I ask you why talking of a singular deity and using the phrase one hears at millions of Religious sites daily is not a Religious statement. How can that include users who have not even seen said post at all, if they have not seen it then it is automatically a negative for the post?! Then following your logic there is a ton of content posted here that everyone has not seen.   Struggling to see what a down vote option would add to anything...  If its a image/screenshot and you don't like it - move on - you don't need to tell the poster you didn't like it  If its an idea in a mod thread - then whether you like/don't like doesnt really matter, if the author does like/not like they will include/not include , if they want feedback they can make a poll  If its random discussion thread (thats within the rules) then if you care enough to have an opinion (negative/positive) then adding some text to that seems more constructive/likely to move discussion forward in a way that up vote/down vote is not 7

Rules are Rules after all.  Origin of God Bless You Phrase The phrase "God bless you" has its origins in various historical and cultural contexts. One notable origin is linked to Pope Gregory the Great, who in 600 A.D. is said to have coined the phrase "God Bless You" for when someone sneezed, particularly during the time of a plague where sneezing was an early symptom and could be a sign of illness. Another significant historical context is the Roman Plague of 590, during which Pope Gregory I ordered unceasing prayer for divine intercession. He commanded that anyone sneezing be blessed immediately with "God bless you," as sneezing was often the first sign of falling ill with the plague.2 In religious contexts, the phrase has been used in the Hebrew Bible by Jews and by Christians since the time of the early Church as a benediction, and also as a means of bidding a person Godspeed.2 The phrase is not directly from the Bible but is inspired by similar blessings found in Numbers 6:24 Additionally, there are superstitions associated with the phrase, such as the belief that a sneeze could allow evil spirits to enter the body, or that the heart stops beating during a sneeze, making "God bless you" a form of protection or good luck charm.  Edited March 10, 2025 by Raven 54

As you say, rules are rules, the particular rule...  In an effort to keep the site & community inviting and friendly we do not allow several categories of conversation. This is not intended as censorship or endorsement of any particular view, but rather a move to keep this site neutral and open. The categories of conversation that are not welcome include those discussing politics and religion. Too often these discussions descend into pointless bickering and lead to offending one party or the other (if not both). This sends the wrong message of what this site is all about. There are plenty of forums, blogs and other online outlets available for these types of conversations, this site is not one of them.  LoversLab is first and foremost a gaming community. As such, we wish to be welcoming and friendly to all genders, orientations, nationalities, religions, and beliefs. Those who are not conducive to that environment will be dealt with in whatever reasonable manner we deem appropriate. What is deemed "political or religious" is up to staff discretion and no others.  So if you reported something like the above and it was ignored then the final statement applies, let it go 4

Imagine people making fake accounts just to down vote hundreds of times.  Absolutely no reason for mod creators to see this and de-motivate them.  Just as the Review system was canned by the moderators this would just create too many conflicts.   I am actually shocked that someone would suggest this. 10

I suggested it as a balance for the up vote, if one can like a post then one should be able to dislike a post in a manner that does not start disagreements, that is not a way to demean or put down another with the wrongly worded post. If there is no balance between the up/down vote then why have an up vote at all. Users and creators should be given appropriate feedback that does not start a word war. Just my opinion, besides what is there to be afraid of, which seems to be the running sentiment of users dissenting the idea. Besides Ashal has the final say, it was just a suggestion.
Psalam Posted March 10, 2025 Posted March 10, 2025 I think this discussion has gone on long enough. Everyone has had the opportunity to express their opinion. Before I became a Moderator I received a good deal of flak for wanting to discuss the Rules. But, as tautologies are my favorite thing (just ask my daughter) the Rules are the Rules.  So, any further reference to LLs Rules (and any allusion to religion or politics), as determined at the sole discretion of the Staff, will be removed. Repeated or egregious violations of this will result in sanctions for the poster. 5
Popular Post Ashal Posted March 11, 2025 Author Popular Post Posted March 11, 2025 The no religious discussions rule is to prevent preaching, condemning, and related arguments. Somebody saying thank you in a particular way is none of that. The rule states, "The categories of conversation that are not welcome include those discussing politics and religion." A passing remark of thanks is not a discussion or a conversation, nor does it attempt to invite other users for one. It's just somebody showing gratitude, which is something always welcome. It's no different than somebody saying, "Oh my god," "god damn," or "thank god," they are just commonly said phrases with no real professing of any particular god or religion behind them. Â --- Â I appreciate the suggestion, but a downvote is still not something I am interested in adding, nor am I likely to ever be. Just like the review system we had for a little while and ended up removing, it just de-motivates people from contributing and gives trolls another method of harassment, neither of which is a good thing for a healthy community. Downvotes may be good and useful in some communities, but I do not believe they provide any real benefit here. 21
MrGrey Posted March 19, 2025 Posted March 19, 2025 A search function would be nice. An option to exclude in the search would also be nice. e.g. most mods are in English and thus translations from the English are not needed. Or perhaps I only want translations into French or Ecclesiastical Latin and not Danish.
Wandering_Mania Posted March 21, 2025 Posted March 21, 2025 There is a search function. But it is entirely useless right now. If it ain't giving you nothing but irrelevant results, it's telling you "please wait another 5 seconds". And after that 5 seconds, it says "please wait another 10 seconds". It counts up on the waiting, to get more irrelevant results. Â Example: Say I'm looking for 'SoS - Shlongs of Skyrim' (SE version), I type in "SOS"; it gives me a search highlighting every use of the word "so". Then I restrict it ti 'Titles only', and all the dependent mods pop up, but not SoS itself. And it's a rare chance that one of those actually links to the main required mod. Â It gives you all the dependents of the mod your looking for, but never the one you need to run off of those. It's like trying to find a needle in a haystack; But you need that 'needle' to run all of the 'hay'. And Omnissiah forbid the search shows you where the 'needle is. 1

I haven't been on LL in a good minute, I was also just looking for The Club to see and checkout new features and updates from OP, but I understand that you had to do what's best for you dude.  I tried my best to check in here and there, but much appreciated for your time and your animation mod, such clean work like many others. Glad I was able to see the progress to it, as it was growing bigger and better in the sub from the feedback suggestions. Keep up the great work going forward dude, thanks for a good community. 2

I've actually started back learning the ropes in making mods with those guides, (starting with simple creations first of course), but thanks once again and good luck to you as well dude. 😉 1

Simpossible_xx Posted April 1, 2025 Posted April 1, 2025 When I try to upload gifs in the screenshot section of a file, I keep getting a white screen and a "Bad Gateway" error. I'm not sure if the site is overloaded or if the loading process just automatically interrupts after some time. The gifs I'm trying to upload are between 5-10 MB, which is below the suggested maximum limit of 19 MB. Maybe it is possible to add support for WebM extensions? They could be less heavy than gifs.

Spectradevil Posted April 13, 2025 Posted April 13, 2025 Okay, so i stopped using the follow button because it got really annoying when i got notified every time someone commented. Im usually interested in the files the selves not other people's problems and questions about the files. Instead, i swapped to version update notifications and that's been working great for me, however im trying to find a mod i know i opted for version updates for and i cant remember its name but because i didn't follow it the normal way Im stuggling to find if there is away to see a list of files im getting version update notifications for. Is there such a list? if not can i request/suggest having something like this added to the site please. Thanks!

I haven't had a notification for it since and cant seem to find it even after several attempts.
