The upload works, even if it shows a broken thumbnail when you upload; if it has the file details right (the file size and file name), the upload succeeded, it just cached it as not existing and if you wait a little for the cache to clear the image will display fine.

Like this:

Screenshot 2024-10-25 005007.png

You'll find it works fine after the cache has timed out and see that It does exist. Here's that image showing as broken above working fine:

------

Obviously, it isn't ideal and needs some fixing. I'm just trying to make it clear that the upload is, in fact, not failing despite how it looks.

I can live with that. It was another thing, if the site was about to implode.

How is the situation? - The site does appear to have been more stable as of late. Faster.

I still see a lot of videos while surfing the site, we cannot post vids of music but I see joke vids etc. still allowed.  Why

What is for one should be for all.

ALL videos should be placed in spoilers. If you come across some that are not then Report them.

i think the site could use a few more "i am not a robot" checks.

I sympathize. I'm probably more tired of them than you are since the Staff are the ones who have to remove them.

BUT checking for robots can add more time and, potentially, steps to getting on to LL for our current Membership. I'm already very familiar with how unpopular those sorts of things can be.

I get an unknown server error when uploading an image (Error Code: -200)

As I can see, other users can upload images to LL. Is the server reporting an error only for me?

I want to upload only 1 cover image, but even that is not possible.

What about gifs?

Because they tend to slow loading, but not as much as videos, some compromise is probably best.

No more than one gif per post OUTSIDE a spoiler. Inside a spoiler, help yourself.

Should this prove to slow the site down I will not hesitate to change this to all gifs in spoilers.

Oooh... thanks for THAT info!

Pretty sure it's been mentioned before (and if there is already an option for this, I have simply missed it), but an option to disable only the images in sigs.

Thanks for the site, I would like to ask if there could be an option on our PM inbox "by Invitation only" instead of On/Off.

I have had a couple of unwanted PM's this week alone, however I do not wish just to shut it off.

Thanks for the consideration.

This site would be a lot better if it wasn't for all the users who act like hanging around on a modding forum site makes them superior. Seriously, there are so many fucking users on this site like this, who go around, talking down on people. I can name at least 10 of them. The worst part is that moderators do nothing about these people. Also, I'm pretty sure the users I'm mentioning know the moderators won't do anything, because why would they be acting like condescending assholes if they knew something would be done about it? These arrogant users are the reason my friend Ashley left the modding community, because why should she have to put up with overly entitled losers when all she wants to do is have fun? Shit, I'm considering leaving for the same goddamn reason. I'm fucking sick of these people, and I'm even more sick of nothing being done about them.

If you want an example of what I'm talking about, here's one. Recently, I put a comment on a thread stating an opinion I had concerning screenshots. The opinion was that I feel like some people don't get enough upvotes for posting well done pics, even though there are screenshots of similar theme and quality who get a lot of upvotes. Here's the post I made.

This is the part that says this comment is my opinion. Then, a user (of whom I will not name) started giving me shit (something that I anticipated) about my opinion. Here's a quote from the user in question from me trying to explain that this was my opinion, yet they were too arrogant to understand that.

This user just assumed that I was trying to dictate what should be considered good, and that I was "upset about not getting attention (even though I said to someone else on the same thread that I didn't care if my pics didn't get upvotes). They also challenged me to show two pics to prove what I was saying, but why would I do that for something that is my opinion? The funny part is when I called them out on the fact that they were giving me shit for my opinion, and being an arrogant dick making assumptions, I haven't heard anything since. But the funniest part is that this person does this shit all the fucking time, and nothing gets done. They're probably a favorite with the moderators.

I know that saying this won't do a fucking thing, but it was nice to get it off my chest.

While I feel like this person overreacted (Seriously? Leaving over drama? I hate to see how they react to drama in the real world. 🤣), I can see where they're coming from. I recently had an encounter with one such user who decided to give me crap for something I posted; then, they threatened to report me for the drama they started after calling me a bitch. So, I reported them first.

My point is that there are a lot of people on here who need to go outside and walk on the grass or something. Get some fresh air, you know?

They don't react to drama in the real world. In my view, those who flip out online are likely very averse to confrontation in the real world. That's why they flip out so easily online.

EDIT: People like this also mistakenly believe others give a crap what they think.

This reminds me of an experience I had here on LL years ago back before I was a Moderator. I spent a good deal of time on the Skyrim Technical Threads trying to help people with the game. One particular person started a thread about the difficulty the he(?) was having with his game. Three people, including myself, told him what was needed in order to figure it out. Instead of following directions he ranted and raved and finally, in a fit of pique, said something along the lines of, "if you can't help me I'm just going to quit playing Skyrim!" As if I cared. As if I got paid by Bethesda for helping him sort his game out.

Related to the "welcome to my ignore list" person. I'd really like to sit down with someone like that and have a sincere, non-confrontational conversation with them about why they think like that. Because I just don't get it.

I’ll be honest. I can be petty at times, but mostly I just ignore people who try that crap once I realize they're just going to argue. If you don't want my help, fine. Go be whiny and pissy with someone else.

I would like this as well. Sometimes the image is bigger than the rest of the post - too much real estate. Even limiting the image to avatar size, approximately, would be nice.

If either of these can be done easily, I'd appreciate it. Thank you.
