fishburger67 Posted December 13, 2021 Posted December 13, 2021 I have been having LOTS of problems lately posting. When I hit the "Save" button, nothing happens for sometimes like 5 minutes. I can open a new tab and log into LL and read things, but sending new things sometimes takes an incredibly long time. Sometimes, it works fine.

I am loath to give up Firefox because I hate Chrome. 1
Guest Posted December 13, 2021 Posted December 13, 2021 Yes, this happens to me as well. Not sure, but at the moment under Linux i have no problem. Not saying that it is the OS, but its strange. On the other hand with Edge i did not encounter the problem so far. Though, i haven't installed it on Linux yet for testing. For some reason i suspect a handshake (?).

Just tried Edge (which is Chrome based) and had exactly the same issue. Funny thing is that my Firefox session is still hung as I write this. However, I logged in using Edge and the topic I was replying to shows my response even though the session I made it from is still hung with the button grayed out saying "Saving..." Edit: I have two browsers running on LL with each two tabs, all pointing at LL. Three of the tabs are hung. If I startup another tab, it will show my responses as being posted. Guest Posted December 13, 2021 Posted December 13, 2021 That is a bummer. I have no answer. It seems to work for me today though. Have you tried, i know that sounds stupid, quitting the browser and log in back to LL? Sometimes that worked for me. But it still does not answer the cause.

Nope, did not try that, but I did boot up Edge and had the same problem with it. I'll try killing Firefox and give it a try.

I have to refresh ensure it actually posted.
Guest Posted December 14, 2021 Posted December 14, 2021 > I have same problems like fishburger in FF. Saving posts needs often refreshment of the site which sometimes turns into looping. It was occasional behaving before, but it became very regular after FF upgrade to 95.0 version.

It might be related to an (occasional for me) phenomenon where I hit the "save" button and nothing seems to happen. Up to the 5 minutes that you mention. Though, if I have that same thread in another tab, the post is immediately there. My conclusion is that it's just the screen refresh after hitting "save" ? Edited December 14, 2021 by worik

The javascript is fucking up I am pretty sure because If I hit the page refresh, the post is usually there.

It wasn't like that before. can confirme , it happens sometimes but not often ( only edge and not sure java is active ) . my solutions are to click on forum ( page restart ) or completely quit edge ( when stack ).

Guest Posted December 20, 2021 Posted December 20, 2021 I get no console errors on Chrome. Browser issue? I mean this is site usually pretty jazzy in that department. It's doing a LOT of things, so maybe a race condition or just you have too many xvideos tabs open lol.
LongDukDong Posted December 21, 2021 Posted December 21, 2021 (edited) Still having weirdness with the in-system prefix numbers attaching themselves to files uploaded in the Download manager. I gave re-uploading files from Claudia a shot, this after waiting since July. It doesn't appear that File Size is an actual issue. As seen, I was able to re-upload the 'OptionalMusic.7z' file with no issue. No odd prefix numbers attached. However, things were different for the six that followed. Prefix numbers that, according to @Ashal are meant only for the manager filing system, became visible once again for the other six files I uploaded. And of these, two were smaller in size than the initial 'OptionalMusic' file. This is annoying since some of these are file-spanning downloads that need the same filename aside from their 001,002,003 suffix. Edited December 21, 2021 by LongDukDong 1

Bump! I'm having the same issue with some file names being randomly prefixed with numbers. Any ideas for a fix? Is there a size limit? Can the moderators rename the files to remove the prefix? Should we re-upload the files and hope the prefix goes away? This is triggering my OCD. Also, can we have the most recently uploaded files at the top of the list instead of the bottom? 1

Should we re-upload the files and hope the prefix goes away? Well, as you can tell... I've known about it for a bit. And re-uploading was what I just attempted. So any additional re-upload right now.... nope. If you wondered if a file size has anything to do with the prefix numbers, you can see from my example that one file over 200 MB didn't have the prefix numbers whilst the one under 100 did. So file size has nothing to do with it. Now if you are inquiring if there is a maximum file size you may upload within the file manager.... yup. And I recommend you don't have files larger than 250MB or so. That's why I use file-spanning to break apart extreme-sized resource packages into smaller downloadable files (hence 7z.001, 7z.002 and 7z.003). Unfortunately, filespanning does need the files to have the same basic name and the prefixes bollox that up, and whoever downloads needs to manually rename the files so they can be used.

Compare the name of the file as you have it on your computer with what is shown in the file list. Specifically, any character besides: plain letters, numbers, or ! - _ . myuhinny Posted December 22, 2021 Posted December 22, 2021 I wonder if it thinks that the zip/rar files are a unzipped file? I have been on a different site and if you uploaded a unzipped file the site would add a bunch of mumbo jumbo to the front of the files name but if you rar'ed it up it didn't happen.
