AI behaviour. Thus, when you delete a mod that was active in an existing save, that save will be littered with refrences to scripts, items and AI packages that now nolonger exists (since you deleted the mod it came from), and that can cause no end of trouble and strange bugs on that game save. Yeah, it's annoying, but that's just something we'll all have to deal with when using mods with Skyrim, because Bethesda is not going to change it.
GrimmLove Posted June 15, 2014 Posted June 15, 2014 I keep getting a failed quest message on " remove the belt off before I lose my mind".. how did I fail, nd what does that mean?

HI Galgat: This mod adds functionality (Integrating them in to the world, as it were) to Zadil's creations. All device-related behavior: events, animations, sounds, idles, expressions, etc that you see in game are provided by this mod. That includes the sex-animation-filter, the Devices Underneath system, the periodic events system, etc. Outside of quests, this mod doesn't force devices on you (It does make them hard to remove, however). It's mostly intended as a framework for other BDSM-themed mods. Many such mods exist (See http://www.loverslab.com/topic/30855-devious-skyrim/ for a complete list of all mods that use this one). This mod does not conflict with Defeat (I know a number of my beta-testers run defeat). I don't alter anything related to forge behavior. You would likely be unable to use the forge if you were wearing an armbinder, but that's it. Likewise, this mod doesn't touch faction relations, or alter NPC behavior. Not sure what the source of your problem is, but it likely originates someone else. As Coopervane mentioned, uninstalling mods mid-playthrough is a -very- bad idea in Skyrim. This isn't like Oblivion, sadly: there are no clean saves here.

I know you are probably right, all I know is that with defeat inabled, and the mod, I could not use the Armory creation devices, at all, when my character activated any of the smithing devices, or even chairs for sitting, I would just stand there a moment, until the script cleared its self, and not use them. It was problematic, because you needed to be able to use them to make the item's. I truly wanted to keep Defeat, and Dangerous Nigths running, but could not, which limited my options for naughty things to happen. It may well have been dangerous nights that was doing it, bed selection possibly being handled in a simular way. I disabled both of them, at the same time as I wanted to check this one out. I may should have done it one at a time. But once they were disabled I could use the Chairs, and smithing devices again. Maybe it is a loading order problem, but I could not use any amithing device, or chair to sit in. was puzzling to me. I will re- enable them one at a time, and see what happens. EDITED:: I re enabled Defeat, and all seems well this time, I have not enabled Dangerous nights yet, but I am using ModOrganizer, and re installed everything on a different character, but all seems well now. Latter i will try Dangerous nights re activating Dangerous nights, but for now I will test your mod, an learn a bit more. Thx U for informing me that Defeat was not a problem, it prodded me to re check things.

galgat Posted June 16, 2014 Posted June 16, 2014 I have everything working fine now, and have Deviously Helpless installed as well, and it is a fun application. I have one small problem though. 1. The Armrestraint: The rope's bind behind my back fine, but the Armrestraint the hands disappear, and the arms stay where they were, and move normal. all other animations are just fine only the Armrestraint is messed up. 2. I have installed ZazAnimationPack_V0553.7z, and ZazAnimationPack_v553_missingAnim.7z after that, and generated the FNIS. I am using UNPB Body NMM BAIN Installer v2-5-2 FIX-37900-2-5-2.7z body, and I am pretty sure the skeleton I am using is xp32 MAXIMUM Skeletons-26800-1-2.7z 3. Every thing Else is fine rope bindings place my hands behind my back where they belong, and I installed the UNPB Devious Devices from the Devious Devices - Assets v2.8.1.7z file. If is not to much trouble maybe you would know what I have probably done wrong. I hope I detailed that well enough. I did keep looking for mabe something in the SkyUI settings where i could just disable the Armrestraint with out losing the Rope bindings, but I probably missed it if it was there ( LOL.. The arms swinging freely with out hands, and the restraint hanging on my back sort of messes up the immersion ) PS: I think i used the beast skeleton from this file XPMSplusSOS BQLH 1HB DOH-36923-1-0.7z, because I used, Mighty Beasts - Werewolf-42015-1-04.zip . which the schlongs doc. said was the werewolf I should be using.

The ropes are from Zaz Animation Pack and have different scripting. Did you put on the armbinder from the console? That's a common error because there are two kinds of armbinders and only one will actually play the animation etc...
