A shame this site has degraded to such low standards. 1
renferal Posted February 15, 2025 Posted February 15, 2025 I get these a lot whenever I'm trying to upload pictures to my blog. Usually whenever I see these I assume the upload failed, and then I just try it again, but today I logged in to see that they actually seemed to have worked on one of my blog posts that I have yet to publish. So what should I do whenever I see these when uploading pictures for a new entry? Should I just wait and check back later? Or should I be removing them and trying the upload again? Further Technical Info: It looks like the network call for my upload itself responds with a 200 OK response, so it looks to be uploading fine. But then the following network call to get the thumbnail, or picture, for the image returns 404 Not Found.

Even though I stated that I wanted members to be active. Now I am back to being a downloader like in the old days. It feels nice. I have done my part. Glad to see that there are others that appreciated what I did. Only had endorsements from Pirates that made a new account to wish me Goodbye (irony). I really did. IT was nice seeing where you where going with, more intimate stuff, instead of all the balls deep whatever. Don't get me wrong, time and a place for everything. I just worked like 12 to 16 hours a day, for months on end, and finally got some time off. Again, thanks for what you have done. 1

It just tries to display the thumbnail a split second too fast before it's done propagating across the cdn, which then results in it caching the response as 404. A few minutes later once the response cache expires, it shows up fine. I've been trying to work out a fix for a while, but I haven't had much luck so far. 1

Yeah I noticed shortly after I made this post and futz'd with it a bit more, that the images all uploaded fine to the blog. I won't worry about it too much then. Thanks for the quick response.

Hex Bolt Posted February 19, 2025 Posted February 19, 2025 Can json be added to the list of allowed file attachment types?
DrSeptimus Posted February 19, 2025 Posted February 19, 2025 (edited) Can Edit Details Silently applies to upload/edit/delete screenshot and version details? I have to use "Upload a new version features" each time I make a change and it bump my mod to front pages. One mod won't be issues but it looks like a spam if I does it to multiple mod of mine at same time. Edited February 19, 2025 by DrSeptimus 1

Which I'd rather avoid since v5 of the forum software is coming out really soon and will change how a lot of things work. Changing files/screenshots means a new file record is made or altered, which changes the "last updated" timestamp, which is what causes the bump. For screenshots/file changes, they would have to be backdated, which creates a whole different mess. The edit details silently button is primarily to avoid bumping and notifications when fixing typos and the like, not for when files are altered. 2 hours ago, Hex Bolt said: Can json be added to the list of allowed file attachment types? Guest Posted February 22, 2025 Posted February 22, 2025 > I wonder if Inbox would be more flexible than turning it off for all LL members. I mean if we were able to choose whom we would let write in our inbox, like getting information in the form of "This person sent you a mail, accept it or not" If you reject that person's mail, he/she wouldn't be able to write you again unless you permit him.

That or a Request to use, "May I send you a PM" Allow, Disallow
Raven 54 Posted February 23, 2025 Posted February 23, 2025 (edited) The other thing I would like to see, if it is seen as acceptable, is another icon by the like button to dislike a post so no words are necessary that would start a fight or be removed by the moderators. Respectfully disagree type of thing. Thanks to Ashal & the Moderators who work hard here! Edited February 23, 2025 by Raven 54 3

This isn’t Reddit, we don’t need people getting all bent out of shape over their karma score or whatever lol. 1

I remember that she was against such functionnality fearing harrasmenent. And, personnaly, I think downvote is a bad idea for these reasons. 3

JB. Posted February 26, 2025 Posted February 26, 2025 (edited) Many thanks to @DoctaSax for pinning a post of mine ,so it doesn't get lost among the dozens of bug reports. I would like in the future, if it's possible, to implement this function for those who upload mods/open threads. Edited February 26, 2025 by JB. 1
Nonsequitur Posted February 28, 2025 Posted February 28, 2025 Not having a Downvote... No vote at all says a lot... don't you think? And yes, it includes all those that haven't seen the post and those that just don't care... lol 2
Raven 54 Posted March 9, 2025 Posted March 9, 2025 @Ashal This is exactly what I mean about the hypocrisy of the moderators and Religious content here on LL. I reported this post twice over two days to see it still is not removed, some of my posts that have been removed have had far less direct comments on the subject. In the support thread for wartimes ad's tweak this is posted. I ask you why talking of a singular deity and using the phrase one hears at millions of Religious sites daily is not a Religious statement. Please... if we have rules they should not be pick and choose, or Do as I do not as I say. Thank you. How can that include users who have not even seen said post at all, if they have not seen it then it is automatically a negative for the post?! Then following your logic there is a ton of content posted here that everyone has not seen.
